Listen to the opening ceremony?
And with Jiang Miaoyu?
Fang Qiu's eyebrows slightly furrowed as he asked, "Does the rehearsal take a lot of time?"
Liu Feifei's eyes widened, as if she were seeing Fang Qiu for the first time. She sized him up and said in disbelief, "Senior, I really need to get to know you again. Performing with the school beauty, and you still look so unwilling?"
"I just want to focus on my studies."
Fang Qiu said helplessly.
"Good boy!"
Liu Feifei patted Fang Qiu's shoulder in a mature manner and said, "There are two rehearsals. The last one, which involves a full run-through, will take up an entire afternoon. The rest depends on your cooperation with Jiang Miaoyu."
"I think you two will work together perfectly on your first try. Cooperation won't be a problem for you."
"Since there's no need for much practice, the time required will be minimal. The most important thing is to decide what song you will sing. It should be positive and uplifting, not just romantic."
Seeing that the time required wasn't much and noticing the expectant look in the senior's eyes, Fang Qiu could only reluctantly agree.
"Alright."
"Cheer up, young man! Others would kill for the chance to work with the school beauty! You two should practice on your own; I won't be involved. Good luck, young man!"
Liu Feifei patted Fang Qiu's shoulder again, like a mother, and said earnestly, "Don't just focus on your studies. Don't waste your youth. You should also experience love."
With that, she winked at Fang Qiu and left.
Fang Qiu watched Liu Feifei's departing back, about to ask for Jiang Miaoyu's contact information, but the military training whistle sounded.
It seemed he would have to find another way to contact Jiang Miaoyu.
He thought to himself as he jogged to line up.
In the morning, the class formation continued with military training.
Throughout the training, Chen Cong did not pay any special attention to Fang Qiu, just following the routine.
Noticing this, Fang Qiu smiled slightly.
It seemed he hadn't detected that Fang Qiu was the mysterious person, thinking it was someone else, so he no longer suspected him.
This was good for him.
Military training always felt long, and it was a struggle to reach the break time.
The entire Class 3 sat down, exhausted.
During the break, the instructor left the formation. Soon, he returned with a young officer in military uniform, who was smiling.
"Chen Cong, step out!"
The instructor called from a distance.
Chen Cong immediately stood up and walked toward the instructor.
Everyone in Class 3, who had been resting on the ground, looked at Chen Cong and the instructor with puzzled expressions.
Fang Qiu, however, sized up the young officer and smiled slightly.
This was a martial artist!
And the aura he sensed was the same as the one he felt at 3 a.m. in the small forest.
He hadn't expected it to be a military officer.
It seemed he had come with a purpose.
Fang Qiu thought.
The young officer shook hands with Chen Cong, and they chatted for a moment. Chen Cong's expression gradually turned from surprise to seriousness.
Soon, they shook hands again, and the officer left, while Chen Cong returned.
"What did the instructor call you for?"
A male student from Class 3 asked Chen Cong curiously.
Chen Cong just shook his head, lowering his head as if in deep thought.
Seeing this, the others could only keep their doubts to themselves.
Fang Qiu, however, wasn't interested in what the officer had said to Chen Cong, so he didn't try to eavesdrop.
His goal here was to learn medicine well, and nothing else could distract him or interest him.
Soon, the break ended, and the training resumed.
After two more hours, the morning training ended, and the freshmen, like hungry tigers, rushed to the school cafeteria.
After a morning of training, even a god would be hungry!
Fang Qiu chatted with Zhu Benzheng, Sun Hao, and Zhou Xiaotian as they walked to the cafeteria.
Casually glancing ahead, Fang Qiu noticed a group of girls.
After a moment's thought, he told his roommates to go ahead and eat, while he approached the group of girls.
Seeing Fang Qiu walk over, the girls were clearly surprised.
One of the girls, who was petite and cute, blushed suddenly.
The other girls looked at her with amusement.
Fang Qiu glanced at the cute girl, understanding the situation, but pretended not to know. He walked straight to Jiang Miaoyu and said, "Excuse me, Jiang, can I have a word with you?"
"Huh?"
Jiang Miaoyu was surprised that Fang Qiu was looking for her. She glanced at the cute girl in the crowd and finally nodded, saying, "Sure."
Under the curious gazes of the girls and the passing students, the two walked to a small garden by the road.
When they reached a shady spot, before Fang Qiu could explain, Jiang Miaoyu spoke first.
"Is this about the opening ceremony?"
Fang Qiu nodded.
"Then, do you have any ideas for the song?"
Jiang Miaoyu asked.
She greatly admired and recognized Fang Qiu's artistic talent and wanted to hear the opinion of this somewhat mysterious classmate.
But she was destined to be disappointed.
Fang Qiu shook his head and said, "I don't have any ideas. We can follow your lead."
"Even if I choose a song you don't know?"
Jiang Miaoyu asked with a smile.
"Sure."
Fang Qiu nodded firmly.
This surprised Jiang Miaoyu. He agreed so readily to a song he didn't know?
Was he confident in his abilities or just too carefree?
"I'll decide and then discuss it with you."
Jiang Miaoyu said, then pulled out the letter from her pocket with a smile and looked at Fang Qiu, asking, "What can you say about this letter, Fang?"
Seeing the letter in Jiang Miaoyu's hand, Fang Qiu laughed and said, "From where it came, back where it goes."
"Don't you think you're being a bit heartless, Fang?"
Fang Qiu remained silent.
Jiang Miaoyu sighed and put the letter away, then looked at Fang Qiu.
She looked at him with a smile, making him feel uneasy.
What did this mean?
They stood in silence for half a minute.
Jiang Miaoyu then sighed and said, "Fang, shouldn't you ask for my phone number? Otherwise, how will we contact each other to discuss the opening ceremony? Do you want to block me from eating again like today?"
"Oh, oh!"
Fang Qiu finally reacted, quickly taking out his phone to record Jiang Miaoyu's number.
Jiang Miaoyu sighed inwardly.
It seemed this Fang Qiu had little experience with such matters.
Shouldn't a boy take the initiative to ask for a girl's number? Should a girl have to take the lead?
After exchanging numbers, the two chatted as they walked to the cafeteria.
The passing students looked at them in surprise.
The school beauty was walking with a boy?!!
What a heart-wrenching piece of news!
Could the school beauty have fallen in love so quickly?
Who is this guy with the school beauty? He's handsome, but he doesn't deserve her!
Almost all the boys mentally attacked Fang Qiu with the most vicious words.
In just a few seconds, they had mentally condemned Fang Qiu to the lowest depths.
The two, however, paid no attention to the gazes around them. They parted at the cafeteria entrance, with Jiang Miaoyu going to find her classmates and Fang Qiu going to find his roommates.
When he found the three, he discovered they had already eaten and hadn't saved a spot for him.
These gluttons!
Fang Qiu mentally scolded them and looked around, finding the first floor of the cafeteria already packed, with many people standing and waiting for others to finish and move.
With no choice, he went to the second floor, where they served stir-fried dishes.
He didn't have much money, so he had to spend more.
At the counter, he ordered the cheapest stir-fried potato threads.
Seeing the money deducted from his card, Fang Qiu felt a bit heartache.
Actually, he hadn't brought much money to college, thinking he could support himself and it was time to repay his parents. He couldn't ask them for money to go to college.
So he had only brought a month's living expenses, but in less than ten days, he had already spent almost two-thirds of it.
This spending was a bit too fast!
It seemed he needed to find a way to earn some money besides studying medicine.
Fang Qiu thought as he ate.
Just as he was halfway through, a person ran up to him, exclaiming, "Brother? You're here too!"
Fang Qiu looked up.
The rich kid, Tang Heng.
He was holding a plate of meat and looking at Fang Qiu in surprise.
Tang Heng glanced at the dish in front of Fang Qiu and flattered him, "Brother, you're so frugal!"
Fang Qiu looked at Tang Heng helplessly.
What part of me looks frugal to you?
I don't have money. If I had money, I wouldn't be eating this!
He buried his head and continued eating, ignoring Tang Heng.
Tang Heng didn't mind Fang Qiu's coldness and sat down opposite him, saying, "Brother, where's your girlfriend?"
Just that one sentence made Fang Qiu instantly judge that this rich kid was definitely crazy!
To avoid further misunderstanding, he had to explain, "She's not my girlfriend, and she's not your sister-in-law."
"She will be eventually!"
Tang Heng said confidently as he ate, "I've observed, and she's the prettiest girl in our school. I think only she can match you, brother."
He has good taste!
Fang Qiu immediately revised his previous judgment. Tang Heng's brain was definitely fine, at least in terms of taste.
After finishing the last bite, Fang Qiu wiped his mouth with a napkin, observed Tang Heng's posture, and said, "Your right shoulder joint is slightly dislocated."
Tang Heng was so surprised that he stopped eating.
"Brother, how did you know? I do feel some discomfort when I raise my arm."
"Since you gave me two bottles of water yesterday, I'll treat you as a return."
Fang Qiu stood up, walked to Tang Heng, and gently patted his shoulder joint, saying, "It's fixed."
Tang Heng heard a "crack" in his shoulder. When he moved it, the discomfort was really gone!
He looked at Fang Qiu in shock, his eyes full of disbelief.
Just a light pat and it was fixed?
Tang Heng, though eccentric, knew what was normal.
How could it be fixed with just a light pat in normal circumstances?!
He stared at Fang Qiu, who instantly became a towering figure in his mind.
