"Advance! And take the head of the Dragon Princess!"
With a roar, the soldiers, following the commander's order, let out a ground-shaking battle cry and surged toward Tiarra's nest like a powerful wave.
With such a large number of humans, no magical beast could possibly win. They wouldn't even be able to resist and would be overwhelmed and killed by sheer numbers.
"Tia, Tiarra! If this continues, the entire nest will be destroyed!"
"There's no need to worry about that, but it might be a bit damaged, indeed."
"Is, is it really okay?"
"Yes, it's fine. I won't let any more humans get closer."
Tiarra extended her hand toward the humans. Instantly, a massive flame enveloped a hundred humans. In that moment, their battle cries turned into screams.
"U, uuuuuuuhhhh!?"
"St, stop it, pleaseee!"
The soldiers' screams echoed so loudly that Rain couldn't help but cover her ears. The surrounding soldiers, including the commander, had stopped in their tracks.
The power was overwhelming. Such a spell, in the human world, might not even be usable by the greatest sages. This was a different type of magic from what Tiarra had used a few days ago.
This time, although the range was shorter, it was a spell that caused more suffering. Choosing such a spell here was very much like Tiarra.
When Rain glanced at Tiarra, she was indeed grinning at the sight of the suffering humans.
"Don't, don't waver! There's still a chance to win!"
The commander desperately tried to encourage the terrified soldiers. At the same time, he pounded his chest to try to overcome his own fear.
Tiarra's power was beyond what he had imagined, but the battle wasn't lost yet. If they could just get close enough, they could still deal a fatal blow.
To achieve this, the commander himself would lead the charge.
"Prepare yourself, Dragon Princess—!"
"Lightning Arrow"
Just as the commander started running, Tiarra accurately pierced his chest.
At that moment, the soldiers felt a shock as if time had stopped.
The commander had been killed. And right before their eyes.
They had formed a formation to protect the running commander from Tiarra's attacks, leaving no openings. Yet, the commander had still been killed.
"That, that guy... He only targeted the commander..."
"What, what kind of magic control is this..."
The soldiers recalled their previous fear. Tiarra had struck the commander without harming them.
The more powerful a spell, the harder it is to control. Yet, she had targeted a single human with pinpoint accuracy, like threading a needle.
She was nothing short of a monster.
"R, run for it!!"
The soldiers, having lost their commander, turned their backs on Tiarra like dogs and started retreating along the path they had come.
"Hey, Tiarra..."
"Hehe. What a magnificent sight, Rain."
Rain looked at Tiarra again... and there she was, the Dragon Princess, mocking the humans.
