"Here it is!" The rickshaw driver, incentivized by triple the usual fare, performed his duty with great dedication, pulling Jiang Chen all the way to the staff building of the Kowloon Hotel.

This was a typical old district of Hong Kong, with the narrow entrance to the staff building plastered with various posters, one of which advertised Wing Chun, complete with illustrations of its techniques, almost identical to the one Jiang Chen had previously torn down.

At that moment, footsteps sounded from behind. Jiang Chen instinctively turned his head and saw a young man wearing a baseball cap and carrying a bag over one shoulder walking up from behind. He was holding a flyer as well. Seeing Jiang Chen with a similar flyer, he asked indifferently, "Hey, kid, are you here to learn martial arts?"

"Yes," Jiang Chen replied with a smile. "Are you here to learn too?"

"Let's see first. At the very least, the person teaching must be qualified to be my master, Huang Liang!" The young man smirked. "Kid, what's your name?"

"Jiang Chen." He responded calmly, adding with a teasing smile, "Then it's up to you, Brother Huang."

"Don't worry." Huang Liang nodded proudly, as if he were some great master.

The two then went up to the rooftop together. The rooftop was very spacious, making it an ideal place for martial arts training, which was why Yip Man's friend had recommended it to him. Unfortunately, due to Wing Chun's lack of reputation in Hong Kong at the time, Yip Man had not managed to recruit any disciples for over a month, despite the excellent venue.

This was originally a residential building with many residents. One of the neighbors, Auntie Wu, who worked as a tablecloth cleaner at the Kowloon Hotel, saw the spaciousness and asked Yip Man to use the rooftop for drying clothes. Yip Man, being a good neighbor, could not refuse, and soon the once-empty rooftop became a laundry area.

When Jiang Chen and Huang Liang arrived, they saw a rather plump auntie sitting leisurely on the rooftop, with clothes and tablecloths hanging all around.

Looking around, they saw no one else on the rooftop. Huang Liang immediately asked the auntie suspiciously, "Hey, are you the one teaching Wing Chun?"

The auntie gave them a half-smile, then turned her head and shouted loudly towards the clothesline, "Master Yip, someone has come to learn martial arts!"

Hearing the call, a middle-aged man hurriedly emerged from behind the clothesline, his face showing a mix of surprise and joy. Before he even reached them, his voice carried over, "Are you here to learn martial arts?"

His tone was gentle but tinged with urgency. After all, he had been running the school for over a month without a single disciple, and his family was already in dire straits, struggling to pay for his child's tuition and rent. This made Yip Man, who had planned to make a living by teaching martial arts, quite anxious.

"Let's see. I don't even know what Wing Chun is," Huang Liang said disappointedly, his expression lacking any politeness.

Yip Man, unperturbed, said as he walked over, "Let me introduce it to you. Wing Chun is a close-range combat style from the south..."

"Enough!" Huang Liang waved his hand impatiently. "You don't need to tell me all that. Let's fight. If I lose, I'll pay the tuition."

Yip Man smiled and replied, "Alright, you two can come at me together." However, his words were tinged with a hint of bitterness and self-mockery. Both he and his wife, Zhang Yongcheng, came from wealthy families. If not for the war and the decline of their family, he would never have agreed to such a request. But now, driven by necessity, he had no choice.

As the saying goes, even a hero can be brought down by a lack of money. Everyone has their moments of hardship, and even a Wing Chun master is no exception. Jiang Chen understood this better than Yip Man and could empathize with his complex feelings.

"Master Yip, please don't misunderstand. I am Jiang Chen, and I am here to learn martial arts sincerely, with no intention of provoking you." As he spoke, Jiang Chen took a few steps back to show that he and Huang Liang were not a team.

Yip Man nodded slightly,

Yip Man nodded slightly,

Seeing Yip Man's stance, Huang Liang became even more dismissive. He placed his bag on a nearby box, twisted his neck, and assumed a boxing stance, his body lightly swaying, ready to attack. Although his stance looked good, both Yip Man and Jiang Chen could easily see that his feet were unstable, his lower body weak, and his movements lacked any real form—just a showy facade!

He swayed in place, then launched a probing attack, but found Yip Man as steady as ever, not even flinching. Annoyed, Huang Liang feinted and then threw a right hook at Yip Man's head!

Jiang Chen saw that Huang Liang's movements were full of flaws. If it were him, he could have taken Huang Liang down in one move. Yip Man, of course, was no different. He had no intention of hurting him, so he raised his hand and deflected Huang Liang's right hook at the last moment.

Seeing his attack blocked, Huang Liang began to speed up, throwing punches wildly in a continuous assault, determined to knock Yip Man down. Unfortunately, his attacks, though fierce, lacked form and were ineffective against a master like Yip Man, who deflected them all with ease, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor throughout.

After a prolonged attack, Huang Liang grew both angry and desperate. He cleverly feinted, slowing his punches, and was immediately struck by Yip Man's elbow to the neck. Seizing the opportunity, Huang Liang then aimed a punch at Yip Man's ribs!

The ribs are a vulnerable and important part of the body, as they protect the internal organs. A heavy blow to this area can cause breathing difficulties, knock a person down, or even render them unconscious.

Yip Man, a master, smiled and applied force with his elbow and left hand on Huang Liang's neck. Before Huang Liang could even touch Yip Man, he was pushed back by a powerful force, stumbling several steps before regaining his
