While Lisha and Lan were discussing the cost, Ang was making his way to the glowing moss field. He hadn't been there in a long time and didn't know what the situation was like.
The glowing moss field wasn't far from the Immortal Temple in a straight line, perhaps only separated by a cliff wall. However, to get there, one had to pass through a winding cave, so Ang couldn't just go back whenever he wanted.
The reason for this return was that if the crops were growing well, they would be entering the second growth stage, and Ang needed to go back to fertilize and water them. If they weren't growing well, then... he would plant some mushrooms.
A small zombie followed behind Ang, and a tall, muscular bull skull hunched over behind the small zombie, like a little maid. There was a small indentation on its cheek, which was probably why the bull skull was so obedient.
After several turns, Ang and his group returned to the glowing moss field. The situation here hadn't changed much because Phyllin had already designated this area as a no-go zone, and no one could enter.
As they approached the moss field, Ang suddenly remembered something and glanced at the corner. He remembered there used to be a skeleton here, but now it was gone.
The necromancer had initially chosen a slender skeleton, but Phyllin had killed it with a Soul Abyss, leaving behind a skeleton. This skeleton was now missing.
Either someone had moved it, or it had generated a soul and run away.
Uh, it didn't run. It had dug a hole in the soil in the field and hidden itself. As soon as Ang stepped into the soil, it reached out and grabbed Ang's foot, trying to drag him into the soil.
However, the awkward part was that it couldn't drag Ang, and instead, it pulled itself out of the soil.
The slender skeleton fiercely jumped out of the soil and punched Ang's face.
Ang instinctively pushed forward with both hands, sending the slender skeleton flying into the field, knocking over a long row of crops.
"Ow!" Ang cried out. As a skeleton who tended to the crops, he couldn't bear to see the crops being destroyed, so he instinctively shouted.
His shout, however, was misunderstood by the small zombie, which darted out and fiercely collided with the slender skeleton that had just gotten up, sending it flying again.
The slender skeleton was very sturdy. The small zombie could knock the bull skull's calf off with one collision, but it couldn't disintegrate the slender skeleton. It just sent it flying deeper into the field, knocking over another row of crops.
Ang was really worried now. He shouted "Ow!" and ran into the field, but the crops made him instinctively pull back his foot.
In the past, the rows of crops had gaps, and stepping between them wouldn't damage them. But now, the glowing moss grew between the rows, so there was no place to step without damaging something.
In a moment of desperation, Ang used the Pollination Spell to wrap around his feet, lifting himself up and floating over the field. The Pollination Spell essentially uses wind elements to wrap around pollen, essentially creating a wind vortex.
Floating above the small zombie and the slender skeleton, he reached out and grabbed them, lifting them up like chicks and throwing them out of the field.
The small zombie landed solidly on the rocks outside the field, but being a zombie, it was tough and suffered no damage.
The slender skeleton, however, didn't act like a newly born skeleton. Whether it was the punch it threw at Ang's face or now, it twisted in mid-air, did a backflip, landed lightly on its feet, bent its knees to absorb the impact, and then rolled forward, completely neutralizing Ang's throw.
It sprang up unharmed and ran away.
Want to run? Ang was angry. Destroying his crops and then trying to run?
Ang's eyes glowed blue, and a Soul Impact hit the slender skeleton.
Soul Impact is the most basic skill of undead creatures, like a minotaur using its head to ram, a natural ability that best demonstrates the strength of an undead creature's soul.
Ang had already condensed a Soul Heart and was at the Gold Skeleton level, though his bones hadn't yet metalized. Compared to the newly born soul of the slender skeleton, his soul was like the difference between an abyss and a puddle.
Without using his full strength, the slender skeleton was knocked forward, dazed for a long time before it could get up. When it finally did, it found itself tied up with the bull skull.
Ang carefully studied the bound slender skeleton and found that it had a strong fighting spirit. Even though it was tied up and Ang's soul was much stronger, it still struggled fiercely to attack, showing no sign of fear, much more aggressive than the small zombie.
He also studied its bones and found that the slender skeleton's flexibility mainly came from its joints, which could move at much greater angles than human bones. This was a humanoid skeleton, but not a human one.
"What kind of bones are these?" Ang asked.
Who was he asking? Of course, it was Negris, but Negris acted as if he hadn't heard and gave no response.
Didn't hear? Ang tilted his head, remembering that to ask Negris a question, he needed to call his divine name. He had gotten used to Negris being projected onto him, so he had forgotten this.
"Negris." Ang called out the name of the God of Knowledge.
Negris knew he couldn't hide anymore and reluctantly said, "I don't know. Who would recognize what a skeleton was in life? Besides, the skeleton might not be complete. If something is missing, it's even harder to identify. For all we know, this skeleton might have had four arms in life."
He knew many humanoid creatures, but who would study the differences in a pile of bones? If Ang hadn't compared them, he would have thought it was a human skeleton.
Four arms? Ang was stunned. He flipped the slender skeleton over and saw its deformed shoulder blades, which indeed looked like joints for two more arms.
Thinking about it, Ang removed his own arm bones and tried to fit them onto the slender skeleton, but they didn't fit.
So, what kind of bones fit into these shoulder blades?
This question lingered in Ang's mind until he finished tending to the glowing moss field and returned to the temple. He searched through the pile of bones Phyllin had given him and finally found two bones that fit into the shoulder blades.
These two bones didn't look like arm bones but rather...
"More like wing bones. If they were covered in feathers, they would be wings. Could this skeleton be from a bird-person or an angel?" Negris hesitated.
