What is the liquid condensed from the Resting Wind, is it the liquefied breath of death?
"It should be, the condensed essence of the dense breath of death." Everyone gathered around to observe, studying for a while before reaching a conclusion. Then someone asked, "What is it for?"
"Let's not discuss its uses yet. First, let's collect it; it seems to be dissipating." They tried to collect it, but when they did, they discovered its peculiar nature. It wasn't really a liquid but more like a mist that scattered when touched, disappearing as it spread, like a dry mist, only more solid.
After a busy session, about 200 milliliters of the 'liquid' of death's breath were collected in a 100-milliliter glass bottle, with the rest dissipating.
When the lid was closed and it settled, only half remained, meaning only a quarter was collected, the rest having dissipated. Feilin was heartbroken, pounding his chest and stomping his feet.
"Sir, can I keep these bottles of the liquid of death's breath and the Everlasting Springstone for research?" Feilin asked.
He was incredibly curious about this liquid of death's breath. The Resting Wind had blown for a thousand years, and this was the first time he had seen it in liquid form. Without a doubt, it held countless secrets, perhaps even the origin of the Resting Wind.
As for the Everlasting Springstone, though valuable, Feilin knew Ang had many, so he boldly asked for it, otherwise, once this bottle was used up, he would have no materials left for further research.
Ang didn't mind, nodding and then pointing to the twenty corpses of the heavily armored swordsmen, saying, "Mine."
"Ah? All of them?" Feilin was pained. These heavily armored swordsmen were all strong materials, but more precious were their armors.
In this world, iron and skilled craftsmen were scarce; no one could afford to make a suit of armor weighing seventy to eighty pounds, let alone twenty. When he and Anna divided the spoils, the focus was on these armors.
He originally thought Ang wouldn't want these things. Last time, Ang showed no interest in the equipment of the two Holy Knights, but unexpectedly, he wanted all of them this time.
Though pained, Feilin didn't hesitate, quickly having the corpses packed and prepared to send to Ang. After all, his wife had already run off with Ang, so a few corpses were nothing.
"No need." Ang picked up the corpses, transferring them one by one to the Resting Palace.
The enormous capacity made Feilin and Anna envious, their teeth aching. They had spatial rings, but they were only good for storing gold, silver, and secret documents. Twenty corpses weighed nearly two tons, and they had never heard of a spatial item that could hold two tons.
After loading the spoils, the four of them rode Lightning back to the Lich City. He had been away from the Lich City for three days and two nights, and he was worried about the crops in the fields.
He wasn't afraid that no one would water them; he had instructed the minotaur aunt to water them on time. He was afraid that the minotaur family would eat all the beet leaves.
...
Back at the Lich City, after tending to the crops, Ang climbed to the top of the pit and transferred the largest Everlasting Springstone slab. After a night of blowing, Ang collected five large barrels of the liquid of death's breath.
He took out the corpses of the heavily armored swordsmen, placing two in the liquid of death's breath, two in the Soul Soil, two coated with Sacred Essence, two treated with the Purifying Spell, and two left on the ground at the top of the pit, exposed to the Resting Wind.
There were five control groups in total, to see which method was best for the corpses.
The remaining ten, under Nigris's 'persuasion,' were all turned into zombies.
"Don't you think you exposed a serious problem in this battle?" Nigris asked.
Ang shook his head.
"Your Scythe of Death has too many restrictions, your magic attacks are weak and do no damage, the Angel Skull only has one big move, the small zombies are good at roaming but can't hold the front line. If you encounter similar heavily armored swordsmen next time who aren't afraid of your Scythe of Death, what will you use to block them?!" Nigris asked.
Ang pointed at it.
"Me? You want me to block? I'm only half a meter long! Have some conscience! I'll die!" Nigris was furious.
Ang tilted his head: "You won't die."
Nigris was speechless. That's right, it was a projection; even if its body was destroyed, it wouldn't die. And thinking about it, it was indeed a suitable shield, with hard scales and high magic resistance. A perfect shield.
So am I destined to be a shield?
Confused, Nigris scratched its head, roaring, "There's one right here! Can't you resurrect them to block for you? Are you an idiot? You're leading me astray!!!"
"Oh." Under Nigris's angry 'persuasion,' Ang turned the corpses into zombies and discovered a problem: the equipment was too heavy for the newly created zombies to carry.
This was awkward. Nigris awkwardly scratched its face: "Can't carry it? Are zombies so weak? Mistake, mistake."
The path of heavily armored zombies was blocked, so Nigris had to think of another way. After much thought, the best solution was still for it to block.
"Kabada, I'm a Bronze Dragon, the God of Knowledge, not a shield. Wait, leave this breastplate for me; I'll have Feilin modify it. This round shield is also for me. Oh, I shouldn't have let Lightning be the mount; at least a mount isn't as dangerous as a shield."
Nigris sighed deeply, realizing it had tricked Lightning into being a mount without good intentions, hoping to avoid being a mount, but now it was destined to be a shield, which was infuriating.
Two days passed, and the other five control groups of corpses had already changed. The corpses soaked in the liquid of death's breath completed the toughening process in just two days, with two Soul Fires sprouting, turning them into Toughened Zombies.
In other words, the liquid of death's breath had created two Toughened Zombies in just two days, which was about thirty times faster than the small zombies.
The small zombies took several months to toughen, and that was under the condition of being fast and diligent in hunting. If they wandered aimlessly, it might take one or two years to toughen.
Scratching the skin and flesh, the bones of the zombies were found to be very solid, with fewer of the normal bone cavities. If they continued to soak, the bones and flesh would further strengthen, with effects similar to Ang guiding the cold breath of the Resting Wind.
Not everyone knew how to guide that cold breath. In the temple, there was one that didn't. The Silver Skeleton had swept the temple for a thousand years. Normally, its soul should have grown to the point of forming a Soul Heart, gaining intelligence, and its bones turning into gold.
However, it didn't. It seemed to be missing a crucial link, and its evolution had stopped, remaining at its original level until today.
Anything that doesn't advance will regress. After a thousand years without progress, the bones of the Silver Skeleton couldn't be examined closely, as they were full of small cavities due to bone loss. It was only because it was a Silver Skeleton that it hadn't rotted away.
Another five barrels of the liquid of death's breath were collected the second night. Ang transferred them to the Resting Palace, planning to take them to the temple for the Silver Skeleton to soak in. However, as soon as they were transferred to the Resting Palace, something strange happened. The liquid of death's breath dissipated at an unprecedented speed, and in a blink, more than half was gone.
Ang tilted his head, confused, and called Nigris back. The two of them stared dumbfounded as the liquid of death's breath in the five barrels continuously dissipated and eventually vanished without a trace.
"Does this place 'eat' the liquid of death's breath?" Nigris asked in surprise.
