Diji’s memory of his previous life was not complete, but he felt that in this life on Earth, he had not attended university. When Fang Xue asked, he hesitated for a moment before saying, "I learned from a herbalist named Xue Tuo; I never went to medical school."
Xue Tuo was a top physician in the Ji Kingdom, but Diji referred to him as a herbalist.
"Xiao Mu..." An excited and surprised voice came, followed by a middle-aged man leading four or five firefighters in camouflage uniforms walking over.
From the dew on their clothes and their tired expressions, it was clear they had been searching all night.
"Dad." Yu Mu, excited, tried to run over, but she stumbled and fell to the ground after just one step.
The middle-aged man quickly rushed over to support Yu Mu, and Diji felt relieved. Although he could see the buildings of the Wuchuan Temple, the distance was definitely not close. Now that someone had found them, he didn’t need to continue carrying Yu Mu.
"Dad, it was Big Brother Diji who saved me and carried me all the way here." Yu Mu immediately thought of Diji, who had saved her.
The middle-aged man clearly loved his daughter very much. He immediately came to Diji, held Diji’s hands with both of his, and said repeatedly, "Thank you, thank you, thank you for saving my daughter."
From his excited expression, Diji could see that he was genuinely grateful.
"Dad, Big Brother Di is also a medical student. He saved me from a venomous snake bite." Yu Mu added.
Hearing his daughter’s words, the man was even more delighted. "I’m Yu Jianfu, the director of Aibo Hospital in Lincuan City. If you want to work at a hospital, you can come to mine."
As he spoke, Yu Jianfu took out a business card, wrote a few words on it, and handed it to Diji. "Diji, you can use this card to start working at Aibo Hospital anytime."
He didn’t specify what position Diji would take, but Aibo Hospital had many positions, and he could certainly arrange one for Diji. Diji’s ability to detoxify under such conditions indicated that his medical skills were quite good.
"Thank you, Director Yu." Diji accepted the card without hesitation. Having just arrived, if he couldn’t find a place in the future, having such a job would be nice.
With a guide, Diji naturally didn’t rest further. The group walked on the mountain path for half a day, and by evening, they reached a mountain road.
Yu Jianfu asked Diji many questions along the way, but Diji’s answers were vague. Regarding saving Yu Mu, Diji only mentioned that he had seen the method to detoxify the snake bite before.
Yu Jianfu didn’t know that Diji wasn’t very clear about his past, assuming Diji didn’t want to say more, so he didn’t continue asking.
A minibus was already waiting by the roadside. Diji fell asleep as soon as he got in. The minibus drove for over eight hours on the mountain road, turning left and right, before finally stopping outside a temple.
As soon as the vehicle stopped, Diji woke up, but Fang Xue and Yu Mu were still sleeping.
Yu Jianfu, concerned about his daughter’s health, suggested Diji go to Lincuan with them, but Diji declined. After a brief rest outside the temple, the minibus started again, heading to Lincuan City.
...
After Yu Jianfu and the others left, Diji left the parking lot and stood in front of a massive temple gate. The temple’s name, Wuchuan Temple, was carved in golden letters outside.
In the early morning, with no one around, the three golden characters of Wuchuan Temple had an indescribable mysterious aura under the moonlight.
Diji sat down in front of a stone statue outside the temple and fell asleep again after a short while.
After an unknown amount of time, a noisy sound woke Diji. He opened his eyes to find the place already bustling with people.
Despite being deep in the Wuchuan Mountains, Wuchuan Temple was incredibly popular. Groups of tourists and believers came to burn incense. Some kind-hearted tourists, seeing Diji with messy hair, ragged clothes, and a cloth bag, offered him some bread and water.
"Diji..." A surprised voice interrupted Diji as he was eating. He looked up to see a girl in a tight dress, carrying a cartoon backpack, staring at him in disbelief.
Behind her was a younger boy, wearing a large travel bag and a black tracksuit.
Although Diji had gained some memories of his previous life from the gray stone, those memories were not very complete. At least, he didn’t recognize the boy and girl in front of him.
"Diji, don’t you recognize me? I’m Liang Qian, your high school classmate..." Liang Qian didn’t continue, sensing that Diji might have been mentally affected and was somewhat dazed. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have come to such a remote place in the Wuchuan Mountains and looked so disheveled. She sighed inwardly, knowing she couldn’t help much with such a situation.
"Here’s a thousand yuan, take it. I can’t help you much more." Liang Qian took out her wallet, counted ten bills, and handed them to Diji.
"I have a few hundred too." The young man behind Liang Qian quickly took out a few hundred yuan and handed them to Diji.
Diji finished the last piece of bread, stood up, and waved his hand. "Thank you, Liang Qian. I don’t need money right now, but I need your help with something."
"Ah..." Liang Qian let out a sigh of relief. "Diji, I thought you had mental issues because of what happened with Ziyu."
Despite her words, Liang Qian still felt some doubt. In her eyes, Diji’s gaze seemed to have something she had never seen before.
Diji knew the name Ziyu; she was the woman he had divorced in his previous life, Shen Ziyu.
Diji didn’t have the mood to think about Ziyu right now. Over the past few days, he had completely realized that to survive here, he needed to rely on his identity from his previous life.
However, the memories he had gained from his previous life were not complete, so he wanted to ask someone familiar with his past.
"Tell me what you need, as long as I can help..." Liang Qian paused, her tone becoming hesitant. "Diji, if it’s about Ziyu, I really can’t help. Besides, besides..."
Diji smiled. "I did indeed hold a grudge about Ziyu, but after many experiences, that matter is long over. I need your help with something else."
