Chapter 2: Lost in the 90s (1)
In the corridor outside the gynecology department, four male interns in white coats squatted neatly, only this posture could best conceal their embarrassment, making the sudden rise in their lower bodies less noticeable.
Zhang Yang walked out with his head hanging low and squatted down like them, still in a state of excitement.
A classmate named Chen Guowei smiled maliciously and whispered, "I never would have thought, you really have guts, the term 'brazenly lecherous' must be talking about people like you, right?" Zhang Yang smiled, still not used to this way of talking.
Soon, the sound of high heels could be heard, and Lin Xiaoli walked out with a red face. When she passed by Zhang Yang, she suddenly stopped, bit her lower lip, and glared at him angrily, "Pervert!"
Zhang Yang looked at Lin Xiaoli's back innocently and said in surprise, "She actually insulted me, defaming my innocence!"
Hong Ling followed out and glanced at Zhang Yang with disdain, "Zhang Yang, you need to write a self-criticism and submit it. As an intern, you must strictly control your words and actions. Miss Lin was very angry, and Dean Zhou comforted her for a long time. She still feels wronged and says she's going to report you to the medical department!"
"What is she going to report me for?" Zhang Yang was really puzzled.
Several classmates said in unison, "For being a pervert!"
Zhang Yang snorted coldly, "She took off her clothes on her own, and Dean Zhou told me to use my fingers..." After saying this, he suddenly noticed that Dean Zhou was standing coldly at the gynecology department door. Zhang Yang realized he had caused trouble again and stood up awkwardly.
Dean Zhou nodded, "I will report your situation to the school tomorrow!" After saying this, she walked away without looking back, heading towards the elevator.
The interns' dormitory was right across from the county people's hospital, separated by a road. In a short time, Zhang Yang figured out a few things: his current identity and his living place. The latter was extremely important to him. What he needed most now was to lie down and have a good sleep to figure out the whole situation. Fortunately, he shared a dorm with Chen Guowei. From various signs, it seemed Chen Guowei didn't like him, a vocational school student, but Zhang Yang's adaptability was strong. He shamelessly followed Chen Guowei, the accidental guide, to find the dormitory first.
Just as they walked out of the hospital gate, they heard an angry voice, "Kid, you f***ing stand still!"
Zhang Yang and Chen Guowei turned around. A motorcycle roared up behind them. A tall, bald man was riding a Yamaha 400 road racer, with Lin Xiaoli, dressed in a red tight-fitting outfit, sitting sideways behind him. The man, about thirty years old, was burly and wore a colorful racing suit. He adjusted his sunglasses with his left hand and raised his head slightly, looking quite cool, "Which one?"
Zhang Yang then recognized the woman behind him as Lin Xiaoli. Although he had just arrived in this era, he was quite savvy in human relations. From the man's fierce appearance, he guessed that he was coming for him.
Lin Xiaoli pointed at Zhang Yang, "It's him!" The bald man was her boyfriend, Zhou Dagang, a social loafer who had been in labor re-education for three years for fighting. He was somewhat famous in the Beiguan area. When he heard that Lin Xiaoli had been sexually harassed by a young guy at the county people's hospital, he couldn't swallow his anger and immediately rushed over with her, just in time to intercept Zhang Yang.
Zhou Dagang turned off the motorcycle engine, walked up to Zhang Yang, took off his sunglasses, and glared at him fiercely, pointing at him with his right hand. Zhang Yang thought he was going to strike an acupoint and quietly adjusted his breathing, moving the acupoints on his chest slightly and using his internal energy to neutralize Zhou Dagang's force. However, Zhou Dagang's fingers had no internal strength, and Zhang Yang realized he had overestimated his opponent.
"You little punk, you dare to flirt with my girlfriend? Do you want to die?" Zhou Dagang pointed at Zhang Yang's chest forcefully.
"Let's talk it out, we are all interns at the county hospital..." Chen Guowei tried to explain.
Zhou Dagang glared at Chen Guowei fiercely, "So what if you're interns? Do interns get to touch my woman at will?"
Chen Guowei took a step back, scared. This matter had nothing to do with him, and he regretted saying anything.
Fortunately, Zhang Yang quickly took over the conversation, "Brother, I think there's been a misunderstanding. I was just following the dean's orders to examine her. I had no intention of disrespecting this young lady!"
Zhou Dagang was a scoundrel, and his relationship with Lin Xiaoli was just for fun, far from the point of marriage. He had initially planned to use this incident to extort some money. Hearing Zhang Yang's words, he thought the kid was scared and sneered, "Oh, you talk like a real gangster. Fine, since you're still a student, I won't make things too hard for you. But you can't touch my woman for free. How about this, you give me a thousand yuan as compensation for mental distress, and we'll call it even." A thousand yuan was a significant amount in the early 90s, equivalent to several months' salary for a regular doctor. Zhou Dagang was clearly trying to extort a large sum.
Zhang Yang didn't have a clear concept of money yet, but he understood that Zhou Dagang was asking for money. He smiled, "Sorry, I don't have a single cent on me!"
Zhou Dagang was furious at this, "You f***ing ungrateful little punk!" He raised his large hand and slapped Zhang Yang hard. He was genuinely angry and thought he needed to teach the kid a lesson.
Chen Guowei ran to the hospital security office in a flash, knowing that it was the only place he could seek help.
Seeing Zhou Dagang strike again, clearly aiming to slap him, Zhang Yang, who believed that a man could be killed but not humiliated, met him with his left hand, grabbing Zhou Dagang's right wrist. They were about the same height, but Zhang Yang was relatively thinner. Zhou Dagang thought he had Zhang Yang cornered, but he didn't expect the student's fingers to grip his wrist like an iron clamp. With a slight force, Zhou Dagang's entire right side went numb. He realized something was wrong; this student wasn't as weak as he looked.
Zhang Yang sneered, "Brother, don't push things too far!"
Zhou Dagang felt Zhang Yang's grip tightening, almost crushing his wrist bones. Surprised by Zhang Yang's strength, he was also a bit scared. He forced a smile, "Maybe it really was a misunderstanding..."
