Chapter 82

*Swish!* Kantu's monkey was kicked away, and in a swift dash, the attacker instantly appeared in front of the flying Kantu. Then, it pounced on Kantu, opened its mouth to reveal fangs, and bit down on his neck. In the next moment, still in shock and not yet recovered from the monkey's counterattack, the world before Kantu's eyes turned dark, and the system prompted him whether he wanted to respawn in the city.

"What's going on?" The Cleaner, who had noticed the abnormality behind him, turned around and asked. Lei Gong, who was fighting another monkey, also turned his head, his face showing surprise. Clearly, he had also heard the system notification about his teammate's death.

*Roar!* The monkey that had bitten Kantu to death suddenly turned and roared at Lei Gong, its mouth dripping with blood, making it look particularly ferocious.

"Be careful, Lei Gong. This monkey is not right." The Cleaner frowned as he saw the monkey turn around, his eyes fixed on the eyes of the monkey that had killed Kantu. Unlike the other monkeys, whose eyes had turned red and revealed a violent, bloodthirsty glow after their mutation, this monkey's eyes were grayish-white, somewhat like those of a zombie, but with a hint of intelligence.

*Swish!* The monkey roared and charged at Lei Gong. Lei Gong quickly operated several mechanical puppets to attack, while his body continuously moved into the minefield he and Kantu had set up. The few monkeys that had been trapped in the minefield also began attacking Lei Gong, putting him in a difficult position.

Noticing the abnormality of this monkey, the Cleaner adjusted the direction of his mech and used the Werewolf Howl skill. The werewolf mech, like a werewolf howling at the full moon, roared and extended its claws, spinning forward rapidly. A monkey in front of the Cleaner was instantly hit by the rapidly spinning claws and flew away.

The two mechs spun for about 20 meters before stopping. During this distance, all the monkeys within a 5x20 meter range were hit and flown away. The monkey directly in front of the werewolf mech was suspended in mid-air, repeatedly swept by the claws as the mech continued to spin forward, gradually retreating.

*Boom!* A monkey chasing Lei Gong was blown away. However, at the same time, the gray-eyed monkey charged out, extending its claws to grab Lei Gong's chest.

*Bang!* A large wrench directly hit the claws that were reaching for Lei Gong's chest, sending them flying. Lei Gong's body kept retreating, and his feet moved selectively to avoid the landmines buried in the ground.

The gray-eyed monkey, which had been blocked by Lei Gong, did not advance. Instead, it kicked a small robot that was trying to flank it and hid behind another monkey chasing Lei Gong.

*Boom!* The monkey chasing Lei Gong stepped on a landmine and was blown away. The gray-eyed monkey, hiding behind the flying monkey, passed under its body and charged at Lei Gong again.

Although Lei Gong was retreating rapidly, the explosion's shockwave, despite not harming him, made his steps somewhat disordered. The shockwave from the explosion in front of the gray-eyed monkey was completely blocked by its companion, so it was not affected at all and quickly extended its claws to grab Lei Gong's neck.

Lei Gong, who was staggering, showed a fierce expression. His foot, which had been retreating to avoid the landmines, stepped on a landmine. The explosion of the landmine sent Lei Gong, who was already unstable, flying backward.

*Shriek!* The monkey's claws slashed across Lei Gong's chest as he was thrown back by the explosion. Lei Gong's combat suit was torn, leaving three deep, bone-visible scratches on his chest. If Lei Gong had been thrown back any slower, he might have been eviscerated by the monkey.

The shockwave from the landmine that Lei Gong stepped on not only sent him flying backward but also blocked the monkey's attack. A few pieces of metal from the exploding landmine hit the gray-eyed monkey, but the close-range explosion only caused a few small wounds. These wounds stopped bleeding immediately, showing the monkey's strong defense and recovery abilities. Moreover, the monkey seemed to feel no pain, even though the wounds were not small.

The gray-eyed monkey, after being momentarily stunned by the explosion, charged at Lei Gong again.

*Bang!* At this moment, a flying kick came, stopping the gray-eyed monkey that was about to chase Lei Gong. Looking at the werewolf mech in front of it, the monkey's intelligent gray eyes showed confusion, as if it couldn't understand why the werewolf was attacking it.

Although the monkey was confused, the Cleaner did not stop his actions. Two large, sharp claws flashed and crossed, tearing toward the monkey's chest. Sensing the power of the Cleaner's attack, the monkey's expression changed, and it suddenly raised its arms to block.

*Bang!* The Cleaner's tearing skill was blocked by the monkey, which surprised him. He had used this skill many times and encountered various actions from monsters, but this was the first time the tearing skill had been blocked.

This made the Cleaner suddenly feel that he was no longer fighting a monster that could be controlled by hate points and only knew how to attack. Instead, he was fighting a human. The opponent not only attacked but also knew how to block, as if it had martial arts skills.

Surprised that his move was blocked, the Cleaner's actions with the werewolf mech paused. The monkey, which had blocked the Cleaner's attack, did not hesitate and directly clawed at the werewolf mech's chest.

*Shriek...* A sharp scraping sound accompanied by sparks, as the monkey's claws left a deep scratch on the werewolf mech's chest. The force of the claw, which came down diagonally, was so great that it made the several-ton werewolf mech shake.

*Swish!* A sharp light flashed in the Cleaner's eyes, and the werewolf mech, which had been shaken, did not retreat but instead struck the monkey's head with a claw.

*Bang!* The gray-eyed monkey did not dodge but raised its left arm to block the claw that was about to hit its head, while simultaneously kicking the werewolf mech. If it were another monster, the Cleaner would have let the werewolf mech withstand the kick, as the mech's defense was strong and its size was large, and most monsters couldn't knock it down.

However, facing the aggressive kick from the gray-eyed monkey, and considering the Cleaner's previous experience with this monkey's strength, which was much greater than that of other monkeys, the werewolf mech quickly rotated on its left foot, dodging the kick while extending its right leg.

*Bang!* The gray-eyed monkey did not expect the Cleaner to control the werewolf mech so flexibly and was directly hit by the mech's spinning kick. The force of the kick, combined with the momentum of the rotation, sent the monkey flying.

*Thud!* The werewolf mech's right foot landed heavily on the ground, and the impact gave it the power to start moving. The Cleaner controlled the werewolf mech to chase the flying monkey.

The monkey, which had been kicked away, quickly reacted. Although its arm, which had blocked the werewolf mech's kick, was twisted and clearly broken, it seemed to feel no pain. After sliding on the ground for a distance, it struggled to stand up.

*Whoosh!* A serrated flying wheel came from a distance, bypassing the werewolf mech and heading for the monkey's eyes. The monkey, which was struggling to stand up, extended its arm to block the flying wheel.

*Swish!* The flying wheel made a sharp turn, dodging the monkey's attack. Because it had extended one arm to block the flying wheel, the monkey's attempt to stand up was slower. Just as the monkey's arm returned to the ground to support its body, the Cleaner controlled the werewolf mech to kick its abdomen while it was still half-lying on the ground. The monkey's body flew away again, and the werewolf mech continued to chase it.

*Bang!* The monkey's body hit a tree and fell down.

The werewolf mech, which had been chasing, jumped over a five-meter distance. Its legs bent and struck the monkey lying on the ground.

*Crack!* The werewolf mech's knee hit the gray-eyed monkey's back, making its body stiffen. Then, it slowly collapsed, its spine shattered by the werewolf mech's knee.

*Thud!* The werewolf mech's arms crossed in front of it, blocking its upper body from colliding with the tree due to inertia. The tree shook, and leaves rustled and fell.

"What is this thing? It's incredibly strong, doesn't feel pain, and even knows how to fight. Is it a monster, or does it feel like a human?" Lei Gong and Tao Hua Yan, who had dealt with the other monkeys, walked over. Tao Hua Yan looked at the gray-eyed monkey's body, which had been flattened by the werewolf mech, and asked in surprise.

"I've never encountered anything like this before, but this guy is worth a lot of points. 7000 points, equivalent to killing a small boss. How's Kantu?"

"He respawned at the safe base. I didn't let him come back. We've collected the Baidu Grass. We can return."

"You collected the Baidu Grass? Where did you find it?" The Cleaner, surprised, asked.

"Right where this monkey was standing. It must have been guarding the Baidu Grass. No wonder it costs 6000 points per plant on the market and is in high demand. What did Lei Gong get from the drop?"

"Three drops of mutated blood, which are materials for synthesizing potions, but I don't know what they're for. Two magnetic mines, a surgeon's scalpel, and a skill card. Hmm, a monster transformation card, what's this for?" Lei Gong gathered the drops.

"Transformation card?" The Cleaner and Tao Hua Yan were both surprised, as they had never heard of a monster transformation card before.

Monkey Transformation Card: Transform into a monkey, with the Giant Strength talent (increases player strength by 10%), duration 30 minutes, uses 0/3, requires transformation level 3.

"This should be a transformation card to assist players in battle, but I'm not sure how to learn the transformation skill." Tao Hua Yan analyzed after looking at the description of the monkey transformation card.

"This is probably a new item. Let's keep it for now and see what it's for. This monkey is strange. It seems to recognize the werewolf mech, and its grayish-white eyes, which are usually only seen on zombies. How did it end up with those eyes?" The Cleaner frowned in confusion.

"Where are you, Cleaner?" The Gambler, who hadn't been in touch for a while, sent a message.

"Doing a mission. What's up?"
