Seeing such a hidden robot, the scavenger seemed to grasp something and looked at Sang Sang. Sensing the scavenger's gaze, which seemed to penetrate straight into his heart, Sang Sang hid behind the werewolf, somewhat afraid. The werewolf, who had been somewhat gentle towards the scavenger, now showed hostility again.

"Let's not worry about this for now. Break through in the direction of seven o'clock and leave here first." Watching the monsters in the footage encircling them, the scavenger didn't delve deeper into the fleeting possibility in his mind and quickly made the decision to break through.

Releasing the werewolf mech, the scavenger charged forward. Kantu provided fire support, and the scavenger quickly cleared the monsters on the path ahead. The werewolf carried the little girl and Taohuayan in the middle of the group. Leigong laid down mines and released self-destructing mechanical puppets at the back of the group to stop the monsters from pursuing.

The group ran madly in the opposite direction of the safe base, while the monsters behind them charged forward relentlessly, increasing the pressure on everyone. Just as everyone was focused on rushing forward, ignoring the situation above them, an eagle began circling overhead.

"Hand Sang Sang over to the fatty for care, werewolf, come and help. Kantu, help Leigong cover the rear." Seeing the monsters getting closer and the endless stream of monsters ahead, the scavenger shouted to the werewolf.

Hesitating with Sang Sang on his back, the werewolf felt the pressure from the monsters. Finally, he put the little girl down, gave the fatty a warning look, and rushed to the front of the group. Kantu turned around and fired at the pursuing monsters. Although many monsters were killed, there was no time to pick up the loot; escaping was the most important task.

With the werewolf's help and the scavenger's serious expression, the scavenger quickly operated the werewolf mech, attacking even more agilely and sharply than the werewolf. The group's speed increased significantly.

"Come, I'll carry you." Taohuayan, holding a computer and constantly typing to guide the scavenger's breakout, squatted down and said to Sang Sang, who was lagging behind, biting her lip. While Taohuayan was not good at fighting, he excelled in computers and running.

Seeing Taohuayan squat down, the little girl took a step back, somewhat afraid. But feeling like a burden, she hesitated and then, with Taohuayan's help, sat on his neck, her feet resting on his chest, and her hands holding his round head.

"Move your hands up a bit, they're blocking my view. You're much thinner than kids your age." Feeling his view blocked by Sang Sang's small hands, Taohuayan reminded her, and she moved her hands up. Sensing Sang Sang's weight, a hint of doubt flashed in Taohuayan's narrow eyes.

Seeing that the zombie was actually a smart robot, Taohuayan, like the scavenger, thought of many things. Especially in the real world, the relationship between smart robots and humans was not harmonious. Remembering the gambler's warning that the enemies were not just players, and that Sang Sang had not aged in decades, Taohuayan made many speculations.

For example, Sang Sang might not be human at all, but a smart robot covered in flesh. Smart robots' intelligence could grow, but their metal bodies would not grow on their own without modification.

But feeling the weight of the little girl on his neck, Taohuayan instantly dismissed this speculation. The girl's body was very soft, not like a metal body covered in flesh. Holding Taohuayan's head, he could feel the girl's rapid heartbeat and breathing, as well as the warmth of her hands.

All of this indicated that Sang Sang was human, not a smart robot in a human skin. But if not a robot, what was she? Taohuayan couldn't help but be puzzled. According to the old butler, Officer Peter, and the case files, Sang Sang had existed decades ago and hadn't grown at all, making it hard for Taohuayan to determine what she was.

"Is the fatty's route wrong? I feel like there are more monsters ahead." As Taohuayan was lost in thought, the scavenger, who was clearing the monsters ahead, shouted.

"Wait a moment." Taohuayan shook off his doubts, ran while carrying Sang Sang, and typed on the computer in his arms. After a few seconds: "The monsters seem to know our breakout direction and have adjusted their distribution. Take this route."

Seeing the feedback from the surveillance, Taohuayan planned a new breakout route. The scavenger and the werewolf started running along the new route. After a short distance, the scavenger felt the pressure decrease significantly and continued to clear the monsters ahead.

"Blocked again, what's going on?" Less than three minutes later, the scavenger shouted.

"Blocked again?" Taohuayan, who was telling Leigong and Kantu to be wary of the pursuers, was stunned and then adjusted the surveillance to the front of the group. He gave the scavenger another route.

But less than two minutes later, the scavenger found the path blocked again. Taohuayan felt that the monsters seemed to see their plans, even avoiding the minefield set up to stop the pursuers.

"I feel like we're under surveillance." The scavenger, while fighting the monsters, asked in the team channel.

"I have the same feeling, but I've checked all the surveillance footage, and there's no sign of the enemy. Unless these monsters have wireless communication devices to report back to a hidden boss, who then adjusts the encirclement." Taohuayan was also puzzled.

"What's going on?" The scavenger, frowning, felt someone tap his shoulder and turned to see the werewolf, asking in surprise. The werewolf slapped a monster away and pointed to the sky.

"Eagle?" Looking up, the scavenger saw an eagle circling overhead and instantly understood: "Kantu, shoot down that eagle."

"Eagle! Damn, are these monsters smarter than humans?" Taohuayan, unable to look up comfortably, saw the eagle that had been circling for a while and cursed. Now he knew why their plans were always being foiled.

An eagle was perched above the scavenger's group, looking down and clearly seeing everything below. How the eagle transmitted the information was not something they needed to worry about.

Bang! Hearing the scavenger's order, Kantu switched to a sniper rifle and shot down the eagle. The eagle was not large compared to other mutated birds and had shown no hostility, so no one had noticed its presence or thought the monster commander could use birds for surveillance.

"If all the monsters are this smart, I might as well quit." After the eagle was shot down and a new breakout route was planned, the team advanced for over ten minutes without being blocked again.

"Enter the forest, we'll circle back to the safe base. Being chased like this, our ammunition supply is a big problem." The scavenger checked his mech's energy gauge and looked at the panting werewolf.

"Circling back is fine, we've shaken off most of the pursuers. But what about Sang Sang and the werewolf?" After temporarily escaping the pursuers, Taohuayan, exhausted, sat down. Although Sang Sang was very light, the nearly two hours of running had taken a toll even on the very fit Taohuayan.

"Uh... thanks." As Taohuayan panted, Sang Sang pulled out an apple and handed it to him. Taohuayan, who had wanted to drink some water, was surprised but took the apple and started eating.

"Can you turn into a human?" The scavenger jumped out of his mech, refueled it, and turned to the werewolf. Although the question was a bit silly, thinking of Sang Shan's transformation, he asked anyway.

The scavenger's question stunned the werewolf, who finally shook his head. But just as the scavenger was about to shake his head and laugh at himself, the large werewolf transformed into a strong gray wolf, shocking everyone.

"Does the safe base have a law against keeping pets?" Kantu asked, surprised by the werewolf's transformation.

"There's no such law. I've seen many female players carrying mutated rabbits. But bringing a wolf back might be a bit too obvious. And the old butler has been asking us to find Sang Sang. The owner of the estate has a high status in the safe base. Bringing Sang Sang back might be like sending a lamb to the slaughter." Taohuayan was worried.

Although he hadn't known Sang Sang long, carrying her and seeing her thin, frightened face made him feel sorry for her and want to help.
