Eventually, when the reinforcements stopped showing up, we decided to have a meeting.
Several hours had passed, and it was starting to get dark.
Tazumi and others who could still move went to the forest to gather firewood and made a bonfire in the middle of the square.
To ward off the monsters... I guess?
"First, let's check the situation!"
Tazumi, who hadn't fully calmed down, looked around excitedly and declared.
"I don't know how we ended up here, but it seems we've come to another world and awakened to mysterious powers! I think that's obvious to everyone, right?"
"Well..."
"Yeah."
The guys who were familiar with games nodded in agreement.
I agree too. So does Mochishin.
Some of the girls seem to understand as well.
"But is such a situation really possible?"
"Since it's actually happening, there's no choice but to accept it! Stop escaping from reality and face it!"
"There's no way I can accept it! Get me back home quickly!"
A girl... the representative, screamed hysterically.
Tazumi, seeing her reaction, looked at her as if she were something boring.
Still, the girls' reactions were more normal than Tazumi's.
I can understand their feelings. I think I'm on their side.
"I don't know how to get back. First, accept the current situation. If you can't accept it, just escape into your own world or something!"
"What did you say! You're enjoying this situation—"
The girl was interrupted and restrained by her friends and some of the guys.
"So, Tazumi, how do you make those fireballs?"
The class representative and the teacher asked Tazumi together.
"It's easy."
"Like withdrawing money from a bank, you focus on the ability in your field of vision, click, set the target, and activate it, right?"
My answer hit the nail on the head, and Tazumi clapped.
No, what's with that reaction?
As expected of a delinquent, he can fight but can't read the room.
Look around.
More people are uncomfortable with you.
"Correct! It seems there's a cooldown, but the range of applications is wide."
Tazumi demonstrated by making flames appear in his fist.
He used this to punch the Horn Rat in the second half.
"You can control the strength and application through inspiration. Defeating the creatures... monsters, gives you experience points! I'm already level 2."
Hmm... So you really gain experience points by defeating them.
It's completely like a game.
"Also, there's something called points, but we can check that later."
Following his lead, the teacher and class representative activated their abilities and were amazed.
"Wow... What principle makes it work?"
"Formulas or chemical equations... What elements are involved? Is it some kind of psychic ability, where the brain interferes with something—"
"Ah... Don't worry about that. Just think of it as an ability or magic!"
Tazumi explained as if he had become the top of the class overnight, despite being a poor student.
He seemed intent on explaining everything as magic.
"Well... I guess so."
"Yeah, if I can use it, I'll try it."
The guys were adapting to the situation and checking their abilities.
The girls, though hesitant, also started to investigate.
"Alright, what's written on this stone tablet is probably your abilities. Let's see what you can do!"
Under Tazumi's guidance, we started checking our abilities in order.
Hmm... Tazumi's ability is called 'Flame User.'
There are also some straightforward ones like 'Ice User.'
Going by attendance number, it was Mochishin's turn.
"Mochishin, your ability is written as 'Blacksmith.' What can you do?"
"Huh? Um... My ability... Yeah. It says I don't have enough points."
"Ah? Points? They can be transferred... it seems. Here, take them!"
"...Okay. I'll try."
Mochishin stood in front of the bonfire, holding a piece of firewood and directing it towards the fire.
The firewood floated up, enveloped in flames, and began to take shape.
It was quite a fantastical scene.
It took a few minutes, and the firewood and flames floated in a circle.
Eventually, the flames scattered and transformed into a stick.
A club?
"From what I can tell, I think I need to hammer it with something, but this is the limit with just fire and firewood."
"A club! Oh? It affects your stats when you hold it! That's a useful ability."
Tazumi responded excitedly.
"Seems like you can make things if you have the materials."
"Looks that way."
"Then let's have you make something tomorrow!"
At that moment, a growling sound echoed.
"I'm hungry..."
"Be patient. We'll search the forest for food tomorrow. By the way, we have someone with a cooking ability, right!"
Tazumi looked at the student who had the cooking ability.
Please don't say we have to eat this rat!
"In the worst case, use your ability to cook this rat!"
It seems that's exactly what he meant.
Well, in the worst case, it might come to that.
"Ew..."
Tazumi, apparently agreeing with the reaction, also looked disgusted.
The ability to turn monsters into food is convenient, though.
"Since it probably uses points or magic, let's survive on the bento we brought tonight!"
Everyone ate their bento to stave off hunger, being a bit more frugal.
I thought Tazumi might declare that he would eat all the food, but he seemed to have some sense of propriety.
"Alright, next."
And so, the classmates took turns explaining their abilities.
It was my turn.
"Hanehashi Kosei, your ability is... Transfer. What kind of ability is it? It's not like you can go anywhere freely, right?"
"I'm still checking. Why are you interrogating me?"
I activated my ability and specified the transfer.
A cursor floated up.
"Can you transfer us back to Japan!?"
A hysterical girl leaned in and grabbed me.
"Who knows... I need to try it to find out."
I didn't fully understand my ability.
When I tried to use it, the cursor turned into an hourglass and started to fall.
I could cancel it at will.
"Take me back! Send me back to Japan!"
The hysterical girl grabbed my collar and shook me.
What a hassle...
"Calm down!"
The others tried to calm her down, and she stopped choking me.
Ugh... That was rough.
"It takes quite a while to activate."
"Go ahead and try it."
"Okay."
I designated a piece of firewood and imagined a different location.
I couldn't see a list of destinations, but I had a vague sense of where to send it.
Is it influenced by imagination?
Anyway, I instructed the firewood to move to a different location.
...The hourglass started to fall.
"Still not done?"
"It just started. It takes time, like with Mochishin."
"It doesn't seem useful in combat."
Tazumi looked at me with a mocking gaze.
Eventually, the hourglass fell, and the firewood glowed and teleported to the designated location.
"Wow, that's subtle."
Shut up!
I grumbled inwardly but kept my cool.
"Use your transfer ability to try and get back to Japan. Some people want to go back."
"Tazumi! Are you suggesting a human experiment!?"
"Ah? Otsuka wants to go back, so it's fine, right?"
Otsuka is the hysterical girl's last name.
That's not fine.
What if it fails? How will you take responsibility?
"I'd do anything to get out of this place, even for a minute!"
Eh... She's really that desperate.
Otsuka must be in a state of confusion.
All she can think about is getting back.
