Leuxion watched Leon sleep in his room at the family home.
Leon, who had been given his own room in the rebuilt mansion, was sleeping soundly on the bed.
While he had been constantly insulting Marie when he was awake, Leuxion thought that at this rate, he might forget it all by morning and play around again.
"Even though he said it was impossible for Marie to become a saint... I'm happy to have a master whose predictions are always wrong."
Leuxion, who was speaking sarcastically to no one in particular, reflected on the second semester.
"There were so many things that happened."
With many school events, Leon had been very busy.
Half of his busyness was his own fault, but it was questionable whether he realized it.
"I ended up getting promoted because I meddled in the sports festival."
By convincing Zirk's ex-fiancée, he created an opportunity for promotion.
Usually, a promotion is something to be happy about.
However, for Leon, titles and ranks were just a hindrance.
The higher the position, the more responsibility it entailed.
The fact that Leon even owned a factory was partly because he needed to contribute to the kingdom in the future. As a baron, it was unrealistic to expect him to fulfill the duties of his estate.
However, with the further promotion, the plan needed to be revised.
"Viscount and Fourth Rank, huh. You've been promoted quite a bit."
At the school festival, he flirted with Queen Mileine and, at Carla's urging, went on a mission to defeat the air pirates. That was the reason for his promotion.
Leuxion believed that Mileine's support was behind that promotion.
"I wonder what Mileine was thinking when she promoted him. Well, I haven't been told to investigate, so I don't know."
He could guess, but he didn't try to gather information because he wasn't ordered to.
"Even though he said he wouldn't get promoted just for defeating air pirates."
His real goal was to recover valuable items.
He probably thought he could get away with pushing the credit onto Brad and Gregg, but that just created more opportunities for promotion.
"Everything he does seems to go in a different direction from what he aims for..."
After defeating the air pirates, there was the school trip.
Winning against the duchy that attacked them was also a problem.
While it was unavoidable, it ended up making the kingdom underestimate the duchy.
"Everything my master does ends up backfiring."
However, being cornered by the Black Knight seemed to shock him, and he restarted his training.
"It was a good wake-up call. I was watching over him, but he was saved."
While he pushed the credit for defeating the Black Knight onto Chris, Chris's family couldn't complain because of it.
By doing something nice for the other side, it came back to him in the form of a promotion.
No one could complain about Chris's achievement because it was a condition for the reconciliation between the two families.
The Sword Saint couldn't complain either, as it would only bring more shame.
No matter how much they hated Leon, they couldn't do anything to him now.
Leuxion's interest then shifted to other matters.
"It's good that the Olivia situation ended well. Still, I'll raise her protection level by two stages."
For some reason, Leuxion couldn't feel any hostility towards Olivia.
Normally, as a Lost Item—a relic of the old humans—and considering Olivia as a new human, Leuxion should have felt hostility.
But he couldn't.
"Is this the power of Olivia that my master talks about? I wish he had talked to me about it beforehand. If I had known, I could have prepared."
Leon often kept things to himself, and Leuxion often found out information later. This led to being behind the curve with Marie.
"Well, it doesn't matter. Even if the kingdom falls, I can save my master and his associates."
If things got bad, they could just run away.
Leuxion didn't think much beyond that.
He wasn't particularly interested in the kingdom's survival.
"Still, it's strange."
Leuxion reflected on the second semester.
"The five people my master pushed away have grown mentally stronger, while Olivia and Angelica have become mentally weaker."
Especially, Libia's mental fragility became apparent this time.
The relationship between the three of them had broken down, but Leuxion was relieved when it returned to normal.
On the other hand, the five people—mainly three, but including Brad, Gregg, and Chris—had grown mentally stronger.
"Did they grow mentally stronger by escaping the environment of being heirs? Well, their taste in women is still bad, and they were even deceived by a fraudster."
Leuxion had thought Marie was like a female version of Leon.
Another reincarnated person.
And her attitude of acting for his sake.
He judged that their personalities were similar.
It was ironic that the five people Leon pushed away had grown more as individuals.
Libia and Angelica had also grown more after putting some distance between themselves and Leon.
"Was my master really in the way?"
Leuxion put that conclusion aside for now.
He started to feel sorry for Leon.
"Still, the power Olivia showed was incredible. I would have liked to analyze it more—"
The barrier she showed during the school trip was a surprising ability, even for Leuxion.
"According to my master, the power needed in the end is not the saint's power but Olivia's own power. Does Marie not know this information? Or does she think she can do something even if she knows?"
Leon often talked about how hard it was because this was a world of dating sims, but to Leuxion, this world with two outsiders seemed more challenging.
Without those two, would everything have been fine and they would have lived happily?
Leuxion reflected on and summarized the second semester.
"...He said those five were troublesome, but my master was a troublesome person himself. I guess you can't talk about others when you're like that."
Leon was as difficult, if not more so, than the five targets.
He sulked, kept his distance, and had strange personal rules.
The restrictions he placed on using Leuxion for victories were probably due to his values from his previous life.
"Well, it's better than gleefully committing mass murder, I suppose."
Leuxion thought he could like him. The flawed, human side of Leon was important to Leuxion.
Leuxion moved closer to Leon and leaned in to look at his face.
"Well, what will happen next, master?"
Leon then rolled over and hit Leuxion. Leuxion, who was thrown to the floor, slowly floated up with his eyes glowing red.
Leon was sleeping soundly with a happy expression.
Leuxion moved to Leon's stomach and dropped himself onto it.
"Ugh!"
Leon's voice was heard, but he was snoring again.
