"Please rest assured, Secretary Zhou, we will certainly cooperate fully with Comrade Yang Jie's work."

Xiao Yuan looked at the energetic young man in front of him. With a handsome face and deep, confident eyes, Yang Jie exuded a steady and reserved demeanor, making him seem very reliable. Thinking that this young man was a top student from Yanjing University, even if he were not as good as expected, he would still be easier to teach than the officials who had not received higher education.

"Hello, I am Xiao Yuan, the head of the city's trade and economy bureau translation team." Xiao Yuan said, extending his hand to Yang Jie.

"Hello, I am Yang Jie from the Wuhe County Party Committee Office for Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs. Please take care of me!" Yang Jie shook Xiao Yuan's hand and smiled warmly, formally introducing his new identity for the first time.

The foreign businessmen finally noticed the young man who had joined them. Seeing that Jimmy Bosi had turned his gaze, Xiao Yuan led Yang Jie over to Jimmy.

"Mr. Jimmy, let me introduce you to Mr. Yang Jie. He is the foreign affairs receptionist for Wuhe County. In the next few days, he will be responsible for handling your daily life and field inspections in Wuhe County. He is a great young man, and I hope you will get along well!" Xiao Yuan's fluent English impressed Yang Jie.

"Oh? Nice to meet you, Mr. Yang Jie!" Jimmy's face showed a professional smile as he extended his hand politely. However, a hint of suspicion lingered in his eyes, wondering why Wuhe County had arranged for this person to join them halfway through the inspection.

"It is a great honor to serve you, Mr. Jimmy!" Yang Jie stepped forward and shook Jimmy's hand with confidence, smiling and speaking in fluent American English.

Jimmy and the other two Italians were taken aback by Yang Jie's fluent American English. Looking at the energetic young man in front of them, Jimmy's eyes showed curiosity. "Mr. Yang Jie, have you ever studied in the United States? Your American English is excellent!"

"Mr. Jimmy, I have never been to the United States, but I have several close American friends who are my mentors and have taught me English for three years. That's why my spoken English is so good! My foreign friends call me Jack, and you can call me that too." Yang Jie was very skilled in interpersonal communication, smiling sincerely and warmly.

"Alright, Jack, you can call me Jimmy. Let me introduce you to these two. This is Lorenzo Geranci, our group's legal advisor, and this is Jameson Reka, the head of our group's marble project." Jimmy liked the young man in front of him, feeling a vibrant energy that he did not sense from the many Chinese officials around him.

Yang Jie listened to Jimmy's introduction and shook hands with Lorenzo and Jameson in a proper and graceful manner. The entire process was very pleasant, and soon Yang Jie was chatting with Jimmy and the others on his own.

Xiao Yuan was surprised to see how quickly Yang Jie had taken charge. Moreover, Yang Jie's spoken English was no less fluent than his own, and in many grammatical aspects, it was even more professional. If someone didn't know better, they might think Yang Jie was a returned overseas Chinese.

Leaders like Zhou Dalong, Zhang Daxian, Lei Shuping, and Chen Yuan witnessed Yang Jie chatting with the three seemingly stern and hard-to-get-along-with foreign businessmen in just a few words. Seeing the four of them chatting happily, they began to view Yang Jie, the temporary receptionist from Yanjing University, in a new light.

During his university years, Yang Jie had a very good relationship with several American exchange students. Being smart and studious with a good memory, his English improved rapidly under their guidance. A year ago, his spoken English was already on par with the American students.

Jimmy and the other Italians had traveled extensively and were familiar with American English, while Xiao Yuan, being academically trained, was more proficient in British English. This difference in pronunciation sometimes caused communication barriers.

Yang Jie's fluent American English made Jimmy and the others very impressed. Additionally, as a graduate of the economics department who had spent four years in Yanjing, Yang Jie could easily discuss international news and economic topics, quickly winning the favor of Jimmy and the others.

Chen Yuan watched Yang Jie chatting confidently with the foreign businessmen, showing no signs of nervousness. The two original translators had become secondary, standing aside and listening. Glancing at Zhou Dalong, she noticed that the usually stern secretary had a faint smile on his face.

It seemed that Yang Jie's excellent performance had greatly boosted Zhou Dalong's face. Meanwhile, Zhang Daxian, who had initially wanted to see a joke, was now slapped in the face by Yang Jie's excellent performance, and his previously calm expression had become slightly cold.

The Fuxin Tungsten Mine was not large, but the news of the Wuhe County Party Secretary and County Governor visiting and accompanying the foreign businessmen on an inspection quickly reached the ears of the mine's leaders.

After lunch, Fuxin Tungsten Mine Manager Li Mingsheng, who was resting at home, received a call from the mine office and hurried to the mine office building. He met with Party Secretary Fang Chaoming and Deputy Mine Manager Zeng Honghua, and together with Mine Office Director Niu Jian, they headed to the construction road.

Most people at the Fuxin Tungsten Mine did not recognize Zhou Dalong and Zhang Daxian, but Mine Manager Li Mingsheng and Party Secretary Fang Chaoming were well-known leaders. As soon as they arrived at the construction road, people began greeting them continuously.

"Secretary Zhou, County Governor Zhang, you have honored the Fuxin Tungsten Mine with your presence without prior notice. We are truly sorry for not welcoming you properly!" Li Mingsheng walked to the front of Zhou Dalong and the others, shaking hands warmly.

"We are all old friends, no need to be so formal. Do you consider us outsiders, Manager Li?" Zhou Dalong smiled and then explained, "These are Italian businessmen who have come to Wuhe County to inspect the stone project. They specifically want to see the investment environment and the equipment at the Fuxin Tungsten Mine Machinery Factory. We hope for your full support, Manager Li and Secretary Fang!"

The tungsten mine is an enterprise, and the mine manager is the top leader. Therefore, Zhou Dalong always referred to Manager Li first, which is a rule in the official world. Deputy Mine Manager Zeng Honghua and Mine Office Director Niu Jian would naturally take care of Deputy Secretary Lei Shuping and Director Chen Yuan, which is also a rule of equal reception in the official world.

When Li Mingsheng heard that the foreign businessmen were interested in the stone project and wanted to purchase equipment from the mine machinery factory, his eyes showed a sudden realization. He smiled meaningfully and joked, "I see, no wonder the county leaders have honored us with their presence. It's all about business!"

Everyone was old friends, and Zhou Dalong, Zhang Daxian, and Fang Chaoming all laughed at Li Mingsheng's harmless joke.

The Changyang region is rich in mineral resources. Just within Wuhe County, there are over a billion tons of coal reserves, various non-ferrous metal mines, and organic mineral deposits, as well as over 500 million cubic meters of high-quality marble. Therefore, a large amount of mining and ore processing equipment is needed everywhere.

The Fuxin Tungsten Mine Machinery Factory has a long history, a large number of talents, complete equipment, and strong technical capabilities, making it one of the best machinery factories in the entire Changyang region. The factory's performance is very good, and the various machines it produces are often in short supply, so the Fuxin Tungsten Mine Machinery Factory is not afraid of a lack of business.

The Wuhe County Party Secretary and County Governor came to the tungsten mine and brought foreign businessmen with them. Their purpose was not to inspect the state-owned tungsten mine but to attract investment and specifically to negotiate equipment prices at the tungsten mine machinery factory. Li Mingsheng and Fang Chaoming understood the implications, hence Li Mingsheng's joke.

Fortunately, everyone was old friends, and there was no hierarchical relationship, so Li Mingsheng's harmless joke would not cause any rifts. Instead, it made it easier for Zhou Dalong and the others to negotiate equipment prices with the mine.
