Xiaoming stood at the classroom door, took a deep breath, and firmly gripped the secret letter given to him by his mother.

As cherry blossoms danced in the wind, Misaki opened the old diary and read the words of promise written there.

Yang Jie, with the help of the small fifth absorber, was not afraid of Jimmy's astonishing alcohol tolerance. In front of the leaders like Zhou Dalong, he drank back and forth with Jimmy. In just half an hour, they finished more than ten bottles of Wuhe Liquor.

After drinking more than ten bowls of Wuhe Liquor, Jimmy felt waves of dizziness. It was rare for Jimmy to get drunk, and the sense of intoxication he felt was hard to describe in words.

Seeing Yang Jie still sober in front of him, Jimmy's movements became sluggish. He slurred, "Jie, you are the first person who can get me drunk alone. I like you! I believe that a person's character is reflected in their drinking style. We will definitely become good friends!"

"Jimmy, you are the most astonishing drinker I have ever seen. To our friendship, cheers!" Yang Jie personally opened a bottle of Wuhe Liquor, poured two bowls in front of Jimmy, and drank his own bowl in one gulp.

Jimmy indeed had a very good drinking style. Although he was already drunk, he did not start babbling. Seeing Yang Jie drink in front of him, he slowly picked up his bowl and slowly finished the liquor.

"Mr. Luo, Mr. Jimmy can't drink any more. He will be drunk if he drinks more!" Zhou Dalong, seeing that Jimmy had had enough, was satisfied with Yang Jie's performance and gave him an appreciative look before turning to Luo and saying.

"Secretary Zhou, Luo said that it is rare for Jimmy to get drunk. He drank with Yang Jie because he wanted to get drunk. He asked us not to worry about him. From now on, the project investment will be handled by him and Mr. James, and it won't affect the normal negotiations." Xiao Yuan, listening to Luo, smiled and translated for Zhou Dalong.

"Alright! It's getting late. Director Chen, please book two rooms at the guesthouse. Let Mr. Jimmy and Yang Jie rest. They don't need to go to the machinery factory. Arrange for someone to take good care of Mr. Jimmy." Zhou Dalong stood up, watching Jimmy finish his bowl and become completely drunk, and immediately instructed Chen Yuan.

"Please rest assured, Secretary. I will personally stay at the guesthouse and take good care of Mr. Jimmy!" Chen Yuan saw Jimmy's happy smile and his limp body, which was slumped in the chair. Fortunately, Yang Jie had noticed the situation and supported Jimmy, otherwise, he might have fallen under the table.

Luo and James, who could become Jimmy's left and right hands, naturally had good alcohol tolerance. Seeing Yang Jie's drinking ability, they were truly impressed that he could get the famous "King of Alcohol" Jimmy, who was well-known in the Italian business world, drunk. At this moment, Yang Jie still seemed fine, which left them in awe.

"Jie, your family's alcohol factory is truly impressive. Your drinking skills, we admire!" James looked at Yang Jie and gave him a thumbs up, showing no intention of retaliating for his boss being outdrunk.

"My alcohol tolerance is natural. I didn't know I could drink so much before. I didn't feel it while drinking, but now my head is starting to spin. I'm really sorry, James, Luo, I can't accompany you to the machinery factory. I hope you have a pleasant afternoon." Yang Jie pretended to be drunk, staggered forward, and shook hands with James and Luo.

"Don't worry!" James smiled, and together with Luo, they left the guesthouse's private room with Zhou Dalong and the other leaders of Wuhe County, accompanied by Xiao Yuan.

After seeing Zhou Dalong and the others out, Chen Yuan returned to the private room with three government staff members to help Jimmy and Yang Jie to the guesthouse for a rest.

Liu Daxing and Wang Yuehua, who had not known about Yang Jie's drinking competition with Jimmy, only heard the news when Zhou Dalong and the others left. They followed Chen Yuan and the others into the private room.

Liu Daxing first checked on Yang Jie, seeing that he was fine, and then helped the two government staff members support the heavily drunk Jimmy, who was slumped in the chair, and walked him out of the private room.

Chen Yuan looked at Yang Jie, seeing that he was not very drunk, and instructed another staff member to follow Liu Daxing and the others to escort Jimmy to the guest room. After all, Jimmy, who was over 1.8 meters tall, was not light.

Wang Yuehua, entering the private room, ignored Liu Daxing and the others, and walked up to Yang Jie with concern. "Xiaojie, are you trying to kill yourself? You know your alcohol tolerance, how could you drink so much?"

"Aunt, it's fine! I'm okay, just a bit dizzy. I'll be fine after resting for the afternoon." Yang Jie, seeing Wang Yuehua's concern, quickly walked a few steps and reassured her.

"Manager Wang, I have seen Yang Jie's alcohol tolerance today. He is a true alcohol god. Don't worry! He speaks clearly and walks steadily, showing no signs of drunkenness. There's no need to worry!" Chen Yuan, standing at the private room door, watched Liu Daxing and the others leave the guesthouse restaurant and head to the VIP building. She then returned to the private room and saw Yang Jie walking steadily, knowing that he had been pretending to be drunk. She was deeply impressed by his alcohol tolerance.

"You kid, you never let us rest easy!" Wang Yuehua, seeing that Yang Jie was indeed fine, turned her attention to Jimmy. "Is this the foreign businessman who can drink? Goodness, they drank eighteen bottles of Wuhe Liquor. His alcohol tolerance is truly astonishing!"

Chen Yuan smiled bitterly, glancing at Yang Jie nearby, thinking to herself that Jimmy, who had drunk nearly ten pounds of liquor and passed out, indeed had astonishing alcohol tolerance, but compared to Yang Jie, who drank the same amount but remained unaffected, who was the real prodigy?

"Yang Jie, your performance today was excellent! Secretary Zhou and Secretary Lei are very satisfied with you. When you were drinking with Jimmy, they were discussing giving you an award when they return to the county." Chen Yuan smiled at Yang Jie, knowing his special relationship with Secretary Zhou. She stayed behind to have a word with him.

Yang Jie smiled slightly. Although Zhou Dalong and Zhang Daxian had spoken in low voices, he had still heard them. Therefore, he was not surprised by Chen Yuan's words.

"Director Chen, I just fulfilled the task assigned by my superiors. I am not worthy of an award. In the future, I will be under your command. I will remain humble and work diligently, obeying the requirements of the director and the organization, and strive to complete the tasks assigned to me, not letting you down and not disgracing the county party office." Yang Jie looked at Chen Yuan with a sincere and calm expression, speaking clearly.

Chen Yuan was not only the director of the county party office but also a member of the county party committee, one of the twelve major figures in Wuhe County, and Yang Jie's direct superior. Although he had the support of Secretary Zhou, Yang Jie knew that to advance further in the system, he needed not only to be capable but also to respect his superiors.

"Very good! You have a character that remains humble in victory and undaunted in defeat! Secretary Zhou's judgment is indeed unique. The people he values are all talents!" Chen Yuan was very satisfied that Yang Jie placed the organization before her. She maintained a calm expression but her eyes showed appreciation. "Xiaoyang, the Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office is a new department established by the county party office. Currently, there are only two clerks responsible for work related to Chinese and overseas Chinese. With you, there will be three. Although the work is currently relatively light, with the increasing efforts in attracting foreign investment to Wuhe County, the work of the Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office will become very busy. Therefore, we need someone who can both follow orders and is capable to lead this department. So, you must work hard, understand?"

"Please rest assured, Director! I will work hard and not let you down!" Yang Jie gratefully and firmly promised.

Seeing Yang Jie's intelligence and his ability to understand her intentions, Chen Yuan's appreciation for him increased. She nodded in satisfaction and said, "You drank quite a bit just now. The room has been booked for you. We need to return to the county this afternoon, so go rest."

"Alright! I won't let the work be delayed this afternoon." Yang Jie smiled. He was not actually drunk, so resting or not made no difference, but Chen Yuan's intention was good. He and Wang Yuehua, who had a smile on her face, saw Chen Yuan to the VIP building and then parted ways.
