As the cherry blossoms danced in the wind, Misaki opened the old diary and read the words of promise written there.

While Jameson was not bothered, he did not want to be framed for nothing. So, before leaving the Public Security Bureau, he directly asked Yang Jie for help. Yang Jie had anticipated that Jameson would be suspicious. After all, Jameson, who had traveled far and wide, had seen many conspiracies and tricks. Not caring about being caught was one thing, but it did not mean he did not care who was behind the mischief. Although this incident might not have been directly aimed at him, it had a certain impact on the upcoming project negotiations with Wuhexian County.

"Jameson, once the project is settled, Wuhexian County will certainly give you a satisfactory response. As for whether there is a conspiracy, that cannot be determined one-sidedly and will require an investigation. Our most important task right now is to minimize the impact of this incident. The relevant responsible parties will certainly be punished. However, you also bear some responsibility in this matter, and I hope you can take it seriously. China is a country governed by law, and Wuhexian County is a place that follows the rule of law. Regardless of the cause of this incident, there will be no favoritism because you are a foreign investor. I believe you would not want to invest in a place that does not abide by the law, lacks rules and principles, and cannot guarantee your investment interests, right?"

"Jie, you are right. Obeying the law is a duty that everyone should fulfill. Handling matters according to legal procedures is a must in a country governed by law. Everyone is equal before the law. I am willing to accept the punishment, and the negotiations with Wuhexian County will proceed normally. I believe this incident will not affect the upcoming negotiations." Jameson nodded heavily after hearing Yang Jie's words, agreeing with him.

In business, one is not afraid of many rules but of no rules. Businesspeople naturally have their own set of industry norms. Without the constraints of rules, it would be a very dangerous situation. Jameson was raised to follow the law, so he did not resist what Yang Jie said.

"According to the Public Security Administration Punishment Regulations of China, your behavior warrants 15 days of administrative detention and a 500 yuan fine. However, out of humanitarian considerations, the county has decided to reduce the punishment. You will not be detained, but you need to pay the fine to leave here."

"Jie, before paying the fine, I have a request." Jameson looked at Yang Jie, a bit embarrassed.

"Please speak!" Yang Jie raised an eyebrow, looking at Jameson sitting in the chair.

"When the police caught me, they took many inappropriate photos. I hope that after paying the fine, the police will destroy those photos." Jameson's cheeks turned red, and he looked at Yang Jie, a bit embarrassed.

Upon hearing this, Yang Jie immediately smiled and said, "Rest assured, I will definitely help you with this."

After privately agreeing with Jameson, the next steps were easier. Yang Jie took out the 500 yuan given to him by Chen Yuan and handed it to Jameson, asking him to pay the fine himself.

The two walked out of the interrogation room and saw Chen Yinglong still waiting at the door. "Captain Chen, Mr. Jameson is willing to accept the punishment from the Public Security Bureau. Please take him to process the punishment procedures."

Chen Yinglong did not expect that Yang Jie and Jameson would quickly convince Jameson. Seeing Jameson with no expression on his face, he hurriedly made a gesture for Jameson to follow him to his office to process the fine.

Originally, according to the county party committee's intention, Jameson only needed to pay a 100 yuan fine as a symbolic punishment. However, Jameson insisted on paying the full fine. Chen Yinglong sought help from Yang Jie, but Yang Jie indicated that Chen Yinglong should follow the rules.

Jameson paid the 500 yuan fine in full. Afterward, Chen Yinglong gave Jameson a receipt and, in front of Yang Jie and Jameson, destroyed all the negatives of the inappropriate photos taken by Wang Biao and others.

Seeing Yang Jie and Jameson come down the stairs, Luo Song and Yang Hua immediately came forward. Yang Jie frowned at Luo Song, "Director Luo, Mr. Jameson has been in the interrogation room all night and is very tired. He needs to rest at the hotel; otherwise, it will affect the project negotiations tomorrow. I won't say more. Let's go!"

Yang Jie opened the back door of the Santana and let Jameson get in. Just as he was about to get in himself, Yang Hua came up to him, "Comrade Yang, I caused you trouble today. It was due to my poor management that the county's investment promotion work was affected. Please forgive us."

Luo Song stood to the side, sneering at Yang Hua's words, a mocking expression on his face. Seeing Luo Song's reaction, a sharp look flashed in Yang Jie's eyes. Luo Song's strong defense of Wang Biao suggested that he might have been the one who ordered Wang Biao to do this. Therefore, Yang Jie had no good feelings toward Luo Song.

Looking at Yang Hua in front of him, Yang Jie smiled and said, "Director Yang, we both share the same surname. There's no need for formalities between us. We are family, so let's not speak in formal terms. I hope you can keep this matter confidential and control its impact. I will take Mr. Jameson back to rest. We can meet up another time."

Yang Jie gave Yang Hua enough face, causing Luo Song's expression to suddenly change. He coldly snorted and turned away, not taking Yang Jie, a new and ordinary county party office staff member, seriously.

"Alright! Brother Yang, have a safe trip. I'll treat you to a drink another day," Yang Hua, seeing Yang Jie give him so much face, reciprocated by calling him brother, showing no intention of lowering himself.

"Brother, I look forward to that drink. It's a deal!" Yang Jie smiled and agreed, then bid farewell to Yang Hua and Chen Yinglong, got into the Santana, and quickly drove out of the Public Security Bureau, heading toward the Wuhexian Hotel.

Yang Jie personally took Jameson to his room at the Wuhexian Hotel and then returned to the county government compound.

Zhou Dalong and Lei Shuping were still waiting for news in the office. Yang Jie, familiar with the way, went to Zhou Dalong's office, knocked on the door, and reported the situation to Zhou Dalong, who was still discussing county affairs with others.

After Yang Jie reported the details of his conversation with Jameson to Zhou Dalong and the others, Zhou Dalong, Lei Shuping, and Chen Yuan all breathed a sigh of relief.

When they heard that Jameson did not want to leave the Public Security Bureau and insisted that Jimmy come to pick him up, Zhou Dalong and the others were very worried. If the matter escalated, it would be difficult to resolve. Fortunately, Yang Jie handled it well, not only with the aphrodisiac wine that Jameson coveted but also with his good private relationship with Jimmy. This allowed him to calm Jameson down and handle the matter discreetly according to the county's wishes.

Upon learning that Jameson would not create any obstacles for the upcoming negotiations due to this incident, Zhou Dalong and Lei Shuping both smiled in satisfaction. Zhou Dalong was extremely pleased with Yang Jie.

"Xiaojie, you need to return to Wuhexian Township tonight. Try to tell Jimmy about Jameson's situation tomorrow morning. This will give us the initiative. Given your relationship with Jimmy and the fact that this incident has a cause, I believe Mr. Jimmy will understand. Don't delay; go back as soon as possible," Zhou Dalong instructed after hearing Yang Jie's report.

"Understood! Yang Jie guarantees to complete the task assigned by the secretary," Yang Jie stood up and solemnly promised.

Yang Jie returned to Wuhexian Township in Chen Yuan's car. By the time he arrived, it was already dawn. After a busy night, he had finally resolved Jameson's issue. If it weren't for the aphrodisiac wine that Jameson coveted and the good private relationship with Jimmy, Wuhexian County might have had a hard time handling this matter.

Fortunately, the matter was finally settled. Yang Jie quietly returned home, lay on the bed, and thought about the situation in the county. He soon fell asleep.
