The Yuhexian Provincial Office is located at No. 17 Chunjiang Road in Nangu District, Rongcheng City.

The Yuhexian Government funded the construction of the Yuhexian Hotel, which consists of a main building and an annex. The main building has seven floors, comprising the hotel and a restaurant. The annex has five floors and was previously used as the office, meeting room, and staff dormitory for the Yuhexian Provincial Liaison Office.

After getting off the bus at Chunjiang Road, Yang Jie and Liu Fei found their way to the Yuhexian Hotel.

After asking the front desk attendant in the main building, they entered the courtyard through the main building's side entrance. As they just entered the annex lobby, Zhou Dequan happened to be coming down the stairs.

Seeing Yang Jie and Liu Fei, they hurriedly greeted him. Zhou Dequan, seeing the two with their luggage, smiled and said, "Little Yang, I didn't expect you to report so quickly. Isn't there still two days left?"

"Director, we just wanted to come early to familiarize ourselves with the environment and get to work as soon as possible, to achieve better results in our county's investment promotion work!" Yang Jie knew that Zhou Dequan was a cadre aligned with the Secretary, and since they were both from the County Party Committee Office, they were considered part of the same team, so he didn't act too formally with Zhou Dequan.

"You, Little Yang, are always so eloquent! Don't worry about work for now. You must be tired from the long journey. I'll take you to the restaurant for some food first, and then Manager Zheng will arrange your dormitories."

Zhou Dequan told Yang Jie and Liu Fei to leave their luggage in the security room at the entrance of the lobby before leading them to the main building.

The Rongcheng Yuhexian Hotel is under the jurisdiction of the Provincial Office and has no direct affiliation with the Yuhexian Hotel in Yuhexian County. Apart from the manager, who is a Yuhexian County staff member, the other hotel staff are hired externally and have no direct relationship with the Provincial Office.

"Manager Zheng, the Provincial Office has two new colleagues. This is Yang Jie from the External Liaison Group, and this is Liu Fei, also from the External Liaison Group. They have been seconded from the County Party Committee Office to the Provincial Office to handle investment promotion work." Zhou Dequan brought Yang Jie and Liu Fei to the hotel lobby and introduced them to the hotel manager, Zheng Xiaohang.

"Quickly have the kitchen prepare a few dishes to welcome them. Afterward, arrange their dormitories. I need to rush to meet an old classmate. I'll leave them in your hands." After giving instructions to Zheng Xiaohang, Zhou Dequan looked at Yang Jie and said, "I have an appointment with an old classmate who works at the Provincial Party School. He's only available on weekends, so I need to go now. If you need anything, just find Manager Zheng. He is the hotel manager and the caretaker of the Provincial Office."

"Director, thank you for taking the time to bring us here despite your busy schedule. Please go ahead and take care of your business!" Yang Jie smiled and thanked Zhou Dequan, who nodded and quickly left the restaurant.

"Comrade Yang, Comrade Liu, welcome! I am the hotel manager, Zheng Xiaohang. You can just call me Old Zheng. If you have any living issues, feel free to come to me!" Zheng Xiaohang led Yang Jie and Liu Fei to a small private room in the restaurant, picked up the menu, and handed it to them.

"Provincial Office colleagues usually eat at the hotel. According to the rules, each meal costs 10 yuan for lunch and dinner, and 5 yuan for breakfast. Since it's your first day, this meal is on me. Order whatever you like, don't be shy."

"Old Zheng, you can just call me Little Yang. We've already eaten on the train, so just a light meal will do. We don't want to waste food." Yang Jie smiled, glanced at the menu, and casually ordered Eight Treasure Chicken and Jade Cucumber.

Liu Fei, who had a background in dance and always maintained her figure, usually ate very little. Seeing Yang Jie order, she casually added a Seaweed and Pork Rib Soup. After seeing that Yang Jie and Liu Fei were done ordering, Zheng Xiaohang nodded and said, "Alright! I'll inform the kitchen right away. Please wait a moment while I arrange your dormitories."

"The environment of the Provincial Office is quite good, and Old Zheng seems nice. After the dormitories are arranged, let's go buy some daily necessities?" Yang Jie, seeing the elegant and tasteful decoration of the hotel restaurant and the nice annex building, was very satisfied with the facilities.

"Sure! Let's talk about it after the meal. I'm not sure if there are any stores nearby. You can ask Old Zheng later." Liu Fei was also very satisfied with the environment of the Provincial Office, which was much better than she had imagined. After all, this was the Provincial Office, where county leaders stayed when they came to the province, so the environment couldn't be bad.

The chef's skills were excellent. The dishes were not only visually and aromatically appealing but also delicious, and the soup was well-prepared. After finishing their meal, Zheng Xiaohang appeared in the private room on time. "How was the food? The dormitories are ready. I'll take you to see them. If you're not satisfied, I can change them for you."

"The chef's skills are great, and the food is delicious. Thank you, Old Zheng!" Yang Jie smiled and got up, not being too formal, and followed Zheng Xiaohang with Liu Fei through the back door of the main building to the courtyard, then into the annex. Yang Jie retrieved their luggage from the security room.

"The annex mainly serves as the office and dormitory for the Provincial Office. The large and small meeting rooms, reception area, guest room, and security room are on the first floor. The second floor houses the offices of the Director, Deputy Director, and the various groups of the Provincial Office. The third and fourth floors are dormitories.

The fifth floor used to be the dormitory for the hotel staff. After the liaison office was converted into the Provincial Office, the hotel staff no longer lived there. It has been converted into a recreation room with fitness equipment, billiards, table tennis, and chess tables. You can relax there during your free time." Zheng Xiaohang led Yang Jie and Liu Fei up to the fourth floor, introducing them along the way.

"You arrived late, and the third-floor dormitories are already full, so we can only arrange for you to stay on the fourth floor." The three arrived at the fourth floor, and Zheng Xiaohang walked to the two dormitory doors on the right side of the staircase, handing two sets of keys to Yang Jie. "The annex faces north, and this side is the east. The afternoon sun doesn't reach here, so it's cooler in summer. You can choose which dormitory you like."

Yang Jie took the keys and opened the doors to the two dormitories. The dormitories were decorated similarly to the hotel, spacious, with each room about 30 square meters and a private bathroom.

The rooms were carpeted, and the standard hotel furnishings were complete, including wardrobes, TV stands, bedside tables, desks, small round tables, and two low wooden armchairs.

There was a 25-inch color TV on the TV stand, a ceiling fan, a telephone on the bedside table, and a large bed with white hotel bedding. The bathroom, about 8 square meters, had a bathtub and a toilet.

The facilities were almost as good as the main building's double-bed rooms, lacking only air conditioning. The Chunjiang River was not far from the annex, and from the dormitory window, one could enjoy the view of the river. The entrance to the dormitory was a large corridor with aluminum and glass windows, and through the openable windows, one could see the entire parking lot.

The two dormitories were almost identical except for the placement of the beds and the direction of the bathrooms.

Yang Jie let Liu Fei choose first. After she chose the inner room, Yang Jie handed her the key. "Old Zheng, will only Liu Fei and I be staying on the fourth floor?"

"Isn't the county bureau going to assign a colleague to the Provincial Office for security work? When he arrives, he will also stay on the fourth floor. This isn't a school, so there's no gender distinction in the dormitory floors. Besides, you're both unmarried, so what's there to worry about!" Seeing Yang Jie's question, Zheng Xiaohang knew what he was concerned about and jokingly reassured him.

"Alright! I have nothing to hide, so I'm not afraid of what people might say. Do you know if there are any stores nearby? We want to buy some daily necessities." Yang Jie, seeing Zheng Xiaohang's response, didn't take it too seriously. In Yuhexian County, he had lived in the same dormitory with two girls, so living on the same floor with a female colleague was nothing to worry about.

"Turn right out of the hotel, and there's a large supermarket less than 100 meters away. You can buy what you need there. The prices are reasonable, and they have everything." Zheng Xiaohang followed Yang Jie into his dormitory, closed the door, and pointed to a schedule posted behind the door. "This schedule shows the meal times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Just go to the restaurant at the designated times.

Your office is on the second floor. The doors have signs for each group. After you report on Monday, the Director will give you the office keys. The dormitory phone can only make internal calls and receive calls, not external calls. If you need to call Yuhexian, you'll have to use the office phone. If there's nothing else, I'll go back to the main building. If you have any problems, feel free to come find me."

"Thank you, Old Zheng." After seeing Zheng Xiaohang out, Yang Jie took his luggage to the wardrobe opposite the bathroom and hung some clothes on the hangers.

He looked at the meal schedule behind the door. Breakfast was from 7:30 to 8:00, lunch from 12:00 to 1:30, and dinner from 6:00 to 7:00. Below the schedule were some phone numbers, including the hotel switchboard, office, and dormitory numbers, all clearly listed.
