With the special approval of the Dean, Molin became a student at Zhaifeng Academy at the end of a school year. After leaving the Dean's office, Molin couldn't wait to come to the first floor of Zhaifeng Building.
Classes last for forty-five minutes, followed by a ten-minute break. Zhaifeng Academy maintains this teaching rhythm, which is said to come from the four major academies, very well. When Molin entered a classroom, it was during their break time.
Another unfamiliar face, the students couldn't help but take a second look.
Although such occurrences are not uncommon at Zhaifeng Academy, there is still a difference between freshmen and upperclassmen. It's normal for some freshmen to curiously listen in on upperclassmen's classes, but it doesn't make sense for upperclassmen to attend freshmen classes for the sake of learning. Therefore, when an unfamiliar face appears in a freshmen classroom, apart from those like Lu Ping, who rarely attend classes and thus are unfamiliar to everyone, there is usually only one reason: upperclassmen boys who come to get close to a freshmen girl.
Although Molin's appearance with a straw hat looked a bit strange, the little girls' awkward yet slightly hopeful emotions quickly spread throughout the classroom.
However, after scanning the classroom, Molin's gaze soon showed disappointment. He was about to leave, but the bell for class rang just then, and the instructor entered the classroom on time. As an assassin, Molin habitually didn't want to draw too much attention, so he sat down in the empty seat next to him.
At the end of the school year, the instructor had nothing new to teach in class, mostly reviewing and reinforcing what had been taught throughout the year.
"So, does anyone have any questions about yesterday's content?" The instructor ignored the new face in the classroom and continued his teaching pace.
Some students raised their hands and asked the instructor their questions, and after receiving answers one by one, everyone noticed that the new face with the straw hat was also raising his hand to ask a question.
"Student," the teacher called on Molin.
"I want to ask," Molin stood up and said, "Why isn't Lu Ping here for class?"
Lu Ping?
"He never comes to class," someone blurted out the truth.
"Ah?" Molin was stunned. This guy has this problem too? Uncle Mosen didn't mention this to me!
"Who are you?" The instructor was also puzzled. How could a Zhaifeng Academy student not know that Lu Ping doesn't attend classes?
"Oh... I just joined the academy today. My name is Lin Mo." Molin introduced himself to everyone, using a fake name. He didn't forget his identity as an assassin; how could he casually expose his real information?
Just joined the academy?
Everyone was stunned. It was almost the end of the school year; why would a student be admitted at this time? Unless it was an exceptional admission, what special qualities did this person with the straw hat have?
The freshmen couldn't tell, and this instructor's ability was not precise enough to judge the realm of the soul force. However, through basic perception, he at least sensed that Molin's soul force was not simple, far beyond what a freshmen should have.
"If you're looking for Lu Ping, you might be in the wrong place," the instructor said.
"Can I leave then?" Molin asked.
"Feel free," the instructor knew that the freshmen class had no meaning for this student.
Molin quickly left. After leaving Zhaifeng Building, he slapped his head and cursed himself for being an idiot.
Listening to classes at Zhaifeng Academy, even the Dean thought it was unnecessary. For someone much stronger than him like Lu Ping to attend classes, how boring would that be?
That guy doesn't need to attend classes, so what does he do every day? How does he practice perception and penetration?
Molin was eager to know, but after searching the entire academy, he still couldn't find Lu Ping. This made Molin a bit hurt. In such a small academy, finding one person was so difficult? He even resorted to asking people, which is a low-level tactic. As an assassin, how could he ask people on the street where his target was? Was he afraid of not drawing attention?
In the morning, Molin found nothing, and at noon, he hurried to the cafeteria to stake out, finally spotting Lu Ping.
"Hey!" Molin felt he and Lu Ping were already acquainted, so he grabbed a large pancake and approached. Seeing that Lu Ping and Su Tang were in line for food, he quickly found an opening.
"Want a pancake?" Molin waved the half pancake in his hand.
Lu Ping didn't take it but looked at it carefully.
"Don't worry, it's not poisoned this time," Molin said.
Immediately, all eyes turned to him. In a place where people eat, the word "poison" is too taboo.
"Just a joke, just a joke," Molin quickly explained, to prove his innocence, he broke off half and ate it in front of everyone, then handed the other half to Lu Ping.
"Why are you still here?" Lu Ping took the small half of the pancake and asked.
"I'm a student at Zhaifeng Academy now," Molin said.
Before Lu Ping could say anything, the black-clothed, gold-and-silver emblem Wind Discipline Team, who often hovered around him, appeared at the right moment. Everyone put down what they were doing and looked over.
Xifan's expression was serious, but he didn't even glance at Lu Ping; he was coming for Molin.
"Are you the new student?" Xifan asked.
"Yes, my name is Lin Mo," Molin reported his fake name again.
"I heard you've been looking for Lu Ping all morning. Is there a problem?" Xifan asked. The incident at the viewing pavilion yesterday didn't yield any clues pointing to Lu Ping, but Xifan wouldn't give up so easily. This morning, he heard that a new student had been asking about Lu Ping from the freshmen classroom.
Who would go looking for a waste of space like that?
Xifan's preconceived bias immediately led him to believe that Lu Ping must have caused some trouble, and someone was determined to pursue it. He wouldn't miss such an opportunity. So, while Molin was looking for Lu Ping, Xifan was looking for Molin. They finally met here.
"Ah?" Molin was stunned, looking bewildered, "Why does it matter to you that I'm looking for him? Who are you?"
"Xifan, Wind Discipline Team," Xifan introduced himself briefly, not liking to flaunt his position as the team leader.
"So?"
"Any problems can be reported to us," Xifan said.
"The problem is, what do you want from me?" Molin said.
Xifan was speechless. This new student really didn't understand anything. If it were another student, they would immediately realize he could help. This guy needed some effort to explain. Just as Xifan was about to speak, Lu Ping cut in: "You two can chat slowly." Then he started to leave.
"Stop!"
"Don't go!"
Xifan and Molin spoke in unison, with different words but the same meaning. Xifan thought this was a sign of mutual understanding, but Molin ignored him and hurried after Lu Ping. His expression didn't look like he was looking for trouble; it looked more like he was trying to... get close?
Was he actually showing goodwill to Lu Ping?
Xifan was instantly amazed by Molin. In three years at Zhaifeng Academy, such a person had never appeared. The only one was Su Tang, who had a long-standing relationship with Lu Ping.
"Where did this new student come from?" Xifan felt his brain was not enough.
"Unclear!" The two Wind Discipline Team members who often followed him were also bewildered. They couldn't understand why someone would show goodwill to Lu Ping.
"Find out more about him," Xifan ordered, and he himself began to pay special attention to Molin.
After targeting Lu Ping for three years without finding any leverage, Xifan was determined but not optimistic. After the viewing pavilion incident, he didn't know if he would have another chance to investigate.
So, Molin appeared.
Hearing the news, Xifan quickly came to seize the opportunity, but the reality was quite different from what he expected. Molin wasn't a reason they could use to their advantage.
But Molin was still very strange.
Joining Zhaifeng Academy at the end of the school year.
Upon joining, immediately looking for Lu Ping. From his appearance, he and Lu Ping were not familiar at all. Why was he so deliberately approaching him?
This might be a breakthrough. From here, they might catch something about Lu Ping.
That afternoon, Xifan received some information about Molin.
The situation was simple: his specific background was unknown, but his realm was very high, reaching the sixth level of the Pivot Soul. He came to Zhaifeng Academy, supposedly to study more with Teacher Mosen. But in reality, he had been asking about Lu Ping and had never mentioned "Mosun" in his mouth.
"That's just a cover," Xifan immediately concluded after hearing the report, "Clearly, this guy is targeting Lu Ping. What's the academy's stance?"
Such a simple conclusion, Xifan believed the academy wouldn't fail to make.
"The academy's stance is to have the Wind Discipline Team pay more attention to this Molin, but because his realm is high, it's not recommended to send anyone below the sixth level to interact with him," the team member reported.
"That means it's up to me!" Among the Wind Discipline Team, only Xifan had the sixth-level soul force. In this obscure Zhaifeng Academy, students reaching the sixth level in four years were extremely rare.
"Continue to investigate his background, and don't relax on Lu Ping's side. Report the location of the surveillance personnel, then withdraw. The direct surveillance will be handled by me."
"Yes!" All the team members acknowledged.
Only four days left!
Xifan looked at the calendar on the wall of the Wind Discipline Team office.
There were less than four days until the final exam of the school year. Every student was tense about this.
But for Xifan, the most important thing in these less than four days was to expel Lu Ping from Zhaifeng Academy.
He couldn't let the Wind Discipline Team and that guy be tied to the pillar of incompetence and shame!
This was Xifan's determination, perhaps not many people cared, but he did.
Honor, above all.
