Chapter 25

"Please welcome the first singer, Gu Hao! Everyone, give him a warm welcome!"

Soon, a man in his thirties walked onto the stage.

"Huh, I didn't expect it to be him!" Liu Jie suddenly said with some surprise.

"Do you know this Gu Hao, Brother Liu?" Tang Feng asked curiously.

"Yeah! I didn't expect him to appear here!" Liu Jie sighed.

"Is something wrong?" Tang Feng asked.

"Nothing, actually, his story is somewhat similar to yours," Liu Jie suddenly smiled.

"Similar to me? How so?" Now it was Tang Feng's turn to be surprised.

At this moment, Gu Hao began to sing his first song. The song was called "In the Storm," a rock star's song from this world. It was the first time Tang Feng had heard it.

"Shouldn't Feng Shao be familiar with Yan Jianghua?" Liu Jie said.

"Yan Jianghua? What? Was this Gu Hao also blacklisted by Yan Jianghua?" Tang Feng was really surprised now.

"Yes, and no! Do you know Chen Meimei?" Liu Jie asked.

"Chen Meimei?" Tang Feng shook his head. He only knew that in his previous life there were two Gu Meimeis, but this was the first time he had heard of Chen Meimei.

"Chen Meimei is somewhat well-known in the music industry. Gu Hao was Chen Meimei's ex-boyfriend. They both participated in a singer competition hosted by Starlight Music, but neither of them made it to the top three. However, Chen Meimei was still signed by Starlight Music, while Gu Hao was not. Later, an incident made everyone know about Gu Hao," Liu Jie explained.

"What happened? Is it related to Yan Jianghua?" Tang Feng asked.

"Exactly! In fact, the reason Chen Meimei was signed by Starlight was because Yan Jianghua was interested in her. At first, Gu Hao was in the dark. Later, the media reported that Chen Meimei was being kept by a high-ranking official at Starlight. Not long after this news broke, it was revealed that Chen Meimei and Yan Jianghua were caught in bed by her boyfriend at a hotel."

"Then what? Was he blacklisted by Yan Jianghua?" Tang Feng asked curiously.

"Ha ha, you could say that. Originally, this matter was not known to the media. Yan Jianghua and Chen Meimei naturally did not want it to be known. At the time, Yan Jianghua promised that if Gu Hao did not make the incident public, he would sign him to Starlight and promote him. However, Gu Hao refused, but did not make it public. However, a hotel staff member saw the incident and secretly took photos with a phone, selling them to the media."

"Yan Jianghua thought Gu Hao had leaked the story to the media. Since Yan Jianghua was the vice president of Starlight Music, after this incident, not only did Yan Jianghua and Chen Meimei's reputations suffer, but Yan Jianghua was also removed from his position, and Chen Meimei was put on ice. This incident also greatly damaged Starlight Music's reputation, so they blacklisted Gu Hao. Gu Hao's conditions were not outstanding, and with Starlight's blacklist, no company was willing to offend Starlight for his sake. So, although Gu Hao has been working hard these past few years, no company has been willing to sign him. I didn't expect him to appear here," Liu Jie said with some sympathy.

At this moment, Gu Hao finished his first song, and the audience's reaction was quite good. However, Tang Feng felt some sympathy for him because, although Gu Hao sang well, it was not enough to make a company risk offending Starlight to sign him.

In fact, Starlight's blacklist was just that. If someone had truly outstanding potential, they might risk it. However, Gu Hao was not young, and his abilities were not particularly outstanding, so he was destined to fail.

Soon, Gu Hao began his second song, an original one. However, original songs were not easy, and most of the judges only gave him 7 points. Clearly, he would not make it to the top three.

The second contestant was also a solo singer. After two songs, the judges gave him slightly higher scores, around 8 points.

The third contestant was a male-female duo. When they performed their original song, it was clearly of higher quality than the previous two. Their final score was much higher, with an average of 9 points. Clearly, this duo was pushed by a music company.

After the fourth and fifth contestants, no one scored higher than the male-female duo. Soon, the sixth contestant was the BD duo.

The lead singer was the same Ye Tianlong Tang Feng had encountered at the bar entrance.

Although Tang Feng did not have a high opinion of this guy's character and quality, he had to admit that BD had real talent. Tang Feng's own singing skills were not as good as his.

Soon, BD performed a high-quality original song, creating a climax for the Rock Night.

Sure enough, the judges gave them perfect scores without any suspense.

"Feng Shao, didn't you say you came to support your friend? Hasn't he come out yet?" Liu Jie asked with some surprise.

"Um, not yet!" Tang Feng did not know which number the Iron Wolf band was scheduled to perform, but in his eyes, this competition, which he was used to from his previous life's talent shows, was not of high quality. However, it was just a regional competition, so he could not expect too much.

The next few contestants all received high scores, but none exceeded BD's. It was clear that, barring any surprises, BD would take the first place.

Finally, the last group of contestants came out, the Iron Wolf band.

"Is this your friend?" Liu Jie asked, turning his head when he saw Chu Ge and the others come out last.

"Yep!" Tang Feng nodded.

"Hello everyone, we are the Iron Wolf band. We will perform 'Fireworks.' We hope you enjoy it!" Chu Ge said, and the three band members bowed to the audience.

"Your friend sings well!" Liu Jie smiled.

"Indeed!" Tang Feng nodded. In fact, the Iron Wolf band was quite capable. If there were no other factors, they could at least make it to the top three based on their talent. However, sometimes talent alone was not enough.

Soon, the song ended, and the audience applauded. Although it did not reach BD's level, it was still quite good.

In fact, although the first place was predetermined, Tian Sheng Music did not overstep. BD's talent was evident. Among the ten contestants tonight, BD was the best in terms of both talent and the quality of their original music.

"The next song is 'Boundless Sky' for everyone!"

When Tang Feng heard the song name announced by the Iron Wolf band's leader, Chu Ge, he smiled.

"Here it is, the song written by Feng Shao! It will definitely outshine BD!" Chen Shao suddenly said excitedly.

They had all heard the song when the Iron Wolf band practiced, so he said this.
