Chapter 8

"Who would have thought I'm so in demand!" Tang Feng couldn't help but feel a bit narcissistic.

However, he soon found out why these people were looking for him. Opening his live streaming chat room, he saw the number of viewers, which was so high it left him momentarily dazed. He had just covered two songs and done a bit of stand-up comedy; was it really that big of a deal?

At that moment, the number of people in the chat room had actually exceeded thirty thousand! Keep in mind, this wasn't even during his live streaming time, and his chat room had a limit of only one thousand people! It was thirty times over capacity! Even popular streamers rarely reached this number during their live streams, and this was just a recording.

"Uh!" Tang Feng saw a bunch of private messages in his inbox. He scanned through them, and most were from music companies and online video platforms.

After some thought, Tang Feng decided to contact Starlight Stage first. After all, they were his current platform, even though he hadn't signed a contract, he was still using their chat room.

He quickly picked up his phone and dialed the number left by the Starlight Stage talent department.

"This is the Starlight Stage talent department. May I ask what you need?" A soft female voice came through.

"I'm Tang Feng, my nickname on Starlight Stage is Feng Shao. My friend told me you were looking for me?" Tang Feng said.

"Ah? You're Feng Shao? Hold on, our supervisor wants to speak with you." The soft female voice was initially stunned, then exclaimed.

Soon, a steady voice came through the receiver.

"Are you Feng Shao? I'm Yan Jianghua, the head of the talent department!"

"Hello, Mr. Yan!" Tang Feng felt a bit flattered that the head of the talent department was personally talking to him.

"I watched last night's live stream video, it was fantastic. For a streamer with such talent to not be a signed streamer is a failure on our part!" Yan Jianghua's voice was very persuasive, making one feel convinced without even realizing it.

"You're too kind!" Tang Feng felt a bit embarrassed, after all, those were all plagiarized works.

"No, I'm being honest. A streamer whose chat room exceeds thirty times the capacity, and that too for a recording, you're the first in Starlight Stage's history," Yan Jianghua said.

"Where, where!" Tang Feng felt a bit elated, he had set a record, hadn't he?

"Here's the thing, we want to sign you with the highest streamer level! What do you think?" Yan Jianghua finally got to the point.

"The highest streamer level?" Tang Feng was a bit confused.

"Let's do this. It's hard to explain over the phone. I see your live stream address is in the capital. Can we meet somewhere to talk?" Yan Jianghua said.

"Sure!"

...

At a nearby café, Tang Feng met the head of the Starlight Stage talent department.

Yan Jianghua was in his thirties, dressed in a suit, a typical successful person.

"You must be Feng Shao, truly young and talented! At your age, I was still fooling around in school!" Yan Jianghua smiled and shook hands with Tang Feng.

They quickly sat down and each ordered a coffee.

"Let me first introduce you to the streamer signing levels at Starlight Stage!" Yan Jianghua smiled.

"Sure!" Tang Feng nodded.

"Starlight Stage streamer signing is divided into three levels!"

"The first level is Silver Streamer. For this level, the revenue split is 50-50, the exchange rate for Star Coins is 100:1, and you can apply for a chat room for free. The chat room's level depends on the number of viewers during the live stream. Essentially, it means conditional use of the chat room..."

"The second level is Gold Streamer. For this level, the revenue split and exchange rate are the same as Silver Streamer, but the chat room has no viewer limit. Gold Streamers also enjoy the same benefits as Starlight Stage staff, in addition to the rewards from live stream gifts!"

"The third level is the highest, Diamond Streamer. For this level, everything is the same as Gold Streamer, but they enjoy the same benefits as mid-to-high-level management in the company, including housing, travel, and a car worth at least 100,000 yuan! The most important point is that we can recommend your songs or live stream videos to the music and online video companies under the Starlight Group!"

"And the contract I have prepared for you is a Diamond Streamer contract! You should know that so far, Starlight Stage has only issued three Diamond contracts, and you would be the fourth! The first three are now stars!" Yan Jianghua said.

"Cough, can I see the contract first?" To be honest, Tang Feng was a bit tempted.

"Of course! I have the contract ready, you can take a look!" Yan Jianghua smiled, opened his briefcase, and handed the contract to Tang Feng. He then picked up his coffee cup and sipped it slowly.

To be honest, Yan Jianghua's sincerity was undeniable, and Tang Feng felt a bit swayed by the sweet talk. However, having lived two lives, he knew it was better to be cautious.

Flipping through the contract, Tang Feng read it carefully.

As Yan Jianghua had said, the contract specified that Diamond Streamers would enjoy the same benefits as mid-to-high-level management in the company, including housing, a car worth at least 100,000 yuan, and at least one international trip per year.

Tang Feng was quite satisfied with these benefits, but he didn't make a decision right away. He continued reading, knowing that with rights came responsibilities.

Everything seemed normal, with no obvious traps. However, when he saw a clause about copyright, his expression changed.

All live stream videos of signed streamers belong to Starlight Stage.

Signed streamers cannot engage in other work during the contract period without Starlight Stage's approval...

The contract period was even five years long!

Tang Feng closed the contract, having already decided not to sign it. This contract might be great for other streamers, but for Tang Feng, it was impossible to sign.

Firstly, the copyright of the live stream videos belonged to Starlight Stage, meaning his recordings could only be played on Starlight Stage, while Starlight Stage had the right to use his videos. For other streamers, this might not be a big deal, and the Tang Feng from yesterday might have signed it without hesitation. But the current Tang Feng wouldn't.

He wasn't stupid. This world was completely different from his previous one. So many video site editors were eager to find him, clearly because they saw the potential in his live stream videos. The clause requiring approval for other work would cut off all other opportunities for Tang Feng. This contract was essentially a contract of servitude for him.

How could he sign it? But he didn't show his dissatisfaction on his face.

"Any problems? If not, let's sign it!" Yan Jianghua placed a pen in front of Tang Feng.

Tang Feng pushed the contract back to Yan Jianghua. "I don't think I'll be signing this contract."

Yan Jianghua's smile froze. Rejected? He actually rejected it?
