That was the last time Hai Lan and Qin Ge met.
When she bid Qin Ge goodbye, they changed positions and, now he was the one in the coffin.
Her cheeks were hot, as Qin Ge’s mother waved to Lin Siwei, she didn’t hide, she just wanted to see him.
In the mourning hall, the people from the archaeological team, Lin Family and the most popular figures in the military department came. Everyone did, some of which she knew and many of which she didn’t. She only knew the people from the archaeological team. They stared at her with angry or complex looks.
When the police rushed to open the door to the gravesite, they found that seven of the sixteen men were shot and killed at the entrance while the other nine were killed inside.
Qin Ge was lying on a bright red coffin, he dropped his hands and gripped the coffin tightly. There were a few words scattered on the ground that could be seen: She was in the coffin.
He was covered in blood, with no spot left untouched. He had twelve fatal bullet wounds lodged in his chest. The autopsy revealed that the blood on his body had almost drained from him.
The excavation of the Emperor’s tomb caused a sensation. The first reason was the fact that the Dongling Emperor’s body was nowhere to be found. In its stead was an unconscious girl who had been shot in the shoulder. The second reason for the uproar was the fact that the young general, who was severely injured, had killed all the criminals.
After a joint examination was conducted by seven doctors, they concluded that it was impossible for him to have done it. Yet, he still managed to do it. He was a calm and courageous man, but his body went into a berserk mode that pushed his body’s functions beyond what they were capable of.
What exactly was he trying to protect? Was it worth it?
“Scram!”
When she was pulling at the hands and shoulders of Mother Qin and of Qin Fei, the professor had tried his best to persuade them to stop. Qin Baichaun exclaimed coldy as Lin Yuncong patted the shoulder of his old friend and softly said to the two standing by the side, “Take her out.”
Hai Lan suddenly broke free from Mother Qin and slowly knelt down. “Uncle Qin, I’m begging you, please let me go in and take a look at him.”
If Qin Ge hadn’t hid her inside the coffin and exposed himself, the criminals would’ve never shot him in the heart. But without the coffin’s cover, she would’ve died in the crossfire.
Qin Baichuan gritted his teeth. Lin Siwei saw a trace of sorrow on his face. She had been in love with Qin Ge for ten years, but what did she get? “Hai Lan, Qin Ge didn’t love you at all! He just saved you because it was his duty! Now get out of here!” she snarled.
Hai Lan continued to look at Qin Baichuan with bloodshot eyes, acting as if she hadn’t heard what Lin Siwei had just said.
The professor wiped the corners of his eyes and looked at Qin Baichuan, “Mr. Qin, I also beg of you, please just let-”
Lin Siwei coldly laughed and interrupted him, “Hai Lan, do you want to know who Qin Ge truly loves? He loves Lin Yu! Lin Yu, why don’t you come back and let this woman have a look at you-”
“Shut up! Don’t you think your Uncle Qin has had enough already?” Lin Yuncong scolded
Hai Lan looked down at the handkerchief and clenched it tightly. It was found beside her unconscious body, Qin Ge had probably left it there.
Lin Yu. Her whole body trembled when she heard that voice that came from behind her. “Siwei, are you looking for me?”
