Only two months ago, Hai Lan was still Qin Ge’s woman. But now, Qin Ge is already in a relationship with Lin Siwei.
Both Qin Ge and Lin Siwei came from powerful families with illustrious backgrounds. While the Qin family’s power was already massive, the Lin is said to be even more influential. But Hai Lan never had any idea how terrifying the titles of the two family’s patriarch are, and this was by no means the reason why they broke up.
Qin Ge is still very young but is already a major general¹. She knew of his abilities and how bright the future he has. Hence she is also aware of his disdains on the Lin family’s help.
Qin Ge is man with a terrifying calmness. She can still remember the time they broke up, she was rolling out the dough in Qin Ge’s apartment making noodles. When he came back, he hugged her and propped her on the kitchen counter, pulled her clothes apart and kissed her deeply. She giggled as they make out and even rubbed his face with her flour-filled hands.
But as they were eating, Qin Ge all of a sudden said, “Hai Lan, let’s break up.”
One moment he was just kissing her, now he wanted to break up.
She was startled for a long time before she smiled faintly and said, “You should’ve told me earlier so I could’ve been saved from the trouble. You know that I’m from the South and I’ve never made noodles? Yet I made this for four hours.”
Qin Ge put his chopsticks down and stared at her for a long while, the corners of his lips lightly raised as he said, “I will compensate you for this.”
The he handed her a seven-digit check.
She asked him why.
Qin Ge just said that Lin Siwei seems to be more suitable for him.
She just repled, “Okay.”
They have already been together for three years. Before her, Qin Ge had dated many wonderful women. So should she just be grateful that he did not put his identity when he dated her? After al, she is just an ordinary girl with an ordinary background.
As an in-between child, her parents have divorced, not have families and children on their own so she only felt like she did not belong in any of the two whole families. She can only move around a lot.
So when she was sixteen, she dragged her suitcase, gathered her things from both houses, and moved on her own. It was like a scene from the movies. Aside from the living expenses, she did not for anything more and lived quietly alone. She was in her junior year when the doctor took her and several other students to the cemetery to practice excavating. And in those Han tombs², she met him for the first time.
Back then, when he walked in front of her, she thought he was a senior in the department so she asked him to help her to carry the equipments. After tossing around, she felt everyones weird look, and only then did she found out that this tall handsome mom actually just came for Lin Siwei.
The Qin and Lin families have deep relationship and history. Whenever there are activities in the archeological team, Qin Ge will be invited, to which he occasionally agrees.
And after several meetings, Hai Lan tried to avoid him for the awkwardness of the misunderstanding. Qin Ge seems to have also forgotten it so they never did really talk after.
Until one night when she encountered several drunk men near the school.
She was so afraid back then, until Qin Ge suddenly appeared and beat the drunk men. He moved against them so hard that he even broke the man’s arms and legs.
“Where are you going at this hour?”
When he asked her, his eyes were dark and his tone extremely unpleasant. This scared her more than when she encountered the drunk men.
