Meriel stepped off the carriage and looked around the crowded market.

Meriel struggled in a crowded place, just as she had when she first left the Imperial Palace. She came out because she wanted to, but she felt nauseous when she arrived.

“Where are you uneasy, Your Grace?”

“Huh? No……”

For Meriel, a crowded place was a place where countless emotions were poured out.

Joy, sadness, anguish, rage, and enmity.

Meriel was aware of all emotions at this very moment.

‘It was quite difficult at the last banquet.’

Meriel, on the other hand, was tolerant at the banquet.

Nobles do not show their emotions. She felt good when she focused on their hidden feelings, but she was less sensitive to people at the time because she was angry with herself.

“It’s extremely congested.”

“The Grant is Dustin’s busiest part. Every day, the largest market in the East is held there, making it a very busy place.”

Bran’s words elicited a nod from Meriel. As he stated, the market was massive. This was much larger than the large mart she had seen when she was Doyeon.

“When there is a festival, there are more people.”

“Ah, that’s a bit…It will be difficult.”

She wanted to go to the festival, but she thought it would be too much for her to bear if there were more people than this.

She thought it was useful to be able to feel emotions, but there was a drawback.

Meriel moved away, distraught. Despite wearing a veil to conceal her face, she drew attention due to Bran, who was taller than a regular adult man.

“Aren’t you the knight commander?”

“What is he doing here?”

“Didn’t you come out as an escort?”

“Isn’t the Grand Duke out inspecting at this time of year?”

“Then….”

All eyes turned to Meriel, who was standing next to Bran.

“Commander, next time, hide your body a little bit,” she said quietly.

“Please accept my sincere apologies, Your Grace.”

“If you’re famous, you should have told me ahead of time.”

Bran cocked his head shyly. He was the Knight Commander of the Grand Duke Palace. It was odd that no one recognized him.

In the midst of the growing crowd, Meriel became dizzy. With numerous and curious gazes, various emotions drew closer and closer.

“Is there no place to rest for a moment?”

“There is a place where the Grand Duke frequently goes.”

“Where do you usually go?”

“Will you allow me to lead you there, Your Grace?”

“Yes, to a place with as few people as possible.”

Meriel used Bran’s massive size as a shield and disappeared with her quickly. It was simple for her to break through the swarming crowd. Because no one stood in the way of the knight commander.

“Here it is.”

“Oh…”

Meriel took a look around the quiet alleyway. She exclaimed in awe as she gazed at the clean streets devoid of trash. She usually made a dark and poignant alleyway near the market, but this was different. She thought going to a remote location would be creepy, but it wasn’t.

“Does the Grand Duke come here often?”

“Yes.”

“Did the Grand Duke visit a tea shop like this?”

“Do you like tea, Your Grace?”

“Ah…”

Klaus, Meriel recalled, was always drinking tea. Meriel, who didn’t know much about tea, was anxious, but the atmosphere of the store from the outside wasn’t bad.

Above all, it was very quiet.

She appeared to understand why Klaus liked this place. A bell rang in her ears. It was more glamorous than Meriel had imagined in a store. There were only a few tables, but there was a bar, just like you’d find in a shop.

As Meriel and Bran walked in, a woman standing inside the bar opened the door and looked at them. She exclaimed with her eyes wide open.

“Bran!”

Meriel cocked her head at the sound of her call.
