Meriel recalled Emperor Draven. He wasn’t the type of person who kept his promises, but he also wasn’t the type to do things like this.
If there is a commotion and the incident escalates, his prestige will suffer and his justification for being Emperor will be lost.
It is obvious that this had nothing to do with him.
‘Is it then an enemy of the Grand Duke?’
‘Did he have any enemies?’
Meriel rolled her eyes as she waited for an answer.
She had to think of a way out. She despised being apprehended and tortured in this way, but she despised being a burden to the Grand Duke even more.
‘It’s finally stabilized!’
Klaus embraced her, and the people of the Grand Duke acknowledged her. Meriel felt the peace she had hoped for.
She didn’t have to be silly, and she didn’t have to be wary of those who were close to her. She believed misfortune had been pushed aside.
“The first thing I can do is…”
Meriel ruffled her neatly arranged hair. When she dug her well-organized hair with both hands, it quickly became tangled. Her head ornaments were wrapped around her wrist and neck. She removed one of her shoes and tore the stockings she was wearing.
She looked out her window at her perforated stockings as Meriel quickly looked out.
Grant’s surroundings were unfamiliar no matter how hard she looked, but the road her carriage could take was limited. She could see the greatness so far away that she thought they had already run a long distance.
The sun was going down.
Without taking her gaze away from the window, Meriel reached out to feel the horseman’s emotions.
“He’s ecstatic to kidnap me.” She snorted quietly to herself.
Meriel returned her attention to the outside of the window after removing her hands. The rattling became more intense, and the carriage began to lean here and there, as if it had veered off a well-paved road.
She could have jumped and run if it had been now, but the Grand Duke’s palace was too far away.
The view outside the window had transformed into a forest. Meriel saw this forest on her way to Grant with Kiyan.
‘Are we attempting to flee Grant?’
That couldn’t be right.
Meriel wrapped the blanket from the carriage around her body.
Kiyan, who had returned to the Grand Duke palace, would have come to her aid if he had known she had not returned.
Before that, she wanted to do anything she could.
Meriel boldly pushed open the carriage door.
Meriel threw herself away as soon as she could get as close to the grass as she could.

Kiyan returned to the shop after watching Meriel climb into her carriage from afar. Eirin and Bran were standing haphazardly inside the shop.
“Did you send the Grand Duchess by herself?” Eirin inquired.
“She went by herself.” Kiyan responded quietly.
“Nevertheless, you should have followed her back to the palace.” Bran was adamant.
“How come you didn’t go?” Kiyan fired back.
“I was told by the Grand Duke not to follow you both.”
Bran leapt to his feet and followed Meriel out of the shop. Kiyan, on the other hand, stated that Bran would have to wait because he would be the one to go.
“You should have brought her with you in some way.” Eirin spoke quietly.
“……”
“You have no idea how a woman feels.” Eirin’s expression was completely different than when she was with Meriel.
Kiyan sighed as he looked into her cold eyes.
“She’s a difficult person to understand,” he said, feeling helpless.
“Do you think I’m knowledgeable?”
“That’s why I came to look for you…What brings Meriel here?”
“Bran brought her here.”
Bran averted his gaze and coughed unsuccessfully.
Eirin shook her head, her gaze fixed on the two insensitive men.
“Did you come to talk as to what you should do in order to win the princess’s heart?”
“……”
“You should have just admitted that you liked her.”
“Say that to someone who doesn’t even like me!”
“I heard you made it through the first night without incident?” Erin asked, her head tilted.
“Who did you hear that from?”
“Isn’t that correct?”
“That is correct, but who told you that?”
“Is there anyone you don’t know about Grand Duke’s fortress?”
Eirin shrugged and picked up Meriel’s teacup, which she had only drank one sip from.
“You spent the night together but won’t admit it. What a gentleman.”
“Eirin!”
“Klaus, you should be honest with women.”
Bran nodded his head in response to her words. Kiyan sighed once more at the two’s ridiculous behavior.
