Chapter 52

Second update of the night! Seeking all kinds of support and spread! Lin Qing was holding Li Meilin and her daughter, fleeing at high speed, when he suddenly turned his head and saw the sky filled with warning flares.

"Damn it! The six major sects have already started their attack on Bright Peak!" A flash of anger crossed Lin Qing's mind.

"Didn't they agree to delay the attack for three days?" Li Meilin asked, puzzled.

"We spent one day getting here, and another day and a bit more in the secret passage under Bright Peak. It's already the third day," Lin Qing sighed deeply, his eyes darting around. He said sternly, "Yanran, you must immediately return to Bright Peak. If possible, expose the crimes of these seven people to Yang Xiao and strip them of their positions! But most importantly, guard the entrance to the secret passage under Bright Peak and wait for us."

Yanran nodded and immediately rushed towards the narrow pass.

Lin Qing, with Li Meilin, charged in the direction of the six major sects.

After walking for thirty miles, they indeed saw dust rising ahead, with flags fluttering in the sky. The six major sects were advancing in neat formation towards Bright Peak.

The cavalry at the front brought Lin Qing and Li Meilin back to the center, where a large mobile tent pulled by sixteen fine horses was set up.

The leaders and elders of the six major sects—Kong Zhi, Song Yuanqiao, Extermination Nun, He Taichong and his wife, Xian Yutong, and the five elders of the Kunlun Sect—were gathered there, discussing the strategy for attacking Bright Peak with great tension.

Seeing Lin Qing, who looked wind-battered, many people's faces became even more mocking.

One of the five elders of the Kunlun Sect said, "Young Master Song, you must have had a hard time."

Zong Weixia said, "What important matters have you been busy with these three days?"

Tang Wenliang sneered, "And you brought a charming young woman from the Emei Sect, staying out for three nights. You must have been very busy."

"Ha ha ha!" The five elders burst into laughter together.

"Shut up!" Extermination Nun said angrily, her face displeased.

The five elders then restrained themselves, but the mocking looks on everyone's faces remained intense.

"Today, I will show you, this ignorant child, how I, Xian Yutong, will use my divine strategy to destroy the century-old foundation of the Ming Sect, uprooting it completely," Xian Yutong said with a calm and composed expression.

Master Kong Zhi clasped his hands together and said, "Young Master Song, the three-day agreement has expired, and you were not in the camp. I cannot wait any longer."

Lin Qing knew that the situation was beyond redemption, but at least he had completed the hidden task and laid the groundwork over these three days, giving him some confidence. He nodded and smiled, "No problem, Master. Qing Shu is back to participate in this great battle and is ready to follow orders."

Zhou Zhiruo's beautiful eyes met Lin Qing's, and she blushed, turning her head to look at Bright Peak.

In the morning mist, the sun rose from the direction of Bright Peak, shining brightly and blindingly.

Extermination Nun clasped her hands together and recited the Buddhist chant, "Not for the existence of Yao, not for the destruction of Jie. The Ming Sect also has such a brilliant sunrise? Today, I will unleash a great slaughter to subdue demons and defend the righteous path."

Master Kong Zhi said, "May the Ming Sect recognize the situation and surrender early to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. Amitabha."

However, the majority of the six major sects, especially the Kunlun Sect, Huashan Sect, and others, were fervent advocates of war. They were filled with the zeal of holy warriors, their faces brimming with excitement.

The world is bustling with people, all for their own interests. The conflict between the six major sects and the Ming Sect is also a struggle for power and status in the martial world. The Ming Sect has been dominant for over a century, suppressing the orthodox sects. Today, it is finally declining. If the orthodox sects can seize this opportunity, the benefits will be enormous.

Bright Peak was now within reach.

As they approached, everyone involuntarily drew a deep breath.

Indeed, Bright Peak was a place that was easy to defend but hard to attack!

With seven peaks and thirteen cliffs, each peak higher than the last, the terrain was towering and extremely dangerous. Many places had only narrow paths, and if the Ming Sect rolled down logs and stones from above, the casualties would be severe. Not to mention the first major obstacle, the narrow pass, which was truly a narrow path. On both sides were sheer cliffs, and if the Ming Sect had an ambush, just throwing down stones would cause heavy casualties among the six major sects.

Song Yuanqiao and Kong Zhi exchanged glances, their sense of foreboding growing stronger.

Lin Qing had already anticipated this, but his expression remained calm.

But Extermination Nun just sneered, "I will not become a Buddha until hell is empty! Follow me!"

She leaped lightly and rushed towards the narrow pass.

The many female warriors of the Emei Sect immediately drew their swords and charged forward, shouting. Jingxuan, Zhou Zhiruo, Ding Minjun, and others led the charge.

Even Li Meilin was involuntarily swept up by her companions and charged forward.

She was wearing the bulletproof vest Lin Qing had given her, so even if she was hit by arrows, she would not suffer fatal injuries.

Lin Qing did not want his women to die from stray bullets.

Li Meilin felt warm in her heart.

Lin Qing was a man who was both capable and gentle.

Seeing the Emei Sect's female heroes charging forward, the six major sects no longer hesitated, and everyone charged forward bravely.

Master Kong Zhi recited the Buddhist chant, and Song Yuanqiao's face was resolute. Since the situation had reached this point, there was no turning back; they could only move forward bravely.

In the narrow pass, the Ming Sect had deployed the Wood Flag and Earth Flag of the Five Elements Flags. In the early battles, the other three flags had suffered heavy losses, but these two flags were still intact. Lin Qing recognized the fat man Yan Heng from the Earth Flag, who was directing the battle. Under the Wood Flag, a muscular man stood proudly, with strong muscles and immense strength, likely the flag leader Wen Cangsong.

However, the outcome of the battle was unexpected.

The Wood Flag and Earth Flag, known for their deadly Five Elements Formation, did not unleash their full power. They only engaged in ordinary formations and tactics.

Although they had the geographical advantage, Extermination Nun, like a tiger descending from the mountains, led the charge with the sharp and invincible Heaven Sword. Her opponents were no match for her, and she often cut through both men and shields. Wherever the Heaven Sword went, limbs and weapons flew, armor and brains splattered, and heads and blood rained down.

With Extermination Nun's bravery, the Emei Sect's female warriors also fought fiercely, disregarding their own safety and charging forward.

The Wood Flag and Earth Flag could not hold their ground, and the fat man Yan Heng shouted, "Damn it! This old nun is formidable. Brothers, retreat!"

The Wood Flag and Earth Flag formed a defensive formation and slowly retreated.

Extermination Nun would not let them off, and she plunged into the battle, cutting and slashing.

Wen Cangsong's face was cold, and he unfurled the Wood Flag, throwing a green flag to the side of Extermination Nun. Inside the narrow pass, the sound of heavy footsteps could be heard. Five hundred members of the Wood Flag, with green cloth wrapped around their heads, each carrying a massive log, rushed forward. Each log weighed over a thousand pounds, with iron hooks attached. Each person held an iron hook, and their steps were perfectly synchronized.

Extermination Nun was taken aback and raised her hand, ordering the Emei Sect to stop.

Suddenly, Wen Cangsong shouted, and the five hundred logs were thrown simultaneously. Some were high, some were low, some were to the left, and some were to the right, all aimed at Extermination Nun. The logs did not miss, and the sound of impact was deafening. In an instant, the narrow pass, already not wide, was turned into a solid wall of logs!

The scene was truly astonishing!

The six major sects were stunned.

In open battle, being hit by this rain of logs, no matter how high or low, left or right, one could not avoid being hit. The formation of the Wood Flag was derived from siege tactics, where attackers would use large logs to ram city gates, breaking them open. In the face of such a barrage of logs, human bodies would be turned to pulp.

The six major sects immediately dared not press forward, allowing the Wood Flag and Earth Flag to retreat slowly.

Extermination Nun's face was ashen.

Master Kong Zhi stepped forward and smiled, "Congratulations, Extermination Nun, for your victory and the first great achievement."

Extermination Nun was unsatisfied, "These bandits relied on the terrain to retreat, and we didn't kill many of them. How can this be called a victory?"

Master Kong Zhi laughed, "There is no retreat on Bright Peak. They lost one strategic point and can only retreat further. We will advance step by step and eventually force them into a corner. Why blame yourself for not achieving perfection?"

Extermination Nun nodded.

The six major sects then burst into cheers.

Although the Wood Flag and Earth Flag fought bravely and the battle was extremely dangerous, in the end, the two flags suffered hundreds of casualties, while the Emei Sect only lost a dozen disciples. They had successfully breached the famous narrow pass, achieving a significant and impressive victory.

The six major sects became even more contemptuous of the Ming Sect.

The Emei Sect's reputation among the six major sects soared.

At this moment, Lin Qing became the target of everyone's merciless ridicule.

The five elders of the Kunlun Sect laughed wildly, "What unity and invincibility of the Ming Sect? Today, I see they have no special abilities. Once we attacked, they fled like rats. The Five Elements Flags are finished."

"The Heaven, Earth, Wind, and Thunder Departments are no better. The members of the Sky Eagle Sect are a disorganized mob."

"Today, we will break through the seven peaks and thirteen cliffs, reach Bright Peak, and extinguish the holy fire!"

"Let's go! Kill the heretics!"

The six major sects, with high morale, almost without waiting for Master Kong Zhi's orders, bravely charged towards the second line of defense, fearing that they would fall behind and lose the credit.

Extermination Nun led the charge, bringing the Emei Sect forward.

Lin Qing stood on the battlefield, littered with bodies, and sighed.

Everything was as he had predicted.

The second line of defense, at Green Pine Cliff, was guarded by the Heaven and Earth Departments, directly under Yang Xiao's command.

But this line of defense did not hold for long, collapsing almost immediately, with the Huashan Sect leading the breakthrough.

Xian Yutong was extremely pleased.

The third line of defense was breached two hours later by the five elders of the Kunlun Sect, and the Wind and Thunder Departments retreated.

The fourth line of defense, guarded by the Sky Eagle Sect, was broken by the Kunlun Sect, who used their shields to block the sparse poisonous arrows. He Taichong and his wife led the charge into the Sky Eagle Sect's formation, causing it to collapse...

By the time the sun set, the seven peaks and thirteen cliffs of Bright Peak were all in the hands of the six major sects!

It took only a single day!

Along the way, although the Four Direct Departments, Five Elements Flags, and Five Scattered Men all appeared and joined the battle, they were all defeated by the six major sects.

The legendary seven peaks and thirteen cliffs, known for their strategic importance, were all breached.

The Ming Sect had no choice but to retreat to their final line of defense—Bright Peak!

Bright Peak, where the holy fire burned fiercely!
