Chapter 57

How devastating was it for a woman to hang on to a man and get into an affair? With the vast majority of fans being women, those ambiguous photos of Xiang Tong and Feng Hui were like igniting a bomb, blowing them to smithereens!

With such a label as white lotus b*tch, and looking back at her previous gossip, they all became evidence that the two were having an affair. All her rumors, whether true or false, were branded as seducing men, and even the video of her deliberately hinting at her closeness to Fang Lizhe outside the set was unearthed.

At the time, fans thought she was asking Fang Lizhe for the sake of her fans. However, now that they look at it again, it was clear that she was deliberately flirting with Fang Lizhe, but Fang Lizhe refused her to avoid suspicion!

Compared with other male stars who enjoyed the ambiguity, Fang Lizhe simply left and saved face. Many people, while scolding Xiang Tong, didn’t forget to praise Fang Lizhe, which unexpectedly gained him a lot of fans.

The people who had approached Xiang Tong to do movies and commercials because of the success of ‘Demon Fox’ terminated their contracts, and Xiang Tong suddenly became an ‘infamous star’ that nobody wanted. She was an artist under Starlight, and Liang Xingyu didn’t believe that she had nothing to do with Feng Hui when she saw those photos. Liang Xingyu not only rushed to the company and slapped her, but also ordered Starlight to ban her. If she couldn’t find another banner to stand under, she definitely won’t be able to turn things around.

This time, she and Feng Hui were bound together, which was very disgusting. Naturally, no one would take them. Liang Xingyu and Starlight suppressed them, so they were completely finished.

After solving the two annoying flies, Su Yuanyuan felt much more comfortable. Fang Lizhe got his revenge, and Lin Xi decided to start a new life. They drank and celebrated, and the long-time best friends finally joined hands again and reignited their passion of entering the entertainment circle at the beginning of that year.

Fang Lizhe signed with Lin Xi as his agent and had Liu Lan change the script to add a role to ‘Legend of the Demon King’, second only to the three important supporting pairs. He appeared next to Su Yuanyuan in the later period, just in time to join the filming right now. Although his role was only ranked eighth, his persona was very good. He was the most loyal right-hand man of the Fox King, his only trusted person. He was also the only one who believed in the kindness of Fox King from beginning to end. He never questioned and even sacrificed himself to save the Fox King. He was an extremely brilliant and impressive character.

The act of adding more scenes and people in the middle of the process was very frustrating, but because there was no subtraction of other people’s scenes, and Lin Xi was, at heart, a 30-year-old ‘veteran actor’ who was at ease in the crew, and was kind and polite to everyone, no one could find fault in him. Furthermore, his acting skills were also above theirs, so no one really raised any objections in the end.

Lin Xi really loved acting, especially after such a great change. He cherished every minute of his life and acting opportunity, worked harder than ever before, delved into the script whenever he had time, and kept practicing. The final result was amazing to both the director and the screenwriter. Unexpectedly, it also helped the role of the Fox King. It added a lot of brilliance, as the Fox King was now less aloof and condescending, and was more connectable as a human being with seven emotions and six desires.

(TNote: seven emotions and six desires = more human-like/ seven emotions refer to happiness, anger, worry, thinking, sadness, fear, shock, while sic desires six desires refer to the physical needs or desires of people’s eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind.)

Although the lines for Lin Xi and Su Yuanyuan were for a monarch and their minister, when the scene of Lin Xi’s sacrifice was being captured, Liu Lan was moved to tears on the spot and pulled Chan Zhou to say, “Su and Lin CP will definitely appear as soon as this drama is broadcasted! Lin Xi’s loyalty to Susu is too loving! If it’s not true love, what else can it be? Everyone doesn’t understand Susu, and only Lin Xi supported her, with both of them dying in the end. The audience will be heartbroken! However, this is also good. Now, with these two roles deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, we will have succeeded!”

(TNote: CP = Shipping/ coupling / hoping that the two people or characters would be a real couple.)

Fang Lizhe was listening, and his brow moved slightly. Su Lin CP? The audience aren’t so bored that they would do that, will they? A person and a fox, what CP? This could be a scandal.

Not only did he think so, but Chan Zhou also thought so. He amusingly handed Liu Lan the tissue box, “What are you thinking about? The Fox King hadn’t even transformed, what relationship? ah…”

Liu Lan snorted, “You don’t understand this. Human-animal love is also cute to some people ah… Besides, wouldn’t Susu finally transform? We must find someone with a good appearance. Won’t this pair of male and female stars be CPed in the end? Just wait and see, this pair will be popular.”

Chan Zhou finally remembered something, “Eh? Brother Fang, who will be the person that she will transform into? Do you have any idea?”

Fang Lizhe shook his head and frowned slightly, “The transformation is important for the film even though it’s just that one scene and a few shots. The person’s appearance, temperament, and acting skills all have to be just perfect. If it’s only good on the surface, the final scene would be unsatisfactory.”

“We’re almost done filming. We really need to find someone quickly.” Chan Zhou took off his hat and fanned himself with some worry.

Su Yuanyuan ran over just in time to hear them. With a twinkle in her eye, she quickly jumped onto Fang Lizhe’s lap and gestured at him.

Fang Lizhe got up with understanding, exchanged pleasantries with Chan Zhou, and took her over to the lounge. When he saw no one around, he whispered, “What’s the matter? What is it that you want to tell me?”

Su Yuanyuan happily said, “Ah Zhe, aren’t there my fans in many countries now? I have so many more true fans, and they are getting more and more. I can now transform into my human form for 12 hours!”

“You can transform?!” Fang Lizhe’s eyes widened in surprise first, but then quickly reacted, “12 hours? What does that mean?”

“That is, I have a spell to transform into a human being. It’s just that I haven’t cultivated my third tail yet, so I’ll be weak for a day after I transform. It’s ok, it’s just that I will have no strength for 1 day, and no other after effects. Didn’t you just say you couldn’t find anyone to act as the Fox King? Then I’ll act! Doesn’t it make sense to let me play the human form I transformed myself into, or appear in the eyes of the fans?” Su Yuanyuan laughed so hard that her eyes narrowed, thinking that the timing was just right.

If she transformed before, it was really inappropriate. Who would like to watch the Fox King transform into a little girl? But ‘Demon Fox’ has brought too many benefits for her when it was released overseas, and her true fans had tripled! Now she had 6,000 wish points, and she would turn into a girl around 18 years old, just the right appearance. Moreover, with the increase of mana, the time she could transform was lengthened to 12 hours, and the after effect had shortened to one day, which is greatly beneficial to her. It won’t be very troublesome to do anything in a human form in the future.

Fang Lizhe did not want to discourage her, but still frowned and advised, “It’s better to let nature take its course. You lost so much cultivation to summon Lin Xi’s soul before. If the forced transformation affects you again, it’s not worth the loss. With your current popularity, you will be more popular in the future, and may soon be able to transform. When that time comes, you can film whatever you want. There’s no hurry right now.”

Su Yuanyuan shook her head like a rattle, “No, I can’t. I’m acting as myself. Why would I let others act the part?” She jumped to Fang Lizhe’s shoulder and rubbed her cheek on his face, saying, “Let me act, let me act, I promise nothing will happen. I certainly won’t act if something happens. I’m not stupid.”

Fang Lizhe grabbed her into his arms, helplessly patted her, and asked, “Is it really okay?”

“It’s okay! Absolutely okay!”

“Well then, I’ll go talk to Chan Zhou and the others.”

Fang Lizhe could handle this little thing. Although Chan Zhou and Liu Lan were a little uneasy when they hadn’t seen the person, they still believed in Fang Lizhe. Even if it was only for Su Yuanyuan, Fang Lizhe wouldn’t mess around with the film, so they agreed to let the person come directly when shooting the scene, and in order to shoot the scene well, they only shot the scene of the Fox King’s transformation on that day, and concentrated on the scene.

After returning home, Fang Lizhe asked Su Yuanyuan how long it would take to completely transform afterwards. Su Yuanyuan calculated and happily said, “At this rate, I’ll be able to transform completely in another 9 months!”

From 7 or 8 years, to 3 or 4 years, to 9 months. Fang Lizhe also appreciated the power of true fans! He asked inexplicably, “If the fans turn into haters, or if you take human form, the little fox loses fans, will your cultivation not decrease? Doesn’t your cultivation all depend on true fans?”

“Of course, if one day I’m completely hated, it’s going to be the same as the day you just met me.”

Fang Lizhe looked at her from head to tail and coughed awkwardly, “I don’t see any difference…, it seems like your fur is smoother…?”

Su Yuanyuan immediately waved her little paws, and the sofa in the living room suddenly rose and disappeared. She pointed to the bedroom and proudly said, “The sofa is inside! When you first met me, I had to move it slowly, but now it’s fast enough to teleport. There are also five element spells that are inconvenient to show you right now. In short, my accomplishments are mainly reflected in spells, which are much more powerful than before. When I cultivate the third tail, not only can I take human form, but I can also use better spells. The difference is big!”

Fang Lizhe went into the bedroom and looked at the sofa. He quickly asked Su Yuanyuan to teleport the sofa back, and then asked what cultivation had to do with fans.

Su Yuanyuan thought for a moment, and made a simple analogy, “Like worshipping Buddha, those temples dedicated to the Buddha statue represents that Buddha, relying on the sincere faith in his followers to provide him with power. The more incense proves the more belief in him, and the greater his power will naturally be. People who worship Buddha don’t necessarily believe in Buddha, so only those who are sincere can provide strength, just like my fans. Ordinary fans don’t necessarily like me so much. Maybe, they would even stop being fans one day. Only true fans will like me from the bottom of their heart and wish me well. This will form a kind of wish power for me, and I rely on this to cultivate. Not only fans, but also other people, such as friends who really like me. They could give me their wishes. Anyway, what is needed is a sincere heart.”

She didn’t know if Fang Lizhe could understand it. Anyway, she had to explain it clearly, she couldn’t let the Scholar think that she practices the evil way, and suck people’s essences. That misunderstanding would be too heavy.

Who knew that Fang Lizhe never doubted her, and after understanding the ‘principle’ of her cultivation, he went into the study to write a plan. The little fox must maintain her human form after she transforms, so he has to arrange it first so that the loss of Susu fans was as little as possible. At that time, the humanoid Su Yuanyuan should become popular as soon as possible, and its popularity will be connected, without affecting Su Yuanyuan’s cultivation. This must be planned well.
