Chapter 152

With a squeak, the door of the operating room was pushed open. Everyone waited anxiously. Bai Weijin and Gu Yeze also stopped quarrelling.

How was it going?

Under the gaze of the crowd, Dr. Xing slowly opened his mouth, “The patient is out of danger, but because of the severe blow to the head, he may go into a coma.”

“That is, a vegetative state.”

His words put Bai Weijin in a terrible mood, especially after learning that Gu Yeyu would become a vegetable.

Her eyes popping with astonishment, Bai Weijin couldn’t believe what she just heard. ‘Does he really want to put me under house arrest? Just for Tan Xin’s sake?’

Her heart sank, and she looked black. ‘No, I cannot wind up like this!’

Her resistance was particularly fierce as the bodyguards came closer.

Bai Weijin jumped out of her wheelchair with all her strength and stabbed her finger into one bodyguard’s eye in a flash.

The bodyguard soon gave a blood-curdling scream, curling himself into a ball on the ground and writhing in agony

All present were taken aback, especially Gu Yeze, for he never seen Bai Weijin acting like this. Yet a smug smile played across Bai Wei’s lips.

Struggling to endure the pain in her stomach, Bai Weijin staggered to her feet and ran in the direction of the door.

‘This is my last chance. I must escape here anyway!’

The bodyguards finally realized what had happened. They roared, ready to go after Bai Weijin. It was obvious that her act had enraged them.

Gu Yeze couldn’t help but frown slightly, giving an order, “Catch her, but do not get her hurt.”

The bodyguards exchanged glances and remained their composure.

Seeing no one follow her, Bai Weijin breathed a sigh of relief. ‘There’s still a faint hope that I can flee from here.’’

Suddenly, she felt an acute pain in the abdomen. Bai Weijin subconsciously covered her stomach with both hands, and it was sticky to the touch.

Out of curiosity, Bai Weijin raised her finger to see what it was, and some bloodstains came into view.

Her heart started thumping. ‘I’m done for! The wound is gaping!’ Bai Weijin thought to herself. What’s worse, it was not Dr. Xing but she herself who took care of the rest wounds.

A strong sense of displeasure came over Bai Weijin. She bit her lip, reluctant to give up.

In the twinkling of an eye Bai Weijin felt an attack of dizziness coming on and could find no strength at all. She collapsed and passed out.

In a trance, Bai Weijin could feel her blood ooze. ‘I may not make it…’

In a matter of seconds, Gu Yeze rushed into the hospital with his bodyguards, only to find Bai Weijin lie in a pool of blood. His heart sank.

No wonder his eyelids were twitching…

“Doctor!” Gu Yeze shouted, “She’s fainted!”

Dr. Xing who just walked out of the operating room was covered in sweat. Before he had the chance to take a breather, the woman lying weltering in blood greeted him.

Dr. Xing couldn’t help but yell at Gu Yeze.

“The patient needs recuperation now! Can’t you wait for a moment?”

“Do you want her to die?”

Hardly had Gu Yeze received such criticism ever. His face wore a sullen look at once.

Despite that, he made no retort, for he knew Dr. Xing was right.

He couldn’t take the risk of letting Bai Weijin run wild.

Gu Yeze picked up the mobile phone and dialed a number “Is Yan Qing speaking? I need you to come here at once.”

Yan Qing was the private doctor of Gu family and now took care of Gu Yeze alone.

Once he asked Dr. Yan for help, Gu Yeze would inevitably get told off the day his parents came abroad.

But the urgent task at present was to cure Bai Weijin, Gu Yeze thought to himself.

When Bai Weijin woke up, she found herself in the villa with Gu Yeze.

Her heart sank as soon as the familiar ceiling met her eyes. Bai Weijin knew she had been taken captive by Gu Yeze.

Supporting herself on the side of the table, Bai Weijin moved step by step towards the door.

When she approached the door, Bai Weijin staggered and seemed to fall. ‘Damn it! I find no strength at all!’

She closed her eyes in desperation. ‘Again, I may go into a coma.’

Suddenly, one outstretched his hands to hold Bai Weijin firmly, her head buried in his arms.

Bai Weijin noticed a smell of medicine, which produced a pretty calming effect on her mind. ‘Who’s this guy? How come he’s here?’

Before Bai Weijin realized what had happened, a cold voice came from behind.

“Can you stop tormenting yourself, Miss Bai? I don’t want to sew up your wound again.”

She turned around to have a good, hard look, and a tall figure appeared in front of her.

The man wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses and had a beauty mark under his left eye. He was neatly dressed.

Bai Weijin’s dazed look met his eyes. Yan Qing frowned and warned her “kindly”.

“Miss Bai, behave yourself, or I’ll give you a sedative injection.”
