“Sign your name here.” The man had absolutely no intention of explaining the reason behind but took the document directly from the assistant and handed it to her.

If his grandmother had not pushed him into marriage or found out what had happened last night, Gu Yeze would not be so anxious.

It took him only half an hour this morning to figure out Bai Weijin’s family background. Contrary to Miss. Tan, she had no complicated family relationships, and thus would cause him no trouble. Besides, her strong character could hopefully help her avoid being bullied in the midst of possible rivalry with his grandma.

After some consideration, Gu Yeze found it was a favorably good choice.

Bai Weijin stared at the pages he handed, on which the words were written in black and white.

A MARRIAGE AGREEMENT!!!

She found herself even unable to recognize those words. Despite her acquaintance of each of them, Bai Weijin was confused with the actual meaning of the very phrase.

Wasn’t it really a notification of critical illness?

She could hardly accept it even after what he had done to her.

Was it possible that he fell in love with her last night?

Bai Weijin quickly vetoed the idea the moment it struck her.

She did look good, but Gu Yeze, a man of great power, must have seen and even made love with women who were more beautiful. How could he take a fancy to her who not only had no sexual experience but failed to appreciate “his kindness”?

Maybe he was mentally retarded?

Having received no reply from Bai Weijin for a while, Gu Yeze was annoyed and ran out of his patience, “your opinion.”

“Well…” Bai Weijin gave a wry smile and tried to face the fact that Gu Yeze wanted her to sign the marriage agreement, “It’s too late today. The Civil Affairs Bureau is gonna close, so is the Registry of Marriage. I’m afraid we can’t make it today.”

“Sign it, and you can see the marriage certificate in less than an hour. ”

Well… Money talked! It did talk.

Bai Weijin took a deep breath as if making a big decision. Picking up the pen shakily, she stared closely at the paper, propped the tip of the pen on it, but wrote no word down for a while.

She uttered an exclamation, turning her head in puzzlement to look at the man who still looked calm, “What does this mean? I don’t get the point…”

Was there any more point except several provisions thereunder?

Gu Yeze frowned and intended to see the words on the paper when Bai Weijin flicked the nib. The pen hat was gone, and the ink splattered all into his eyes. Strong stimuli forced Gu Yeze to cover his eyes immediately.

Bai Weijin gave a wicked smile, snapped open the door of his car at the opportunity and ran away.

Before leaving, she made an arrogant utterance, “Only fools get married!”

When Gu Yeze opened his eyes again, there was nothing left but the mild fragrance of the woman.

There was a sharp crack as the new phone was broken into half.

Bai Weijin, you thought you could run away?

The last beam of sunlight disappeared in the sky before Bai Weijin ran barefooted a long distance away down the gravel path. A gust of strong wind blew the sand and mud onto her ankle when her skirt rode up. She felt a shooting pain.

Bai Weijin frowned and stopped, biting her lips speechlessly and looking gloomily at the dark sky.

Was it going to rain? Everything sucked when one was down on his luck!

Bai Weijin had planned to find a hotel and have a rest, but at present, it seemed that the rain would come down before she spotted one.

She needed to find a place first where she could take shelter from the rain.

The phone in her pocket rang when Bai Weijin made up her mind.

After last night, a crack emerged on the phone screen somehow, and the battery was running down. Despite that, a name presented itself faintly.

It was Aunt Li.

Aunt Li came to Bai family when her mother married his father. She watched Bai Weijin grow up, and was the only one there who treated her and her mother in all sincerity.

Bai Weijin’s jade-like eyes turned warm. She answered the call.

Aunt Li seemed to speak in a lowered voice as if to avoid something.

“Miss Bai, you need to come back soon! Your stepmother and your sister have moved your stuff out and thrown them away one by one… Also, your mother’s stuff…”
