Chapter 78

3 min read687 words

It's time for another book to go up on the shelf. After midnight, around five minutes past, I will upload the first VIP chapter of Fate.

Actually, this book wasn't originally called The Ring of Fate. Lumian wasn't certain about becoming a "dancer" either, and the path of fate wasn't set in stone.

At the time, when they asked me for the title, I thought of a few conventional ones, but they were all unsatisfactory and were sent back to me. In a fit of pique, I decided to name it according to the mysterious pattern, so I picked a few names that sounded good from the set outer god paths and Sequence 0, and threw them at them, letting them choose.

What I didn't tell them was that whichever name they chose would determine which outer god's blessing Lumian would receive, influencing certain plot arrangements and corresponding entry points.

Then, they chose "The Ring of Fate." I looked and thought, "Oh, this fits quite well with the Hunter, and it might help solve my dilemma with a key plot point in the later stages."

In that instant, everything became clear. This path seemed more fitting than the one I had initially favored.

Perhaps, this was fate's arrangement.

The Ring of Fate was thus born under the arrangement of fate.

As the second part of the Mysterious series, writing Fate has its unique challenges:

First, the general worldview has already been revealed, so I can't follow the slow exploration and gradual unfolding pace of the first volume of Mysterious. I need to introduce new elements and have other attractions.

Second, under the shadow of the many popular characters in Mysterious, both the protagonist Lumian and other characters in Fate will inevitably face significant pressure. With such high standards set, they will always be compared. From the beginning, I didn't want Lumian to have the same personality as Xiao Ke, the same gentleness. He should have his own experiences, with both good and bad aspects of his character. That's why I chose the Hunter and the opening where he is tainted by an outer god.

Now, the first part, Succubus, has expanded the worldview and introduced elements related to outer gods. I've said before that writing the second part of the Mysterious series isn't just rehashing old content. There are many sequences that haven't been detailed, many countries that haven't been described, and many new things that haven't been told. When setting up the outer god paths, many aspects excited me and seemed very interesting. Moreover, while doing this, I kept thinking about how such elements would be presented in the Western continent and in an Eastern context.

Alright, getting back to the main point, as Fate is written, everyone can see that, while inheriting the framework of Mysterious, it has its own unique elements, its own rhythm, and many new characters. They will interact with the many characters from Mysterious, together creating new stories.

I can't guarantee that I will write it exceptionally well, but I can assure you that I will invest all my energy and passion into it, as this is a new challenge for me.

Writing the same things all the time would bore me and lead to aesthetic fatigue. I remember saying before that I hope my writing career will always remember these eight words: "Never satisfied, always challenging."

Now, I am ready to face this challenge.

At midnight tonight, Fate will go up on the shelf. I sincerely ask for your support and subscriptions.
