Chapter 11

"Well, it's the real deal from today."

I look at the 'Luck' on my status screen. The other day, I was told by the receptionist about the 'probability of monsters dropping magic stones' compiled by the Adventurer's Guild, and it turned out that my magic stone collection rate was one-fifth of an average person's.

Since the cause was almost certainly the 'minus' in 'Luck,' I poured status points into 'Luck.'

As a result...

"Today, I killed 25 goblins before reaching the second floor, and got 3 magic stones."

Compared to before, it's clearly increased.

"Although it's still not the probability the guild mentioned due to my low luck, it's definitely getting better. This will improve my earning efficiency."

I have a reason to earn money here.

To train as much as possible before the deadline, I need to go down to the lower floors and fight stronger monsters. Since my current equipment won't cut it, I want to upgrade it here.

While thinking about this, three kobolds appeared.

I've killed about 300 of them over the past two days, so I'm used to this formation.

'Grrrr'

Targeting the middle kobold that's growling, I charge in from the left diagonal and use a skill.

"Bash!"

The kobold I knocked away with my left slash collides with another kobold standing to the right rear.

'Gah!'

Of course, this was intentional. With this one hit, I killed one kobold and temporarily incapacitated another.

'Gaaaah!'

While this was happening, the last one approached.

'Grr! Grr!'

It roared in anger and swung its sword at me multiple times. However, I calmly read the sword's trajectory, dodged it, and inflicted several wounds on its vulnerable body.

'Grrrr'

Thanks to the 'Swordsmanship' skill, my slashing accuracy has improved. Unlike the kobold, I'm not just swinging my sword; with each slash, I'm injuring vital points.

'Gah!'

The kobold ran out of strength after the fifth wound. The entire fight took less than ten seconds.

"Well, one more."

Finally, the kobold that had been pushing against me came towards me. As soon as it entered my killing range...

"Bash!"

'Gah...'

I finished it with one slash. Unlike the first time I fought a kobold, this battle was completely risk-free.

"Phew, have I grown a bit?"

Even though I can now overwhelm them, they are still just kobolds. There are still stronger monsters in the lower floors, so I need to train more.

Watching the kobold's corpse get absorbed by the dungeon, I confirmed that a magic stone was left on the ground.

"Alright!"

I collected the magic stone, which now drops more reliably, and started looking for the next kobold.

"For now, I've exceeded my target amount."

On the table are 2 gold coins, 30 silver coins, and 5 copper coins. When I exchanged them at the guild, 100 silver coins became 1 gold coin, which made me feel lighter and a bit uneasy.

Thanks to today's intense kobold hunting, I was able to get a lot of magic stones, which I exchanged at the Adventurer's Guild.

When I handed over more than three times the amount of magic stones I did the other day, the receptionist was greatly surprised.

"Tomorrow, I'll go to the weapon shop and rest my body."

Even if I dive into the dungeon every day, it's mentally exhausting. I plan to take it easy tomorrow after preparing for my adventures.

Before that, I checked my status and allocated the newly acquired status points to Strength...

"Huh?"

My Strength, which was '116,' became '117.' This isn't a problem.

"Didn't I just lose 2 status points?"

The status points that were '40' a moment ago are now '38.' It's probably the same rule as when I acquire a skill.

"When did this start?"

The last time I increased my Strength was the day before yesterday, and I set it to exactly 100. After that, my Strength naturally increased with each level up, but it might be that when it reaches a round number like 100, it requires more status points to allocate.

"If that's the case, it's better to allocate up to 100 as soon as possible, right?"

My current Strength is '117.' Even if it exceeds 100, it will continue to increase with each level up, so the number of increases remains the same.

My Agility and Vitality are both 84, but if I leave them to increase naturally with each level up, they will eventually exceed 100. At that point, it will cost 2 points to allocate, but now it only costs 1 point, so it's more efficient to exceed 100 now.

"For now, I'll allocate to 'Agility' and 'Vitality'..."

After setting both to 100, I had 6 points left.

"Maybe I'll put the rest into 'Dexterity.'"

I'll focus on the stats that increase when my Warrior level goes up.

"Yeah, that's about it?"
