"Come over here!"
I raised the divine sword Volmunk and provoked the naked ogre in front of me.
"AAAAAAAAAA?"
However, the naked ogre did not move, standing with its back to the fallen woman. This made it impossible for me to use the Evil Beam.
"Damn it!"
With no other choice, I decided to close the distance.
"IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!"
In the next moment, the naked ogre swung its club, sweeping it towards me.
"Whoa!"
Although the swing was wide, I managed to dodge it, but I couldn't fully predict the naked ogre's movements.
"If you're going to fight, come a bit closer."
I moved to the side while dodging the attacks, but the woman was still lying in a straight line. I read the naked ogre's attack pattern and, when it raised its club, I saw my chance.
"Here it is!"
I made up my mind and leaped into the fray, slashing horizontally with my sword.
"UUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE!?"
However, my leap and estimation were off, and my sword only lightly slashed the naked ogre's abdomen.
"I should have practiced more sword techniques."
After all, my original stats were weak, and I was often mocked by others. I spent more time reading books, and the only time I did anything like this was during play with Alicia.
Even during those games, I was knocked out by a blow to the head from Alicia, so my sword skills were completely amateurish.
"But now is not the time to regret what I don't have."
After all, I didn't know when the naked ogre would change its target to the fallen woman. I continued to attack, albeit clumsily.
"OoOooOooo!!"
"You're not going down easily, are you?"
I sighed in front of the panting naked ogre. Despite my amateur sword skills, thanks to my stats, I could easily read the ogre's attacks. However, because my swings were weak, I couldn't bring it down.
"But is it just a matter of time?"
The ogre's movements were gradually slowing, and I had recovery methods. If this continued, I would be able to defeat it soon.
"U... um"
At that moment, the hooded woman groaned and rolled over. When she woke up, she said...
"Huh? Where am I?"
The hood fell off, revealing beautiful blonde hair. Blue eyes and pointed ears—she was an elf, a beauty that could be described as almost ethereal.
"Bloody Ogre!?"
Her scream made the naked ogre react, and it turned to face her.
"Idiot! Run!"
I panicked and ran towards her. The naked ogre's club swung like a scythe. I managed to get in between and embraced her...
"Kyaaaaaa!"
The club's blow sent us both flying.
"Ow... it hurts."
She made a pained sound in my arms. She seemed to be alive.
"I'm glad I made it in time. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, but... you..."
She looked at my body with concern.
I had taken the club's blow on my right side, and my right arm was broken.
"It's fine as long as you're safe."
I could heal my injuries with Perfect Heal. As long as I didn't die, it was no big deal.
"Run! Run!"
She shouted in my arms.
"That's a Bloody Ogre! It's been living in this forest for a long time and has been tormenting us!"
I see, that explains why it's so strong. But...
"It would be better to defeat it here."
"It's impossible! Your arm is injured, and your weapon..."
I followed her gaze.
In my panic, I had thrown the divine sword Volmunk to the ground. It was behind the Bloody Ogre, so I couldn't retrieve it.
"KAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
The Bloody Ogre, confident of victory, smiled and raised its club.
"It's over!"
The elf woman closed her eyes, seemingly giving up. But I had been waiting for this moment.
"It's not over!"
In the next instant, the Evil Beam pierced the Bloody Ogre.
"KIKUKEKO?"
"Huh?"
The Bloody Ogre's form disappeared before her eyes, leaving only a lump of flesh and horns. It seemed to have dropped items, indicating it was dead.
"What just happened...?"
I said to the woman, who was still trying to grasp the situation.
"It's good. The monster that has tormented you for years is dead."
