After dinner.
The three girls helped clear the dishes.
As a thank you, Su Yu offered to take them home and buy some ingredients at the supermarket on the way.
Miura Yumeko and Erimi Himeka were going to the station, so Su Yu dropped them off there.
"Su Yu-kun, Yui is very shy, so please make sure to take good care of her on the way home," Erimi Himeka said with a smile.
"Su Yu-kun, see you tomorrow," Miura Yumeko glanced at Yui Yuigahama, who was blushing, and waved to both of them.
Su Yu watched them walk into the station and then turned to Yui Yuigahama.
"Let's go."
"Okay."
Yui Yuigahama looked at Su Yu and started to lead the way.
Actually, her house wasn't far from here.
But walking with Su Yu, she seemed to enjoy this feeling.
The two walked quietly together.
Occasionally, cars with their lights on passed by.
Yui Yuigahama didn't know what to say, just sneaking glances at Su Yu.
Although Su Yu's eyes were on the road, it seemed he was thinking about something else.
"Su Yu-kun," Yui Yuigahama called out.
"Hmm?" Su Yu turned to look at her.
"Do... do you have any dreams?" Yui Yuigahama came up with a topic.
"Dreams?" Su Yu was taken aback.
To be honest, he hadn't really thought about dreams, but he had aspirations, which he had already achieved.
"Sorry, it might be a bit hard to answer suddenly. Let's change the topic. What do you want to do in the future? Do you have any goals?" Yui Yuigahama realized her question was too difficult for a high school student when Su Yu couldn't answer.
Even she couldn't easily say what her dreams were.
"What I want to do in the future, I'm not sure yet, but I think I want to write light novels and try to become a light novelist before graduation," Su Yu replied.
"Is Su Yu-kun an otaku?" Yui Yuigahama joked.
"I do like light novels and anime," Su Yu didn't deny his interests.
"Can I read the light novel you write?" Yui Yuigahama smiled.
"Sure." Su Yu nodded.
"What kind of story will Su Yu-kun write?" Yui Yuigahama asked.
Hearing this, Su Yu fell silent for a moment.
Then, he looked up at Yui Yuigahama.
"Probably a romance."
"Romance?" Yui Yuigahama's face turned slightly red.
Su Yu looked at her, thinking his words might be hinting at something.
Thinking of this, Yui Yuigahama lowered her head, not daring to look at Su Yu.
Soon, they arrived at her house.
Su Yu stopped in front of Yui Yuigahama's house.
"Yui, see you tomorrow."
"Su Yu-kun, see you tomorrow." Yui Yuigahama waved her hand.
Su Yu turned and left.
Yui Yuigahama watched him until he was out of sight, then walked to her door.
"I'm home."
She opened the door with a smile.
...
After buying the ingredients from the supermarket.
Su Yu returned home.
He put the ingredients in the fridge, opened a can of drink, and walked into his bedroom.
His bedroom was simple.
A bookshelf, a bed, a wardrobe, and a desk.
On the desk was a computer.
Su Yu turned on the computer and searched for how to submit a manuscript.
He found two methods.
The first was author recommendation, where a famous light novelist would recommend the manuscript to an editor.
The second was to participate in various contests held by the publishing house, such as the current New Light Novelist Contest.
This was a regular contest, and light novelists who won awards here could become famous in the future.
Su Yu looked at the deadline, which was still a few months away, continuing until winter. The top ten of the New Light Novelist Contest would be announced in the spring of the following year based on sales and reader reviews.
After understanding this information, Su Yu didn't rush to start writing the novel but searched for famous light novels in that world.
He knew none of them existed in this world.
Su Yu categorized these light novels. For romance, the first one was "My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As Expected."
He couldn't write this, even if he changed the character names, as there would be many similarities.
In addition, there were a few romance novels he could reference.
However, Su Yu felt that just because these novels hadn't appeared in this world didn't mean they were safe; the characters might exist here.
Of course, this was just a hypothesis.
Su Yu wrote down some settings in his notebook without naming them.
He knew that the key to light novels was attractive character design, so writing the female protagonist's character setting first should be fine.
...
In the morning.
On the way to school.
Su Yu yawned, feeling a bit sleep-deprived.
A few minutes later.
He arrived at the shoe locker.
"Good morning, Su Yu-kun." A lively voice greeted him.
"Good morning." Su Yu looked and saw it was Yui Yuigahama.
"Su Yu-kun, did you stay up late?" Yui Yuigahama noticed Su Yu's complexion.
"I was thinking about the novel's settings," Su Yu replied.
"Your face doesn't look good. You can think about the settings during lunch break. You should get a good night's sleep," Yui Yuigahama reminded him.
"Okay, I'll remember that." Su Yu changed his shoes and looked at Yui Yuigahama.
Yui Yuigahama blushed and smiled awkwardly under his gaze.
Su Yu walked upstairs, and Yui Yuigahama followed behind.
When they arrived at the classroom.
Miura Yumeko and Erimi Himeka were already there.
Erimi Himeka saw Yui Yuigahama and Su Yu and walked over with a smile.
"Good morning, Su Yu-kun." Erimi Himeka greeted him with a smile, but her eyes were on Yui Yuigahama.
"Good morning." Su Yu nodded and walked to his seat.
Erimi Himeka smiled at Yui Yuigahama, making her too shy to meet her gaze.
When Hachiman Hikigaya entered the classroom, the first class officially began.
...
The morning classes passed quickly.
Su Yu resisted his drowsiness and made it to lunch break.
He was about to get up to go to the Service Club when a figure blocked his path.
Yui Yuigahama held a bento box, her face red.
"Su... Su Yu-kun, can we have lunch together?"
"Sure." Su Yu hesitated for a moment but didn't refuse Yui Yuigahama.
Hearing Su Yu's answer, Yui Yuigahama's face brightened.
Su Yu took the bento box and walked out of the classroom.
Yui Yuigahama followed him.
Erimi Himeka and Miura Yumeko both smiled.
In the hallway.
"Su Yu-kun, thank you," Yui Yuigahama said softly.
"Yui, actually, I wanted to refuse and take a good nap," Su Yu looked at her.
"S... Sorry." Yui Yuigahama remembered Su Yu's lack of sleep.
"But you're too cute, just like the female protagonist I imagined. So, can I have a pillow on your lap?" Su Yu said seriously.
"Eh?"
