There is a saying, "Appearance is 90% of everything." Whether or not this is true, the image one projects cannot be underestimated.

When Lazulis eventually declares his candidacy for the throne, being too short might lead to him being underestimated, and it would also make it harder to gain the support of the nobles.

--- Besides... if I remain taller than him, it won't look good. His Highness might get upset and end up seeking a shorter woman...

Garnet is not particularly tall, but there is already a four-year age gap between them. Lazulis's current height only reaches Garnet's shoulder. If Garnet and Lazulis stand next to each other now, most people would not think they are engaged.

--- For that reason, you must eat properly.

She seated the grumbling Lazulis at the dining table and smiled gently.

--- But if he grows up properly...

Lazulis's features, though young, are well-defined. If he grows up properly, he will surely become a handsome young man that turns heads.

...If he grows up properly, that is.

"Come, let's give thanks for the bounty of the earth and have breakfast."

Lazulis's seat is laden with a variety of breakfast dishes, far more than he could possibly finish alone. Since his food preferences were unknown, Garnet had ordered the palace chef to prepare a wide range of dishes.

--- Still, for the palace chef not to know His Highness's preferences... If he often skips meals, isn't that a dereliction of duty?

It seems Lazulis is a terrible picky eater and rarely eats much of what is prepared. Even the chef who works here doesn't know his favorite dishes. Garnet decided to start early and make sure he eats nutritious meals.

When Lazulis saw the numerous plates spread across the table, he clearly grimaced.

"There's no way I can eat all of this."

"Of course, I don't expect you to finish everything. However, skipping breakfast is out of the question. As the saying goes, 'A day's plan is made in the morning,' and it's essential to get the necessary nutrients."

When Garnet said this, Lazulis sighed heavily.

"Didn't I tell you before that it's fine?"

"Of course, I remember. But I came here of my own accord to see His Highness Lazulis."

Upon hearing this, Lazulis's eyes widened in surprise. After staring at Garnet for a few seconds, he awkwardly averted his gaze. But after a moment, perhaps unable to withstand Garnet's gaze, he looked around uncomfortably and reluctantly picked up his fork.

He took a small bite of salad and a few pieces of bread.

That was all Lazulis ate from the mountain of dishes. Garnet held back from saying, "You should eat more," and instead decided to praise him first.

"Truly, His Highness Lazulis. It's wonderful that you're eating breakfast properly."

"Are you making fun of me?"

"No, I am simply in awe of your majesty."

--- "Miss, to make a man fall for you, the key is to praise, praise, and praise him! When His Highness accomplishes something, say, 'You did a great job!'"

Recalling the advice from the romance guide she read with Sara, Garnet praised Lazulis. However, Lazulis turned away with a huff upon hearing her words.

"Ugh, are you done? You can go now—"

"No, it's not enough. I want to spend more time with His Highness as his fiancée."

"Huh?"

"Let's start with a walk in the garden. Your Highness, can you show me around?"

"I'm going back to my room. You can take any servant you like."

"Then let's go right away."

"Listen to me! Do you have nothing better to do!?"

--- "Spending time together deepens affection. Especially if you go to a romantic place, the mood will definitely be lifted! Near the palace, there's a beautiful garden!"

A walk in the garden would also be light exercise. It would be a two-for-one deal, deepening their affection in a romantic setting while also building stamina.

Garnet was in high spirits as she led the reluctant Lazulis out of the palace.
