Chapter 72

"Thank you for your support and affirmation, Teacher."

Lin Zai Shan bowed deeply to Li Zongheng with all his heart.

"Clap, clap, clap—"

Zhou Qinghua led the applause for Lin Zai Shan.

The audience on the scene, moved by Master Li Zongheng's charm, also clapped for Lin Zai Shan. However, many more audience members still frowned, doubting Lin Zai Shan's character and unwilling to applaud such a person.

The atmosphere on the scene was far from the enthusiasm when the audience stood up to pay tribute to Lin Zai Shan after his performance, but Park Dacheng's heart had already settled down.

It didn't matter that the applause wasn't enthusiastic now; the post-production could fix it. Even the program team could make the current applause more enthusiastic than before.

"Now it's time for you to make a choice." Zhou Qinghua introduced to Lin Zai Shan, "All four mentors have turned for you. According to the rules of the program, you can choose to join any one of our four mentors' teams. Behind us are four different record companies supporting us. I represent Nian Dai, Li Brother represents Jian Ban, Teacher Xiao Guan represents Cai Die, and Teacher Ben Xiong represents BM. After joining our team, you will not only receive guidance from the corresponding mentor but also have the opportunity to sign a record contract with the four major record companies. The four major record companies will produce and release your original songs in this competition, creating a dedicated album for you. You must choose carefully!"

"The Jian Ban team welcomes you." Li Zongheng, who was very fond of Lin Zai Shan's music, enthusiastically extended an olive branch to him: "Forget the past, let's start a new journey together. Although our hair is white, we are not old yet. We can still do something for the Chinese music industry."

Li Zongheng's words drew enthusiastic applause from the audience, and everyone felt that Lin Zai Shan would definitely join the Jian Ban team.

The master had been fighting for Jian Ban for over 30 years and was already one of the partners. He was not just a top producer. Now, the master had significant influence in Jian Ban, and his choice of Lin Zai Shan would not be opposed by many.

Although Lin Zai Shan and Jian Ban had a very unpleasant past, even going to court several times, so much time had passed, and these matters were no longer worth considering.

"The Nian Dai team also welcomes you! Choose me!"

To avoid making the program awkward, Zhou Qinghua also extended an olive branch to Lin Zai Shan. He guessed that Jian Ban was about to re-promote Lin Zai Shan, which was why Li Zongheng was so active. Therefore, even if he extended an olive branch to Lin Zai Shan, he wouldn't get the choice of this uncertain "bomb." It was just to give Master Li a face and help with the performance. Otherwise, it would be too much for Li Zongheng to perform alone with Lin Zai Shan.

"BM specializes in rock, you know. You coming to our BM team is the best choice!"

With the two senior mentors speaking, Luo Benxiong dared not remain silent. He was the one who initially praised Lin Zai Shan the most, and he couldn't give the impression of being two-faced. He also sensed that Li Zongheng was unusually supporting Lin Zai Shan, which likely meant that Jian Ban had big plans. So, he took the opportunity to advertise for BM.

With the other three major mentors speaking, Guan Yaling was at a loss, secretly glancing at He Miao.

He Miao quickly gave Guan Yaling a signal, asking her to also recruit Lin Zai Shan, which would also advertise for their Cai Die Records. Cai Die's parent company, International Entertainment, had a closer relationship with Hai Xing TV, the rival of Oriental TV. The popular variety show "Happy World" on Hai Xing TV featured Liu Yayan, the top female singer promoted by International Entertainment over the past two years.

If it weren't for giving face to Oriental TV, International Entertainment might not have sent anyone to participate in "The Strongest Singer," which was competing with "Happy World." They didn't take this program very seriously.

Oriental TV, of course, knew this, so they wouldn't treat Cai Die like the other three major record companies. He Miao could imagine that the program team would definitely use the scissors in post-production, cutting out their Cai Die Records' verbal advertisements and minimizing Cai Die's exposure.

When there was an opportunity for Guan Yaling to mention Cai Die, they couldn't miss it.

After discussing with the two major agents, He Miao understood the current situation. Lin Zai Shan would logically choose the Jian Ban team, and only Master Li Zongheng could truly help Lin Zai Shan in the future. Li Zongheng had extended the most enthusiastic olive branch, so Lin Zai Shan would definitely choose Li Zongheng. Therefore, it should be fine for Guan Yaling to advertise for Cai Die now.

With He Miao's hint, Guan Yaling smiled cautiously, still not daring to praise Lin Zai Shan excessively but focusing on the guitar: "I really like the old guitar with a story in your arms. I wonder if you've listened to the recent albums released by Cai Die Records. They all feature guitar arrangements, although the style is more light and fresh, which may not match your music. But I think we still have a lot to talk about in the guitar field. You should choose our Cai Die team."

Wen Zhiming smiled at He Miao and said, "Your Yaling is really good at advertising. Did you teach her?"

"Hehe, I learned from the seniors," He Miao was delighted, feeling that this advertisement was well done and the program team wouldn't be able to cut it out!

"With all four mentors extending enthusiastic invitations to Lin Zai Shan, which team will Lin Zai Shan choose? Let's take a commercial break and come back right after!"

Hearing the director's prompt in his ear, Zhou Qinghua skillfully left a commercial break for the program.

The audience on the scene laughed, and the atmosphere eased considerably.

Almost everyone was certain that Lin Zai Shan would definitely choose Master Li Zongheng. The result was obvious to anyone with eyes.

This was also what the program team hoped to see—having Li Zongheng support Lin Zai Shan would make it easier for Lin Zai Shan to shine in the program, and the program's quality would be even better.

Besides Lin Zai Shan himself, probably only two people on the scene could guess that Lin Zai Shan would definitely not choose Jian Ban. These two people were the ones most familiar with Lin Zai Shan: Bai Ge and Lu Chen.

They both knew that Lin Zai Shan would never choose Jian Ban!

The root cause of Lin Zai Shan's downfall was his own character and behavior, but Jian Ban's team did not provide enough support, and many tasks were not completed, which was a significant factor in the final outcome!

Lin Zai Shan's current situation was largely due to Jian Ban's negligence!

Given Jian Ban's status in the industry, if their management team had genuinely wanted to help Lin Zai Shan, he would never have fallen so far.

They watched as Lin Zai Shan willingly declined, and then they stabbed him in the back, suing him for breach of contract! Lin Zai Shan and Jian Ban had been in court for years! This was a significant factor in Lin Zai Shan's eventual breakdown and "madness"!

Lu Chen even suspected that Lin Zai Shan had been ruined by Jian Ban, leading to the subsequent events.

On his wedding day, when he was drunk, he called Lin Zai Shan, saying he wanted to destroy those blood-sucking major record companies, because he hated Jian Ban so much!

Beyond was dismantled by Jian Ban! When Lin Zai Shan had his incident, Jian Ban stood by and did nothing, which Lu Chen had never forgotten!

Lu Chen had nothing but admiration for Li Zongheng's character. Li Zongheng was one of the few Jian Ban producers who genuinely wanted to help Lin Zai Shan back then.

But unfortunately, Li Zongheng did not have much influence in Jian Ban at that time. Now that Li Zongheng has influence in Jian Ban and clearly wants to help Lin Zai Shan, Lu Chen knew that Lin Zai Shan would never have anything to do with Jian Ban again in his musical journey!

Even if Jian Ban was the only company that could save him and make his comeback smoother, Lin Zai Shan would never choose Jian Ban!

If Lin Zai Shan forgot what Jian Ban had done to him and returned to Jian Ban, Lu Chen would definitely despise him, and so would Lin Zai Shan's father in heaven!

When Lin Zai Shan was still a signed artist with Jian Ban, he once got into serious trouble and was arrested. Lin Zai Shan's father knelt down and begged Jian Ban to save Lin Zai Shan, but Jian Ban refused, thinking Lin Zai Shan had caused too much trouble for the company and decided to abandon him.

This incident devastated Lin Zai Shan's father, and his once-robust body collapsed overnight. After Lin Zai Shan was released, he "went mad" and had a huge conflict with Jian Ban!

Whenever Lu Chen thought about the past, he would shed tears, wondering that if Jian Ban had not appeared and they had signed with a small record company, Lin Zai Shan would not have been destroyed.

Even if Lin Zai Shan could not become a major star, he might have lived a happy musical life long ago.

But because of Jian Ban's sudden appearance, Lin Zai Shan ended up where he is today.

This was fate!

Lu Chen had never hated Lin Zai Shan, but he had been disappointed in him many times.

But Lu Chen had always harbored resentment towards Jian Ban's heartlessness! He knew that Lin Zai Shan hated Jian Ban even more! So, if Lin Zai Shan chose to return to Jian Ban, it would be truly bizarre!

Bai Ge also knew these things. When Lin Zai Shan was drunk, he had cursed Jian Ban more than once.

If Lin Zai Shan had explosives at hand, Jian Ban's building would have been blown up many times.

The deep-seated enmity between her father and Jian Ban was almost irreconcilable.

After his transformation, Lin Zai Shan no longer mentioned the past, but Bai Ge felt that Jian Ban was still a knot in Lin Zai Shan's heart, not easily untied.

In fact, last night, Lin Zai Shan had talked to her, saying that if Guan Yaling turned for him, he would choose Cai Die Records and join the Cai Die team. This record company was relatively small, making future negotiations easier.

He didn't want a contract with a major record company. He and Lu Chen had decided to start their own record company, so their future albums would bear the Beyond label, only negotiating with other record companies for distribution.

Among the four major record companies, International Entertainment's distribution capabilities were undoubtedly the strongest. If they could negotiate a good distribution deal with International Entertainment, it would greatly benefit Beyond's development.

So his first choice was Cai Die.

From Lin Zai Shan's words, Bai Ge understood that as long as Guan Yaling turned for him, he would definitely choose Guan Yaling.

But the problem was that Guan Yaling clearly had some resistance to Lin Zai Shan's identity.

After learning Lin Zai Shan's true identity, Guan Yaling almost didn't say a word, completely shocked. When the three mentors praised Lin Zai Shan's music, Guan Yaling didn't dare to say a word.

When it came to recruiting Lin Zai Shan, Guan Yaling spoke more, but it was all advertising for Cai Die Records. Bai Ge, who studied media, knew that it was insincere.

With Guan Yaling's attitude, would her father still choose Guan Yaling?

If not Guan Yaling, who should he choose?

The other two male mentors, besides Li Zongheng, were not genuinely fond of her father. How could she choose?

Bai Ge was in a headache.

After Zhou Qinghua left a commercial break, the live recording did not actually stop to broadcast the commercial but continued.

"Classmate Lin, have you decided which mentor's team you want to join?" Zhou Qinghua asked Lin Zai Shan.

"I have decided."

"Then please tell us your choice!"
