On the day the filming of the movie finally finished, I anonymously sent my husband the surveillance footage from the bedroom, photos of the Film Emperor and the Childhood Sweetheart, as well as the things I recorded at that time. I also learned from those horror killer characters and cut out pieces of newspapers. I then put them together to form a sentence in the picture.
—I’ve been watching you.
That time, I think he must have been very flustered because I could hear his sort of crazy, hysterical voice against the TV’s from the living room.
He seemed to be rummaging for something. I guess he was looking for the camera, but it’s too late. I thought of how he would react when I sent over the things. How could I be so stupid as to leave the camera in the room? Of course, I already cleaned up the evidence.
As I was opening a bag of chips and drinking my Sprite, my husband came out and asked me: “Was it you?”
His hair was disheveled, eyes swollen and bloodshot as if he didn’t sleep well last night. I looked at him and asked innocently: “What happened?”
I then stood up from the couch and poured him a glass of water. Brimming with concern, I asked: “Did something happen in the company? You look awful, how about going back to sleep?”
He stared blankly at me for a moment. I knew that it was unlikely for him to see any flaws in me. I continued to worriedly ask him if he was under too much pressure.
My husband shook his head. He heaved a sigh and replied: “No” He asked me further, “What do you think about the Childhood Sweetheart?”
He was testing me.
He was clearly testing me.
“Isn’t he your good friend? Then he must be a good person.” I stated with a smile, “I also want to have a good friend that I grew up and played with. Why? Did something happen to him?”
“No.” My husband was stunned as he shook his head.
He apparently thought that it was impossible for me to do it. In his eyes, I knew nothing about his affair.
I didn’t know if it was to hide his momentary blunder or if he had been guilty, but my husband told me: “I’ll put the company’s matters away for today. I… It seems like I haven’t come home for dinner for a while.”
I knew that I had deceived him.
“Then I’ll make your favorite dish tonight.” I smiled. Naturally, I won’t forget to add some of the drug in it.
I saw him nod as he walked towards the door. He turned around and grunted “En” while smiling at me.
The door closed. I picked up my Sprite and took out the Childhood Sweetheart’s schedule that I took last time.
Thinking to myself: With this, I could monitor the Childhood Sweetheart’s every move.
