Chapter 31

“….” I kept my mouth shut for a while before saying, “The childhood sweetheart got locked? He had the key to the villa…No, it’s impossible!”

I glanced at the childhood sweetheart, wiped the nonexistent tears in my eyes and choked on my sobs, “I know…I know my husband and you had an. ..improper relationship, but it shouldn’t be…”

D sighed, explaining: “No matching key was found during the investigation. Moreover,” He stared at me with bright clear eyes, as if he was interrogating me, “Your husband also didn’t have a key. So, w ho locked the door?”

“…” I didn’t answer him rather, I softly sobbed.

“Forgive my bluntness, I know that you are currently grieving, but…you should still come to our police station as soon as possible and explain the details of your husband’s whereabouts during those several days and where you were at the time of your husband’s disappearance. More information will help us solve the case and find the culprit of your husband’s murder.”

“The murderer?” I heard Editor B’s voice coming from behind me. Step by step, he came out of the shadows, footsteps light as feathers.

However, the sudden appearance of the man seemed to alert Officer D and he was suddenly on guard. He frowned and asked: “What’s the matter with you?”

Editor B smiled. He called out my name, “isn’t the real murderer the childhood sweetheart beside you? There were only two people at the scene of the crime. He was holding a knife in his hand. The cause of the husband’s death was excessive blood loss. Isn’t the culprit obvious enough?”

“But there are still many suspicious elements in the case.” Officer D argued.

“You still have a pair of handcuffs in your pocket,” B walked over to my side. He then grabbed me and put me behind his back to protect me, “If that’s the case officer, may I ask who you’ve come to arrest?”

T/N: Editor B, Editor B… do you know? May update again later. I’m trying to power through this one! Jiayou!
