Chapter 33

I decided to go to the police station. The film emperor was uneasy so he also followed after me. I saw that Officer D’s mood seemed to be relieved and he suddenly relaxed.
I don’t know why he relaxed. I have already found the ‘key’ to the door.
Prior to going to the station, I called my editor friend B to inform him of the matter. He told me that he already hired a good lawyer. Additionally, he also had checked information regarding D. Apparently, he was the adopted son of the childhood sweetheart’s family but he didn’t seem to be registered with the family.
I told him that I understood.
When I arrived at the station, I found my husband’s older brother A also sitting there. Beside him was his mother, who seemed to have been rendered stupid and kept on repeating wanting the childhood sweetheart to die to atone her son’s death.
A looked up at me. He sighed, “Did you come for the paperwork too?”
I shook my head. I saw that he clearly become quite haggard. He looked like he hadn’t even shaved his face, which wasn’t normally like him. He had been hit hard by the death.
Officer D led me into the room while the film emperor was told to wait outside the door. He pressed my hand and told me that if anything happened, I should call for help and he would immediately come in to save me. I think that the film emperor had quite an imagination, after all, this was the police station.
Inside the room was a hard wooden table with two chairs. There was also a transparent partition in the room, on which the other side hosted the childhood sweetheart. Through it, I could see he was wearing a prisoner’s uniform, both his hands and feet shackled while his face displayed restless anxiety. After seeing me, he seemed to shiver in fear.
I sat down on a chair. Officer D sat next to me. He quietly coughed, “Childhood sweetheart, you can speak.”
I saw the trust in the childhood sweetheart’s eyes as he glanced at Officer D and how it turned into hatred and fear as it fell on me. He was shaking as he spoke: “It was him…It was him who locked me and his husband inside the room. I…I had no choice but to eat…eat him…” he became increasingly frightened as he talked about it. His hands were shaking and he looked like he was going to get up and run away any second then.
Officer D looked at me and asked: “What are your thoughts?”
I stared at the officer and replied, putting an emphasis on each word, “What good can listening to a mad suspect do? I already know that he killed my husband.”
Officer D smiled, “You didn’t believe it last time?”
“…Now…I do” I lowered my head and wiped my tears as I sobbed sporadically, “Officer…are you trying to exonerate this man who killed my husband.”
“No.” Officer D stated, “Who locked the door?”
“What significance does whoever locked the door have?!” I roared pretending to cry, “My husband bled to death! He had a knife! There wasn’t another person in the room! He also…”
“He also ate my husband’s meat!” I cried, “Is he not the true culprit? For what reason do you keep investigating who locked the door?! Send that murderer to court to be sentenced to death!”
T/N: Officer D is a hidden brother…oh my…so that’s why he seemed to target MC. We’re nearing the end upupupupupu 5 chapters left!
