Chapter 35

Officer D was clearly somewhat flustered when he was removed from the case. As expected, he was still young. I kept a close watch over the decorating expert’s situation in his neighborhood and house. Just as I expected, I saw Officer D’s figure from the surveillance video several days later.

He had been running around these past days to clear the accusations against the childhood sweetheart. Truly hardworking.

He loudly asked the decorating expert for the reason he lied. The childhood sweetheart definitely didn’t have a key, but under my arrangement the decorating expert insisted that the childhood sweetheart had met with him to get a key. Officer D argued that even if the childhood sweetheart had a key, why would he lock himself in?!

The decorating expert was at a loss for words. He was stunned for quite a while before he responded, “He accidentally locked himself in and the key rusted.”

“How could that be?” Officer D spoke, “You are going to be convicted of false testimony.”

The decorating expert only glared at him, still arrogantly insisting that the childhood sweetheart had a key.

I saw Officer D approach the decorating expert in the video, “How much did he give you? I’ll match it.”

Really, he was still too young. As soon as he proposed that point, my goal was achieved. I knew that the decorating expert was unreliable. After all, as long as you use money to solve problems there will always be some loose ends.

This was only a cover.

In order to create a sort of collaboration between the childhood sweetheart and Officer D on the murder, bribing the decorating expert was a needed result.

As for why they would do this, I’ve already concocted a reason. For instance, the childhood sweetheart and Officer D were a couple. My husband and the childhood sweetheart slept together, shooting naked pictures of the childhood sweetheart to threaten him. Afterwards, he forced the childhood sweetheart to be with him but only Officer D occupied the space in the childhood sweetheart’s heart…and so on…

As for the reason why the childhood sweetheart committed murder, a kind-hearted person, who knew what had been happening, passed him a document on a transfer of inheritance with my husband’s signature on it. The contract read that when the holder died, all properties and assets under the holder’s name will go to the childhood sweetheart.

Afterwards, the film emperor would help me find the former psychologist of the childhood sweetheart to prove that he really did have pica disorder [1] .

[1] Pica is a compulsive eating disorder in which people eat nonfood items. Dirt, clay, and flaking paint are the most common items eaten. (familydoctor.org) [severe cases may cause cannibalism]

T/N: MC is really…meticulous. Note to self…don’t piss off a writer. Who knows what plans they can come up with. Also regarding pica, some definitions would say nonfood, others, non nutritious. I chose to take nonfood because we are not exactly sure what the childhood sweetheart ate. Human meat (aka organs and muscles) are technically nutritious. Most examples I’ve read about cannibalism in pica is self-cannibalism where people would eat their nails, hair etc. but those have no nutrient values. I really think cannibalism is a disorder on its own.
