Epilogue (2)

The gathering was held in a famous restaurant’s private booth. It can be seen that the organizers had spent a lot of time making the event. Afterall, this was a place where you not only need to have money to have it reserved, you would also need to wait several weeks in advance before being booked.

After Xiao Hua parked the car, they both alighted the vehicle and took the elevator to go to the private booth. There were already a few people inside. Ji Qu swept a glance in the room, inwardly counting in his heart. There were only five people. It couldn’t be helped, the number of people in the forum is quite small. It really wasn’t easy to even have five people in this city, he thought.

“Excuse me, are you ‘I know eight honors and eight shames’?” a young man came up to him and asked. Ji Qu looked at him in a dazed. He didn’t react until Xiao Hua, who was beside him, kicked him. He nodded.

The young man was beautiful. He also had a special kind of temperament which made people feel that he was gentle and easy to get close to. That’s what other people would probably call scholarly appearance. Ji Qu thought that even when the young man spoke, it felt as if he was bathing in the spring breeze.

“Ex…Excuse me…but you are?” he asked stuttering due to nervousness.

The young man revealed his name in the forum. Ji Qu was surprised. So, he was the forum moderator. Thinking that he might have acted disgraceful in front of his male god, there was some tension in his heart.

The young man seemed to sense his tension, and comforted Ji Qu. He then introduced himself, “I’m Shen Yizhou. Like in the poem ‘flowers fall as if chasing the boat. [1] ”

Ji Qu nodded and sat together with Xiao Hua.

Shen Yizhou was indeed an expert at organizing activities, after saying a few words at the table, the scene became lively. In the midst of conversations, Ji Qu found himself, intentionally or not, glancing at the man. The young man had left quite a good impression on him since the beginning which made his gaze drawn to the young man.

One time, Ji Qu caught himself right under the gaze of Shen Yizhou. The man gave Ji Qu a small smile. The small smile, in the eyes of Ji Qu, could be said to be silent communication. For a moment, he was captivated by the smile while also feeling some indescribable palpitations in his heart.

….

When the gathering was over, Ji Qu discovered that Shen Yizhou didn’t come alone.

A handsome man with deep facial features drove a luxurious car to pick up Shen Yizhou. The two of them didn’t seem to know what to say. Ji Qu saw Shen Yizhou smile towards the man and patted his head. It was a very intimate action.

Glancing at the scene, Ji Qu felt his courage and heart empty.

Xiao Hua had kicked him again, asking: “Keep walking! What are you looking at?”

Ji Qu exclaimed and said “En.”

Xiao Hua looked at the direction Ji Qu was staring at and said: “Oh, It’s the moderator!”

He patted Ji Qu on the shoulder, “I like watching him too.”

Ji Qu stared at him silently.

Xiao Hua continued, “But our moderator is truly miserable.”

“Why? You knew him before?”

Xiao Hua shook his head and took out his phone to show Ji Qu.

[1] Yizhou means chasing a boat (falling flowers, as though on purpose, flow back and forth, chasing my boat)- the poem means that although paddles are drawn backwards, the fluttering flowers still follow the boat forward. explanation: Complex feelings of young men and women seeking partners—if there’s real feelings between the two, even if there’s behavior one of them can’t understand, they’ll end up together.

They look like they’re on good terms (I mean…driving a luxury car and all could it maybe be Editor B? I’m just guessing here) At least we get a glimpse of the future, although it’s not much hehe!
