Ji Qu searched for the sanatorium— the sanatorium where Luo Yu was located. He needed to have look. This intense urge made it hard for him to sleep at night. Even if he just slightly closed his eyes for a moment, he would be woken up by the sound of babbles and voices in his dreams.

It was also followed by a burning pain in his heart that seemed to swallow him whole.

Can’t wait. I have to go immediately, Ji Qu thought.

Early that day, before the break of dawn, he left.

The sanatorium was located in the outskirts. In the mountain near it was a luxurious resort. The outer layer was surrounded by white walls. At first glance, it looked like a vicious beast perching in the grass looking like it was going to pounce at someone at any time.

Ji Qu openly went in the sanatorium’s doors. He passed by a yellow lawn with several clumps of dogtail grass swaying gently in the wind. The rustle of the bleak wind blowing seemed to echo in ridicule.

Currently, no one was in the lawn.

The main building of the sanatorium was painted white. It looked like it was too early. It was too quiet and there was practically no one around. Ji Qu, in accordance to the address he searched for—he searched for, better than saying he found it by asking questions in the form— found a room at a corner on the second floor.

Going in after opening the door, he saw the almost monotone white walls and ceilings of the room. The only thing not white was the fan and the small window. The décor felt extremely depressing like a boulder weighing on a person’s head making them suffer by being unable to breathe.

This was a two-person ward, Ji Qu observed. There were two beds, one was empty and the other laid a man who resembled a skeleton.

He looked as if he had long-term malnutrition. His face was sunken but his eyes protruded which made for a terrible sight. At first glance, he looked like a goldfish. His exposed arms were covered in all sorts of needle scars and he was nearly just skin and bones.

Ji Qu realized that he was probably Luo Yu. And although he didn’t have that sort of coquettish face like in the picture, his intuition told him that was Luo Yu.

"

"

When he saw Ji Qu, he began to mournfully wail. His shrill cry was like the sound of a slaughtered rooster, hoarse and unpleasant to hear.

“ ….You’re here too?”

A voice with traces of a smile faintly fluttered through behind Ji Qu.
