Jiang Fan's tense heart immediately relaxed. "The bureau chief asked me to see him?" Jiang Fan asked in confusion. He was just an intern at the East Sea People's Hospital. Although he had cured the high fever of the mayor's grandson yesterday, it couldn't have spread so quickly, could it?

"Oh, Xiao Jiang, it's like this. The father of the little boy you treated yesterday is Bureau Chief Gao Ting," Dean Zhao explained.

Jiang Fan immediately understood. He got into the police car with the two officers and drove through several flat asphalt roads. Finally, the police car stopped in a residential area.

After getting out of the car, Jiang Fan followed the two officers to the third floor. They rang the doorbell, and the door opened. The little boy and his mother appeared in front of Jiang Fan.

"Doctor Jiang, please come in!" the boy's mother said.

The house was spacious. In the living room, there was a rectangular table. Beside the table sat a middle-aged man, who was fat, with a straight nose, a square mouth, large earlobes, thick eyebrows, and bright eyes. His slightly plump face had no beard.

"Doctor Jiang, please sit down! This is my husband, Gao Ting. I'm Liu Fengyi. I'm a bit older than you, so just call me Fengjie," the boy's mother said.

"Is there something you need from me?" Jiang Fan asked, looking at the man after sitting down.

"Yes, thank you for saving my son. Your medical skills are truly remarkable. My son had a high fever that even Doctor Li Hanxuan couldn't cure, but you didn't give him any injections or medicine. You just used your fingers to draw a few lines, and the fever went down. You're truly a miraculous doctor!" Bureau Chief Gao praised.

Liu Fengyi brought a cup of tea and placed it on the table. "Doctor Jiang, please have some tea!"

"Thank you!"

"Xiao Zhang, Xiao Li, there's nothing for you to do here. Go back to the bureau," Bureau Chief Gao instructed.

The two police officers immediately left and returned to the bureau.

Liu Fengyi then brought a large plate of fruit and placed it on the table. "Please have some fruit!"

"Thank you!"

Jiang Fan picked up an orange without hesitation, peeled it, and smiled at Bureau Chief Gao. "Bureau Chief Gao, what did you ask me here for today?"

Bureau Chief Gao smiled. "Doctor Jiang, I invited you here today to thank you for saving my son. Also, there's something else..." Bureau Chief Gao seemed to have some difficulty speaking, looking embarrassed.

Seeing the man stammering, Liu Fengyi, slightly embarrassed, said to Jiang Fan, "He's too embarrassed to speak, so I'll say it. He has a strange illness. Whenever he tries, he becomes weak, and that thing gets smaller and smaller. This illness has been going on for half a year. He's seen many famous doctors and taken a lot of medicine, but nothing has worked. There's been no improvement at all!"

Liu Fengyi was about 28 years old, tall, with thick eyebrows, large eyes, and two small dimples on her oval face. Her skin was fair, and she looked like a beautiful young woman.

For a man to be unable to satisfy such a beautiful wife was a painful thing! This was evident from Bureau Chief Gao's expression.

Jiang Fan was very clear that Bureau Chief Gao's wife was a very passionate woman. His already plump body couldn't satisfy her, and now he couldn't satisfy her at all. This was undoubtedly the most embarrassing and shameful thing for a man!

Bureau Chief Gao lowered his head, his plump face turning red with embarrassment as he awkwardly touched the corner of the table.

In fact, when Jiang Fan entered the room and saw Bureau Chief Gao, he could tell that he had this problem. His nose had visible blue veins, and he had no beard, indicating yang deficiency. Additionally, his voice was high and fine, like that of a eunuch, indicating yin excess and yang deficiency.

"Can I see that thing, Bureau Chief Gao?" Jiang Fan asked.

"Um, um," Bureau Chief Gao hesitated, feeling uncomfortable about taking off his pants in front of a man.

"Quick, take it off!" Liu Fengyi urged.

"Go to the bathroom to take it off. Just pretend you're using the toilet!" Jiang Fan suggested, considering Bureau Chief Gao's embarrassment.

In the bathroom, Bureau Chief Gao took off his pants. Jiang Fan almost fainted when he saw it. "Damn! It's so small, only the size of a fingernail, even smaller than a child's!"

"Damn! Being a man is tough! How can it shrink like that! Bureau Chief Gao, you're really unlucky!"

Bureau Chief Gao's face turned bright red. He couldn't even look at it himself. At 1.8 meters tall, he was a big man, but that thing was smaller than a child's!

"It used to be much bigger. It's been shrinking since I got this strange illness," Bureau Chief Gao said.

"How big was it originally?" Jiang Fan asked.

"This big," Bureau Chief Gao gestured with his hand. Jiang Fan saw that Bureau Chief Gao extended his thumb. "Damn! Only the size of a thumb, and you call that big! If you saw mine, you'd probably hang yourself!"

Jiang Fan and Bureau Chief Gao came out of the bathroom. "Doctor Jiang, can this illness be cured?" Liu Fengyi asked anxiously.

"It can be cured, but I need to understand the cause of the illness," Jiang Fan said.

"Ask any questions you have!"

"Bureau Chief Gao, did you offend anyone before you got this illness?" Jiang Fan asked.

"Offend anyone?" Bureau Chief Gao patted his head and paced back and forth in the hall.

Suddenly, Bureau Chief Gao stopped pacing. "Half a year ago, we caught an Eastern Wu person who caused trouble and injured a hotel employee. A skinny old Eastern Wu man came to bail him out, but I refused. He used a fluent local dialect to say, 'You'll regret it!'"

"Did you have any contact with him?" Jiang Fan asked.

"When the old Eastern Wu man left, he walked past me. I felt a chill, but I didn't think much of it," Bureau Chief Gao said.

Jiang Fan thought for a moment. "Bureau Chief Gao, you were tricked by that Eastern Wu man. He cast a yin curse on you."

"A yin curse?" Bureau Chief Gao asked in confusion.

"A yin curse is one of the most insidious forbidden spells in the world of talismans. When it is cast, the victim often doesn't realize it, and they may get a strange illness or die mysteriously! I didn't expect such a vicious forbidden spell to be used by an Eastern Wu person!" Jiang Fan said in surprise.

"Will my husband be in danger?" Liu Fengyi asked anxiously.

"No, but this strange illness will make him suffer for life, which is even more vicious than death!"

"There's something I don't understand. I know a bit about talismans. Aren't they just drawn with a brush, yellow paper, and cinnabar? I didn't see that old Eastern Wu man draw a talisman on me. How could I have been cursed?" Bureau Chief Gao asked in confusion.

"Talismans originated in the time of the Yellow Emperor. They are used to treat illnesses or to ward off evil and protect oneself. The most primitive talismans were drawn with fingers. Later, as times changed, talismans evolved to be drawn with a brush, yellow paper, and cinnabar. This evolution made talismans more like showy techniques, losing their original effectiveness."

"The most primitive talismans, however, were not widely promoted and were only passed down among a few people. The Mount Mao talisman is one of them. In today's society, such talismans are even harder to find!"
