Chapter 3

239: Anonymous Fairy

Hey, did you see today's thing?

240: Anonymous Fairy

I don't know what you're talking about.

241: Anonymous Fairy

I saw it! It was the live stream where the old man from the countryside took down several Flame Dragons, right?

242: Anonymous Fairy

I saw it too. That was insane.

243: Anonymous Fairy

What... What's this feeling of being left behind?

244: Anonymous Fairy

That live stream just looked like an ordinary old farmer...

245: Anonymous Fairy

You're kidding. There's no way an ordinary farmer can take down Flame Dragons alone.

246: Anonymous Fairy

>>245

Totally agree. No ordinary person can do that. He must be a retired swordsman or something. Still, he's way too strong.

247: Anonymous Fairy

Maybe we've found an amazing streamer?

248: Anonymous Fairy

Hehe. I've been a listener of his for a while now.

249: Anonymous Fairy

Nice, showing off your seniority.

250: Anonymous Fairy

Muuu—

251: Anonymous Fairy

>>250

Cute. Marry me.

252: Anonymous Fairy

I heard that old man streams every day.

253: Anonymous Fairy

I found him. Wow, his videos don't have many viewers.

254: Anonymous Fairy

From what I saw, most of his other videos are about mundane farming.

255: Anonymous Fairy

If he wants to aim for the top in the current streaming industry, that's tough, w.

256: Anonymous Fairy

Maybe he's just doing it as a hobby?

257: Anonymous Fairy

It doesn't look like he can monetize yet, w.

258: Anonymous Fairy

>>257

What's monetization again?

259: Anonymous Fairy

>>258

It's something the FairyTube admins recently started. The Special Chat feature.

260: Anonymous Fairy

>>259

Oh, that. It lets us give money to the streamers, right?

261: Anonymous Fairy

>>260

Exactly. Only streamers with a certain level of performance and consistency can do it, so the old man probably can't yet.

262: Anonymous Fairy

The admins, creating another confusing service, w. There's no way people will start giving money to others, w.

263: Anonymous Fairy

>>262

I just sent a Special Chat to the songstress Melbis. She called out my name and thanked me. I was really moved.

264: Anonymous Fairy

>>263

I take back what I said about it not catching on. Please teach me how to do it.

265: Anonymous Fairy

Lol.

266: Anonymous Fairy

Guys, you're getting off topic. We're talking about that old farmer.

267: Anonymous Fairy

This old man took down Flame Dragons alone, right? How many people in this world can do that?

268: Anonymous Fairy

Agreed. He's likely to get a lot of attention from this.

269: Anonymous Fairy

He's already getting attention. Five-digit concurrent viewers is insane.

270: Anonymous Fairy

But, only hardcore video otaku are watching. It's hard to say what will happen if this continues...

271: Anonymous Fairy

Did the old man realize it?

272: Anonymous Fairy

>>271

No, he didn't. He cut the stream in a hurry, so he didn't realize it at that time.

273: Anonymous Fairy

The old man's stream is at the top of the farming genre, w.

274: Anonymous Fairy

I thought the farming genre was something retired old men did.

275: Anonymous Fairy

That genre is so niche. He might easily be the all-time number one in that category.

276: Anonymous Fairy

Ordinary farming streamers don't take down Flame Dragons, w.

277: Anonymous Fairy

If the old man keeps growing at this rate, he might hit six-digit concurrent viewers?

278: Anonymous Fairy

Six-digit concurrent viewers is on the level of the songstress Melbis, w.

279: Anonymous Fairy

An old man from the countryside being on par with Melbis is hilarious, w.

280: Anonymous Fairy

>>279

Stop making it funnier, regularly.

281: Anonymous Fairy

Well, at this rate, he'll probably hit five-digit concurrent viewers again tomorrow...

282: Anonymous Fairy

I'm so jealous (crying). I stream every day and only get two-digit concurrent viewers!

283: Anonymous Fairy

>>282

Why don't you do a nuisance stream like "The Great Serpent of the Scorching Sky"?

284: Anonymous Fairy

That kind of thing might become a problem eventually.

285: Anonymous Fairy

I heard they've been increasing their nuisance streams recently. I don't really like that approach.

286: Anonymous Fairy

The old man's stream is happening again tomorrow. Should I go watch?

287: Anonymous Fairy

Legends are born this way—

288: Anonymous Fairy

That's a bit exaggerated, w.

289: Anonymous Fairy

Not really. That old man's skills are real.

290: Anonymous Fairy

Yes, yes. Goushi will become a legend!

291: Anonymous Fairy

Well, I'll go watch.

292: Anonymous Fairy

Me too.

293: Anonymous Fairy

I'll watch too, w!

294: Anonymous Fairy

Let's all go watch and surprise him, w.

295: Anonymous Fairy

We have to ride this big wave.

296: Anonymous Fairy

That's old school. But yeah, I'll go watch too.

---

While Goushi was enjoying a peaceful sleep at home, such discussions were taking place on the FairyTube bulletin board.

And the next day—

Goushi, who was just an ordinary farmer in the countryside, finally found himself in the spotlight.
