Chapter 3

My vision, which had turned completely white, gradually returned to normal.
I thought I had returned to my original home, but what came into view was an endless expanse of grassland, and I stood there, stunned, all alone.
“Hey… seriously… being sent back doesn’t mean returning to the original world, does it…”
There was no way this could be the original world.
Looking up at the sky, I saw a small sun shining next to a large one. With two suns, it was clear that this wasn’t Earth.
When I touched my bangs, they were still silver, and my clothing was still a robe.
I was exactly the same as my game character.
In the midst of the knee-high grass, I found a suitable rock, sat down, and pondered my future, my head in my hands. Even though I had become younger, being thrown into a world I knew nothing about and suddenly told to survive alone was nothing but confusion.
“How am I supposed to live… before that, my job… there’s no way I’m not missing… me…”
My parents had already passed away, and I lived alone, so I had no family.
“If it’s like the game, maybe I can use storage…”
As I tried to cast “Dimensional Storage,” a window appeared in my mind.
“Whoa! That surprised me!”
Despite the shock, I focused on the screen, where the weapons, tools, and in-game currency I had used as a warehouse character were displayed.
“This is…”
When I focused on the bread shown on the screen, a loaf of bread instantly appeared in my hand, and the number on the screen changed from “99” to “98.”
I brought the warm, freshly baked bread to my mouth.
“—Delicious”
My uncontrollable hunger, which had been triggered by not having a proper breakfast, led me to take several loaves of bread from the storage and eat them.
After eating about five loaves, my hunger was satisfied, and I was able to calm down.
“Well, I’m full now, but what should I do next… Can I use the game currency here?”
When I tried to summon the game currency, several gold, silver, and copper coins appeared in my hands. Even though it was a sub-character of a different account, I had transferred a moderate amount from my main character. I wasn’t sure if 20 million G was a lot or a little, and I still didn’t know if it could be used in this world.
“There’s no point in thinking about it. Is there a town nearby…? First, I need to check the contents of the storage… and what I can do…”
Sitting on a suitable rock, I began to check the contents of the dimensional storage. I confirmed the low-level weapons I had used as a warrior, the staff and robe I had used as a priest, and various other tools.
“Alright, I’ve checked. Next—can I reach a town…? I don’t know if I can use magic, so I should at least have a weapon…”
From the storage, I took out a buster sword I had used when I was a low-level warrior. It was made of black iron, which was far more powerful than ordinary iron weapons.
“Nostalgic… I used this in the beginning…”
Feeling the realistic touch, different from the game’s graphics, I swung the sword with one hand. Although it didn’t fit a priest, my original class was a berserker. Perhaps influenced by being summoned to this world, I could swing the sword without any wobble.
“Next… clothes…”
I tried on several robes, but they all looked like something a middle-schooler with a delusion of grandeur would wear. I chose a relatively plain white robe made from monster materials and changed into it, looking at my appearance.
“This should be bearable… it’s light and good. Alright, let’s try to find a town or village.”
Searching the storage for a means of transportation, I found a horse icon.
I had used a horse up to level 100, and then changed to a mole for a mount through an item purchase, transferring the horse to my sub-character.
“Horse… is this really like the game…? Let’s see…”
As I tried to summon the horse icon, a magnificent black horse appeared in front of me.
It was not just magnificent but overwhelmingly large…
“Neigh, nicker…”
And for some reason, the horse started to gently bite my head.
—That’s not something that should happen right away… And you… you’re not a normal horse size, are you?
I had seen thoroughbreds at the racetrack, but this horse was tall, muscular, and had impressive legs.
Wiping my head with the hem of my robe, I stroked the horse’s neck, and it seemed to enjoy it, rubbing against me.
“Okay, good, good. Can you take me? I want to go to a town or somewhere with people.”
It seemed the horse understood me, as it bent its legs to make it easier for me to mount.
Once on its back, I grabbed the mane and spoke to the horse.
“Let’s go, then.”
At my words, the horse started running.
The speed was unbelievable for a horse.
“Hey! Too fast! Slow down a bit!”
The horse seemed to understand my words and slowed down.
After about thirty minutes of riding, I could see a road. There was no one around, but I hoped that going in either direction would lead to a town.
“I’ve reached the road. If I go in either direction, there should be a town. I need to find out where I am as soon as possible…”
Riding the horse at a comfortable speed, I continued down the road.
“This feels good…”
As I continued down the road, I climbed a small hill, and there—
I saw a carriage and people being attacked by a group of monsters.
