Chapter 2

The screen displays a message window and what appears to be a map of the surrounding sea. From this, it seems that there is only an isolated island in the vicinity.

The map shows a ship-shaped icon in red.

There are four in total.

Inside the screen, Nanami pushed the window to the side and peeked out.

"Something is approaching."

"What do you mean, something!?"

"It's an unidentified fleet."

No good, no new information.

As I was perplexed, Nanami straightened her back, clearly flustered.

"The four unidentified vessels approaching are all believed to be armed ships."

"Are they enemies!?"

"They are unidentified."

Ah, come on.

Nanami tilted her head.

"That fleet has passed offshore eight times in the past two weeks. They did not respond to our radio communications."

"Did they attack when they passed by?"

"They were using optical camouflage."

I thought for a moment.

"Then why are they approaching us now?"

"Perhaps because they have not deactivated their optical camouflage..."

That's not it.

"This ship is a transport, right? Does it have weapons?"

"No, not yet. They aren't necessarily enemies."

Ah, whatever.

Nanami tilted her head.
