Over there, Mo Yongxin saw Qin Yu and seemed to have said something to the old man. The old man laughed heartily, glanced at Qin Yu, then parted ways with Mo Yongxin and walked to the other side of the table.
"Mr. Qin, it's been two days, and your complexion looks much better." Mo Yongxin parted ways with the old man, walked straight to Qin Yu's side, and extended her tender, delicate hand.
"I must thank Miss Mo for the ginseng you sent. Otherwise, I wouldn't have recovered so quickly." Qin Yu held Mo Yongxin's fine, boneless hand, and the scene in the Tongbo Mountain cave flashed through his mind, causing his heart to race. It was those very hands that had touched his chest, giving him shivers.
"When did you eat the ginseng? Wasn't it still unopened in the hotel room?" Zhang Hua muttered on the side. He had seen the box of ginseng in his cousin's room that morning, still unopened. His cousin was really good at lying without changing his expression.
"Mr. Qin, you're too polite." Mo Yongxin smiled after hearing Qin Yu's words, but the smile quickly faded, and she withdrew her hand.
"If she could always smile like that, Miss Mo would bewitch countless men."
Qin Yu had to admit that Mo Yongxin's beauty was no less than Meng Yao's. The latter was like a fairy next door, while the former was a goddess high above. Two completely different styles of beauty, each with its own charm.
"Why did you bring it along?" Mo Yongxing saw Zhang Hua holding a long box and knew it must be Zhuiying. He asked Qin Yu in surprise.
"Is this Zhuiying inside?"
Mo Yongxin heard her brother's words and glanced at the box in Zhang Hua's hand. A few days ago, her brother had told her about Qin Yu's sword that could fly on its own and understand human speech, named Zhuiying.
"Um." Qin Yu nodded but didn't answer Mo Yongxing's question. There were too many people in the exchange meeting, and with Mo Yongxin around, many people were paying attention to their conversation.
"Master Xiao has arrived."
"Master Xiao, it's been a long time."
"Years have passed, and Master Xiao looks even more distinguished. I imagine your cultivation has advanced further."
People in the venue were originally gathered in small groups, whispering to each other. Suddenly, there was a commotion at the entrance, and an elderly man in his sixties walked in, accompanied by Ji Quan. Those who were sitting down stood up, and those who recognized him greeted him.
"Who is this guy, so impressive." Mo Yongxing muttered at the sight of the old man causing such a stir.
Unfortunately, no one could answer him. Apart from Qin Yu, neither he nor his sister and Zhang Hua were in the feng shui industry. As for Qin Yu, he could count the feng shui masters he knew on one hand.
"Where is Qiu Sheng? How can the president leave so many colleagues here and go to cool off himself?" The old man scanned the room, nodded to many people, and then turned to Ji Quan, his voice loud and clear.
"President Lin went to pick up some colleagues from other cities. He should be back soon," Ji Quan replied.
After hearing Ji Quan's answer, the old man didn't say anything more but pursed his lips, seemingly disapproving, and then sat down on the right side of the front of the oval table.
"Mr. Qin, this is your seat, right? We'll go over there first, so we won't disturb you." Mo Yongxin glanced at the nameplate on the table and said to Qin Yu.
"Go over there? Aren't you sitting here?" Qin Yu was puzzled.
"These seats are for the members of the Feng Shui Association to exchange ideas. We are guests and won't sit here. The seats on the sides are for us."
Mo Yongxin pointed to the rows of tiered seats around the room. It was like a stadium, with Qin Yu and the others as the athletes and Mo Yongxin and the other invited guests as the audience, naturally watching from the stands.
"Xiao Yu, I'll go sit with Miss Mo and the others in the guest seats."
Hearing Mo Yongxin's explanation, Zhang Hua thought that since the round table was for the Feng Shui Association members, and each seat had a nameplate, there was definitely no place for him.
Qin Yu nodded. The guest seats had many more seats than the round table, and only about a dozen people were sitting there. The old man who had walked in with Mo Yongxin earlier was now sitting in the guest seats.
Just as Mo Yongxin and her brother and cousin Zhang Hua went to the guest seats, two more people entered the venue. Qin Yu recognized them.
The two people who entered, one of them was Li Weijun. Given Li Weijun's relationship with Meng Feng, it was natural that he would be with the man next to him.
"I didn't expect to run into him here."
Qin Yu shook his head. The man next to Li Weijun was Meng Yao's brother, Meng Fang. However, Li Weijun didn't see Qin Yu, as his seat was in a corner, making it hard to notice him.
"Mr. Li!"
Qin Yu didn't want to greet Meng Fang, but his cousin, who was sitting in the guest seats, saw Li Weijun and stood up to call out.
"Hey, Master Qin is here too!" Li Weijun heard Zhang Hua's voice, walked over, and greeted Qin Yu.
"Mr. Li, a busy man like you has time to attend this exchange meeting."
"Why are you here?"
Just as Li Weijun was about to introduce Meng Fang to Qin Yu, Meng Fang spoke up, his tone slightly accusatory, almost the same as his father's.
"I'm here to attend the exchange meeting, of course." Qin Yu was annoyed. This father and son seemed to like interrogating him, living up to their reputation.
"You're attending the exchange meeting?"
Meng Fang's eyes carefully examined Qin Yu, and Li Weijun, hearing their conversation, looked puzzled and asked, "Do you two know each other? That's good, then I don't need to introduce you."
"Yes, we've met before, but not very well. Uncle Li, could you introduce us again?" Meng Fang suddenly spoke, confused about how Qin Yu knew Uncle Li. According to his investigation, Qin Yu had no acquaintances in Guangdong, let alone someone like Uncle Li, a big boss.
Li Weijun laughed and said, "Master Qin is a great feng shui master. He visited your home a few days ago and met Secretary Meng."
"What?" Meng Fang's eyes widened in disbelief as he asked Qin Yu, "Qin Yu, you've been to my house?"
"Yes, I met your father." Qin Yu nodded. Since Li Weijun had said it, there was no need to hide it. Besides, their agreement didn't say he couldn't meet Meng Yao's family.
"Does my father know about you and Yao Yao? What did he say?"
"I think your father might have guessed something." Qin Yu answered honestly.
"That's impossible. If my father knew about this..."
"What's impossible? Fang, you know Qin Yu?" Mo Yongxing interrupted, walking over as Meng Fang looked shocked and incredulous.
"Yongxing, why are you here? You know Qin Yu too?"
Meng Fang's gaze toward Qin Yu changed. When he investigated Qin Yu, he was just an ordinary student. How could he have become a feng shui master in just a few months and have connections with Uncle Li and the Mo family?
Knowing Uncle Li wasn't the most surprising part. As a businessman, Uncle Li had a wide circle of friends, and it was possible he knew Qin Yu's relatives. The key was the Mo family, a powerful clan that rivaled the Meng family in some areas. Qin Yu had managed to befriend Mo Yongxing, the direct heir of the Mo family, which was the most shocking to Meng Fang.
People from their kind of powerful families naturally had a group of friends, but those were just drinking buddies, using each other. However, Meng Fang could tell from Mo Yongxing's attitude that his relationship with Qin Yu was more than just a drinking buddy; it was a genuine friendship.
"Fang, since you're here, sit with us. My sister is there too."
Mo Yongxing didn't care about Meng Fang's shock, pointed to the guest seats, and Meng Fang followed his gaze to see a cold, beautiful woman sitting there, Mo Yongxin, the eldest daughter of the Mo family. She nodded slightly at Meng Fang, acknowledging him.
Meng Fang wasn't offended by Mo Yongxin's cold attitude. Everyone in their circle knew her personality, and a nod was already a good sign.
"Come on, Fang, I haven't seen you in a long time. Let's go up and chat." Mo Yongxing grabbed Meng Fang, not giving him a chance to refuse, and walked toward the guest seats.
"Don't pull, ouch, I can walk myself." Meng Fang glanced at Qin Yu, his mind full of questions. How did a regular college student suddenly become a feng shui master? With Mo Yongxing pulling him away, Meng Fang could only hide his doubts for now and plan to ask Qin Yu after the exchange meeting.
