The next day.
Stewart and his two brothers, along with Leonardo, managed to arrive just in time for the evening party held at the castle.
Among the several grand halls used for the castle's evening parties, they were led to the largest and most luxurious one tonight. Most of the invited guests had already gathered, and it didn't seem like any more would arrive after the Stewarts.
"Miss Emmaaaaaa!"
Turning to the direction of the call, she saw her friends from the embroidery class coming towards her at a speed that was just shy of being indecent.
"Oh, your dresses suit you so well!"
Francesca was wearing a pink lace dress that wasn't too sweet. Marion was in a black one-shoulder dress with floral decorations on her shoulder. The twins were in a rare marine-striped off-shoulder dress, alternating between light blue and white fabric.
"For a moment, I thought it wouldn't work out. Thank you so much, Miss Emma!"
Francesca placed her hand on her chest and thanked Emma, and Marion and the twins followed suit.
"It's an honor to be of service."
Emma smiled and returned their gratitude.
"But, is it really okay for someone like me to wear such a feminine dress?"
The soft pink lace made Francesca feel a bit uncomfortable, as it was her first time wearing it.
"You look very beautiful, Miss Francesca. It suits a lady perfectly."
William, who had been trained by Emma, offered sweet words to Francesca. Even though he was only ten, his compliments made Francesca blush with joy.
"Well, I never thought I'd wear a one-shoulder dress. I hesitated to wear it, even though it was delivered to me. I even considered wearing my knight's uniform, but my parents, brother, and servants all advised me to wear the dress."
Marion, blushing, held her exposed shoulder and asked if it looked strange.
"Miss Marion, you have a great figure and height, so you wear it perfectly! The hair accessory also suits you very well and makes you look beautiful."
Georg, inheriting his father's charm, offered sweet words to Marion. Standing next to the tall Georg, Marion made a beautiful picture. If they danced together, they would surely be the center of attention. Unfortunately, Georg never danced.
Marion smiled and thanked him, but her gestures seemed more feminine due to the dress.
"I really like this striped pattern, don't you, Caitlin?"
"I really like this striped pattern, don't you, Catherine?"
The twins seemed to enjoy their matching dresses.
"Miss Emma, you really saved us. My dress was ready, but Caitlin's wasn't. But I couldn't wear a dress that didn't match, could I, Caitlin?"
"Miss Emma, you really saved us. I couldn't wear a dress that didn't match, could I, Catherine?"
The twins' dresses were identical in design, with the only difference being the order of the light blue and white stripes. The light marine pattern complemented their brown skin well.
"Both Miss Catherine and Miss Caitlin look incredibly cute! I knew the marine pattern would suit you both!"
Emma nodded several times, admiring the dressed-up appearance of her favorite silver-haired, brown-skinned twins. "I'm sure this pattern will become a trend!" the twins chimed in.
This morning, Joshua, who visited the Stewart household, mentioned that many young ladies would not have their dresses ready for tonight's party. If Emma's friends from the embroidery class were in trouble, she thought it would be better to have a dress than none at all, so she asked Joshua's trading company to deliver the dresses her family had made.
At the beginning of the week, Leonardo, who was feeling lonely without Mersa, had been sewing the remaining three dresses while the three brothers were at school. Emma and her friends, who couldn't secure playmates after school, naturally finished their dresses early.
"Miss Emma's dress is as beautiful as always."
Francesca sighed, admiring Emma's dress. The hem of the pure white dress was embroidered with a light green color, matching Emma's eyes, making it more demure than usual.
The exquisite embroidery was impressive, but the beautiful white of the dress was equally captivating. Worn by the delicate and fair-skinned Emma, it gave an ethereal and transparent look, almost otherworldly, with a sacred aura.
"Thank you, Miss Francesca."
Emma thanked Francesca, but her smile was slightly strained. ...It was a rather complicated feeling. The dress she was wearing today was a last-minute creation due to a cat sitting on her lap, preventing her from moving.
She had used almost all the ink she bought from Harold, and the Stewart household had no ink in stock. The only option was to soak the botanical-patterned dress she wore at the previous party in the remaining white ink to turn it white. Of course, the three brothers and Leonardo couldn't move because of the cat, so they had to give instructions to Martha and the servants in a low voice to avoid disturbing the cat.
Fortunately, it was a sunny day, but if it had been rainy, she might have had to wear a damp dress. Thank you, God, for the clear sky.
As she put on the unexpectedly white dress, she and Martha discussed whether it could pass. Meanwhile, Leonardo started to tremble for some reason.
"...? Father?"
When she looked at her father's face, Leonardo grabbed her shoulder and shouted.
"No way! This dress looks like a wedding dress!"
"!!?"
Indeed, the white dress did resemble a wedding dress. But there was nothing she could do about it.
"Miss Emma!! Why don't you just marry me...!!"
Leonardo's shout made Joshua, who was in another room, run over. The moment he saw Emma, he slid across the floor to her, and in a smooth motion, knelt down to propose... but was abruptly thrown out of the room by Leonardo, who grabbed him by the collar.
"Ouch!"
The sound of Joshua hitting the floor with his buttocks was muffled by the loud slam of the door. The demonic expression on Leonardo's face in that instant was something Joshua would never forget.
Reassuring Georg and William that he was fine, Joshua patted his sore buttocks and muttered under his breath.
"But, I won't give up..."
Leonardo, who had effortlessly grabbed and thrown someone, pleaded with a voice that made Emma and Martha wonder if he was even human.
"Emma, if you wear this dress, Joshua and others like him will swarm around you! At least, at least, add some embroidery!"
"Father, Joshua was just joking. You shouldn't have thrown him like that."
"Sir, I'm sorry, but there's no time to take off the dress, add embroidery, and put it back on. We need to leave now to be on time."
Martha, without a hint of regret, shook her head at Leonardo. Being late to a royal party was unacceptable, and time was already running out.
"It's fine! I can get ready in 40 seconds!!"
Emma, surprised to hear such a line from her father, sat down as Leonardo, true to his word, completed the embroidery in 40 seconds...
Finally, I managed to get my friends into their dresses...
