Taking a deep breath, Gao Yang slowly pressed the answer button. After the call connected, neither side spoke for a moment. Then a light laugh came from the phone, "Hehe, Mr. Gao, you really have a high tolerance."
"Who are you?" Gao Yang asked calmly.
"Mr. Gao, we met at Alice Bar. You've already forgotten me so soon?" The relaxed tone was like that of two good friends chatting. But Gao Yang knew who it was—the rich and handsome guy who wanted to break his leg!
"Say what you have to say," Gao Yang said, trying to suppress his anger. At the same time, he said to Origin in his mind, "Track the location of this phone number, quickly!"
"Did you see the photos?"
"Uh-huh."
"......I, Zhao Chunsheng, have been living for almost thirty years, and I've never met someone as bizarre as you." The voice on the phone carried a hint of unmasked anger.
"Sorry, I lost my composure just now. The two women are now at the Banyan Tree Resort in Phuket. If you don't come within 24 hours, I'll send you another photo. Of course, you might not want to see the next one. Well, I'll wait for you. Goodbye." With that, the call was hung up.
"Found it, the phone signal is at the Banyan Tree Resort in Phuket," Origin's voice said. Gao Yang sat quietly on the bed, looking at his phone without saying a word. After a while, he murmured, "I thought you would be happy, but it seems your judgment is really poor."
"Origin, find out the detailed situation of Zhao Chunsheng's family, and make two more protective shield rings." Gao Yang got up, changed his clothes, and went to his parents' room. "Mom, Dad, I have something important to take care of. You two fly to the villa in Bern tomorrow and wait for me. I'll be there soon."
"What happened?" His parents, sensing something was amiss, asked sharply. "Nothing serious, just some old business to settle. Don't worry, nothing in this world can stop me if I set my mind to it," Gao Yang said earnestly.
He handed the two protective shield rings to his parents, instructing them not to take them off. Before leaving, he told the bodyguards to protect his parents and return to Bern.
He booked a Singapore Airlines flight to Phuket at 12:10 AM and drove to the airport. He left his car in the parking lot and hurried through security to the waiting area. The process was smooth with his Swiss passport. Once on the plane, Gao Yang began to quietly reflect on the entire situation.
"It must have been those thugs who told Zhao Chunsheng I disappeared. But why would he believe such a ridiculous story? This foolish woman, deceived by a playboy, didn't even think about why a rich guy would be interested in her."
Gao Yang was angry, but he also felt a sense of regret for his ex-girlfriend. "You make your own path." He smiled helplessly at the flight attendant who brought him an eye mask. Li Yuan was clearly dragged into this because of him; he felt guilty.
The ten hours passed quickly. Woken by the flight attendant, Gao Yang checked the time—it was already past 9 AM, and the plane was about to land at Phuket Airport.
After leaving the airport, Gao Yang didn't rush to the Banyan Tree Resort. He took a taxi to a five-star hotel, checked into a suite, freshened up, and had a hearty breakfast. He then called his parents to confirm they had arrived at the airport and were about to leave. Only then did he leave the hotel and find a rickshaw to the Banyan Tree Resort.
On the way, Gao Yang was very quiet, feeling neither anger, sorrow, nor joy. He had originally planned to let the rich and handsome guy off the hook, considering his ex-girlfriend's happiness and the nearly ten years they had been together. He even got Origin as a result of the incident. But he never expected it to turn out this way.
Why wasn't he happy? He had a chance to win back his ex-girlfriend, so why wasn't he happy? Had he already moved on in his heart?
Before long, the rickshaw arrived near the Banyan Tree Resort. Gao Yang sent a text message to Zhao Chunsheng and then sat quietly on a chair by the roadside.
Soon, the secretary he had beaten up a few months ago at Alice Bar approached him. "Mr. Gao, please follow me."
They walked through the picturesque villa complex and entered a beautifully decorated seaside villa. "There are 22 armed personnel within a 300-meter radius of the villa," Origin said. Gao Yang smiled but said nothing, touching his ring and walking into the villa with his head held high.
In the living room, an elegant man stood up from the sofa as Gao Yang entered. His refined attire and graceful demeanor, combined with his rimless glasses, exuded a gentlemanly aura.
"Mr. Gao, it's a pleasure to meet you," he said in a soothing tone, which was very appealing to women.
Gao Yang ignored him and looked at another tall, handsome man standing nearby. He had seen him before when he bought rings for his parents; he was the handsome man who had accompanied Li Yuan to buy her wedding ring!
"Hehe, let me introduce you. This is Park Hae-jun, a Korean and a well-known playboy in the circle. A flight attendant is, of course, easy to catch," Zhao Chunsheng said with a smile, noticing Gao Yang staring at Park Hae-jun. "Mr. Gao, I'm just doing my job, don't take it personally," Park Hae-jun bowed slightly and said fluently in Mandarin.
Gao Yang ignored them, turned to the sofa, and sat down. He lit a cigarette, took a deep puff, and said to Zhao Chunsheng, "I'm here."
"Mr. Gao, you're really quick. I invited you here to discuss something," Zhao Chunsheng said, sitting on the sofa next to Gao Yang. His tone was as gentle as a spring breeze, making one feel at ease.
Gao Yang just looked at him silently. He knew these elites were well-educated from a young age and were skilled in conversation techniques and tone.
Zhao Chunsheng smiled lightly, pushed his glasses up, and continued, "I initially thought of you as a small-time rival, but when the people I sent to comfort you said you suddenly disappeared, I thought they were lying. But after a professional lie detector test, I found out it was true, and I became very interested in you." Zhao Chunsheng spoke casually, as if he had really sent people to comfort Gao Yang.
Gao Yang narrowed his eyes, breaking a leg was comfort? "Hehe," Gao Yang laughed sarcastically, feeling angry.
Zhao Chunsheng seemed completely oblivious and continued, "Later, I heard you appeared at Alice Bar, so I went there with Xiao Xue to observe you up close."
At this point, Zhao Chunsheng pushed his glasses up and said excitedly, "Sure enough, you didn't disappoint me. Your dazzling dance moves in the dance floor and your ability to quickly take down a professional bodyguard in the restroom amazed me. I had professionals investigate your past, and you have no skills in dance or combat! It's impossible to learn all that in such a short time!" He looked at Gao Yang with a fiery gaze.
Gao Yang's lips curled slightly, leaning back on the sofa. "Go on," he said, though he was surprised, he decided to get to the bottom of it since he was here.
Zhao Chunsheng picked up his water glass, took a sip, and smiled at Gao Yang. "You were just a poor guy, but recently you became very wealthy and even deposited dozens of tons of gold in the central bank! Don't worry, my family has strong connections in Beidu, so it's normal for me to know this."
Seeing Gao Yang sitting like a stone statue without any reaction, Zhao Chunsheng continued, "Putting all the pieces together, you must have gained some mysterious power! You can't imagine how excited I was when I came to this conclusion! I've had everything since birth, and I can get anything I want. There's nothing that interests me anymore, and every day is meaningless. Until you appeared. I'm very interested in your secret."
Zhao Chunsheng took off his glasses and stared intently at Gao Yang. "If you share your secret with me, I can give you anything you want! Don't worry about leaks; no one who knows about this will have a chance to speak."
Gao Yang's eyes turned cold, immediately thinking of the thugs and the private detectives who had investigated him. They must have been silenced. Truly a ruthless and ambitious person. Hmm? Gao Yang suddenly thought of something and looked at the secretary and Park Hae-jun standing behind Zhao Chunsheng. After staring at Zhao Chunsheng for a while, he slowly said, "Are you gay?"
Zhao Chunsheng was clearly taken aback, not expecting Gao Yang to ask this. But he smiled and put his glasses back on. "Not exactly. I like both handsome men and beautiful women."
Gao Yang was speechless. He realized he still had a lot to learn about the world. He leaned back slightly and said to Zhao Chunsheng, "Alright, you've tried to tempt me. Now, let's talk about threats."
Zhao Chunsheng's face turned cold, and he leaned back on the sofa. The secretary offered him a cigarette, which he lit and took a deep puff. He turned to Gao Yang and said, "I thought you were a smart guy. It would have been better to cooperate."
He shook his head, took a sip of water, and continued, "I studied psychology for a while during my time in the UK. Based on my analysis, you value emotions a lot. Unfortunately, I initially planned to use your parents as hostages."
At this, Gao Yang's eyes flashed sharply.
Zhao Chunsheng seemed oblivious and continued, "Unfortunately, your parents' bodyguards are excellent, so I couldn't get to them. I had to use the women you like as hostages instead." He clapped his hands.
A large door in the living room opened, and Gao Yang turned to look. Lu Lingxue and Li Yuan were sitting in two chairs facing the door, their hands and feet bound to the chairs with tape. Four armed men stood beside them, and most importantly, both women had a silver cylindrical device with magnetic clasps around their necks, emitting a blue glow. Their eyes were filled with despair; they had heard everything in the adjacent room!
