When Gu Anran opened her eyes, she met an up-close version of Mu Qingli’s face.

Goddamn! Scared me to death!

Yesterday she had gone out to the balcony for a little bit and then the two of them had gone back to sleep. Before then, Gu Anran had invited Mu Qingli to sleep on the bed with her using the excuse that it was “very uncomfortable” to sleep on the sofa and since they were the only ones in here that it wouldn’t matter if they slept in the same bed. With that sound reasoning, Mu Qingli agreed to sleep on the bed with her.

“Ah…it’s already nine.” Seeing the sunlight coming from the window and then looking at the clock, she felt like she was forgetting something.

The door opened with a tremendous force and a familiar voice came roaring in.

“Gu Anran ahhhhhh! What have you done! Do you know how many times this old lady’s phone has been ringing today!” Hong Qingyi rushed in while yelling and holding her work phone. (Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi both have a private and work phone they use for different situations.)

“Wuah! What happened?!” Mu Qingli sat up abruptly and looked around in confusion. Due to the sudden movement, her hair tousled over her eyes.

“Everything’s okay, no need to panic.” Gu Anran comforted the confused girl and patted Mu Qingli’s head.

“What do you mean everything’s okay?! Are you even listening to me!” hong Qingyi shouted with her hands on her waist.

“Qingyi, your image, your image! Think about your image! There are a lot of people right outside!” Gu Anran pointed outside the window and doors. Indeed, there were many family members of the patients and medical staff that looked at them curiously. Some people became even more excited when they saw Gu Anran pointing at them.

The door opened and Chi Mengyan walked in a minute later. At the same time, she closed the curtains and blocked the people from view. “Yes this is nothing, but Mother and Father Gu told me that they were sending in some reporters to visit you. One group will come in at ten in the morning and then we have to meet some important investors from the company. Those idiots said they had to personally see you were ok. Then at around two in the afternoon, there will be some key actors and stars who will come visit you. After these people leave around four, we have to discuss what to do with your work that was put on hiatus. I already drew up a list of the work you left unfinished! Other than the drama you were filming, there are three perfume ads, two clothing ads, four food-related ads, and then finally three sports ads.”

“…..” Gu Anran was dumbfounded. After less than ten days of rest, she had now found herself behind on a lot of work! And all those visitors, do they all have to come at once?! Can’t they work out some kind of staggered visiting? Don’t she need more rest?”

“Good luck.” Hong Qingyi patted Gu Anran on the shoulder, laughing at the other’s misfortune.

“Just so you know, you can’t shrug off these work assignments because the original owner was a person with a heavy sense of duty and responsibility. As long as she had a job to do, she would finish it no matter what state her body was in. I also heard that she rarely took a day off and that she even spent three full days working without sleep before! That’s why the entertainment circle dubbed her as 「The Undefeatable Ice Queen」”

This friend of hers only stood by the door while she worked or ran outside when things got heavy. What kind of agent works like that!

“I have none, I don’t need that kind of thing.” Hong Qingyi shrugged. That ‘I couldn’t care less’ expression on her face made Gu Anran grit her teeth. I want a new manager!

“Time for dinner!” Chi Mengyan walked in with a bunch of takeout boxes and placed them onto the table, the light fragrance wafting into the air.

Ooohhh! Braised pork! Sweet and sour fish! Mapo Tofu! Kaiyang cabbage! Bacon and Cabbage! Ginger clam soup!

The dishes were common ones but after eating more than a week of Chinese medicine soup and herbal soup, these dishes were like a gift from heaven!”

“Smells nice!” Hong Qingyi drooled at the sight of the dishes.

“Probably because of Gu Anran’s announcement, the number of reporters and fans had lessened outside. Although there are still a few left, it’s no longer a problem for the medical staff to buy stuff for us.” Chi Mengyan said.

Correct, the four people still couldn’t leave the hospital but the medical staff was free to enter and leave. Before, the medical staff would be swarmed by the reporters and the doctors especially so! They were too afraid to even go home and often had to stay at the hospital instead. They wouldn’t starve anyway because of the cafeteria downstairs but Gu Anran felt sorry for them.

However, why didn’t Gu Anran and her friends eat at the hospital cafeteria? That’s because the cafeteria is not open to just the medical staff. Some patients with minor injuries and their families would eat down there. Gu Anran and the others would rather eat soup than be watched like a monkey in a zoo. And there was no guarantee that someone should secretly take a picture and sell it to the media.

Of course, they could’ve just asked the medical staff to get them food earlier but it was already hard enough for the medical staff to work long shifts while being surrounded by the reporters. They would feel guilty if they added more to the staff’s burden and since the four didn’t need the luxury of takeout food, they had survived on soup for a week or two.

“Anran, here.” Mu Qingli handed Gu Anran a bowl of rice.

“Ah, thank you!” Gu Anran took it happily. Smells so good! Real food is so tasty!

The four of them quickly finished the food on the table and perhaps because of all the supplements they’ve been taking recently, they were able to clean six people’s worth of food with only the four of them.

“Huu…I feel so full….” Gu Anran sighed in satisfaction and patted her bulging belly.

“Ahhh…that felt great! I felt like this is the best meal I’ve eaten in my entire life!” Hong Qingyi nodded.

“But you only ate the meat. You only ate one bite of the vegetables!” Gu Anran narrowed her eyes. As someone who always had to have meat for dinner, Hong Qingyi had to force herself to even eat one bite of the green vegetables….ah, except for the vegetables in the fried rice or fried noodles. Those were ok.

“Ma~~~ Don’t sweat the small stuff~~” Hong Qingyi waved her hand.

“What do you mean ‘don’t sweat the small stuff’? You’re lacking a lot of vitamins! How can your body sustain itself if on nonexistent nutrients if all you eat are meat? Although supplements are effective, they aren’t as good as fresh fruits and veggies. You must obediently eat the vegetables I give you, or else!” Who knows when she appeared behind Hong Qingyi, but Chi Mengyan spat out a verbal beating like a machine gun and became more and more heated. Finally, she grabbed Hong Qingyi’s shoulder and stared angrily into her eyes.

“Ah…I-I understand….” Hong Qingyi nodded blankly.

Uh….what an interesting scene….Gu Anran watched dumbfoundedly.

“But why is such a picky eater so tall?” Chi Mengyan mumbled as she walked past Gu Anran.

Gu Anran looked at Chi Mengyan and then at Hong Qingyi.

“…..” Ahhh….there’s almost half a head worth of difference…no wonder she seems angry…so she’s frustrated that HOng QIngyi is taller than herself! Poor Qingyi, having to deal with this rage….

Knock. Knock.

Suddenly knocking sounded on the door.

“There are still people visiting at this time?” Gu Anran asked Hong Qingyi.

“There shouldn’t be.” Hong Qingyi flipped through her phone and shook her head.

“I’m pretty sure there shouldn’t be any visits tonight!”

“Forget it, let’s just see who it is.” Gu Anran shrugged.

‘Come in.” Hong Qingyi nodded and walked over to open the door.

Standing outside the doorways nurse and it seemed like a new one as she trembled nervously in front of them.

“This…M-Miss Hong, there is a….someone who claims to be Miss Gu and Miss Hong’s friend downstairs that came for a visit.” The little nurse said nervously.

“Friend? But I remember that the visiting hours are over by now.” Hong Qingyi tilted her head.

“This…this lady told me that she didn’t want to visit with so many other people around. And she didn’t want to bother when you guys were eating. So she decided to come when no one else was visiting.”

“Lady….a woman.” Hong QIngy glanced at Gu Anran and the two of them exchanged a silent conversation.

Gu Anran: Could it be Mother Gu and Father Gu?

Hong Qingyi: Impossible, I didn’t receive any news from them.

Gu Anran: If it isn’t them then they probably aren’t my friend. The random visitor is probably just saying this to get past the guards.

Hong Qingyi: Well, that’s possible.

“Miss nurse, this lady…did she give you a name?” Gu Anran looked directly at the nurse.

“Y-yes!” The little nurse’s cheeks flushed in excitement. She never thought the Film Empress would speak to her!

“She said her name is Cui Qianqian.”
