Chapter 8-Campus Novel (7)

“Little Ran and Little Yan, we’re going to the bathroom.” Mu Qingli looked helplessly at the two of them engrossed in their video games. Was the game they were playing really that fun? It’s just some killing and shooting, and yet their eyes look so focused that it seemed like they were going pop of their sockets. Should she say it looks funny or stupid? Or both?

“Yeah, Yeah, ok, I know! Ah, Hong Qingyi, you pig teammate!” Gu Anran stared intently at the screen and nodded absentmindedly at Mu Qingli’s words.

“You’re the pig teammate! You didn’t even come to save me! You let me die so many times!” The Hong Qinyi next to her replied.

Mu Qingli looked at Chi Mengyan and shrugged as they walked out of the classroom. Although Gu Anran had said they might encounter some bullying, after a month, nothing had happened other than the six of them becoming good friends. Since nothing has happened, going to the bathroom alone without those two should be fine right? Thinking like this, Mu Qingli didn’t notice that the moment she stepped out, several girls looked at them with secret delight.

After the two went out, the other girls winked at each other and then worriedly glanced at Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi. Seeing that the two didn’t move, they quietly walked out and walked towards one direction, the direction where Mu QIngli and Chi Mengyan went.

The two people who were playing the game suddenly heard an emergency notification from the system.

「Warning: Female lead and female supporting lead are currently blocked inside the bathroom. May the players please hurry over.」

Meanwhile at the women’s bathroom,

“What do you want?” Mu Qingli stood in front of Chi Mengyan and cautiously watched the five girls who clearly had some bad intentions.

“What do we want? My, aren’t you getting more and more arrogant!” The leader of the group, a girl with heavy makeup, sneered. Mu Qingli had a faint impression of the girl, she was one of the followers always hiding behind Shangguan Qing’s back.

Mu Qingli glanced around. The situation was looking bad for them because the only bathroom exit had been blocked, there was no way out.

“We haven’t offended you in any way, right?” Chi Mengyan gently pulled Mu Qingli away. How could she let her best friend stand alone in the front? No, instead she stood tall beside her.

“Haven’t offended us? That’s the funniest joke I’ve ever heard! Day in and day out, you two have been hanging out with Duan Hongwu and Song Wenyan! If it was just Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi then it’s fine, but how dare the two of you get close with our school’s two big superstars!” Feng Qian roared. She herself was in love with Song Wenyan, but not only did he ignore her, but why was he so intimate with these two poor b*tches?! She never paused to think it might be because of her heavy makeup….

The more Feng Qian thought the angrier she became and she placed all her resentment onto these two vixens(?) in front of her.

“Alright, girls, do it!” Feng Qian waved her hand.

Shuaaaaa

Two buckets of water splashed onto Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan, and the other two girls smiled like a pair of wolves and threw trash at them.

“Ohohohohoho! This look fits you two quite well! A poor person should look like a proper poor person!” Feng Qian laughed happily.

“Do you think this is funny?” Gu Anran rushed in to see this sorry situation, with the two capture targets sitting miserably on the ground. Immediately she felt the blood rush to her head as she became full of anger. She roughly lifted Feng Qian up by the collar and pressed her against the wall.

The still laughing Feng Qian who was suddenly lifted accidentally bit her tongue. Add on the fact that she was pressed hard against the wall, her back was tingling in pain. She wanted to curse and yell, but facing the angry expression on Gu Anran’s face she couldn’t make a sound.

“I said, do you think this is funny?” Still holding Feng Qian, her cold eyes glanced at the group around her.

Perhaps those eyes were so cold it was scary, not a person moved and everyone in the bathroom was silent.

Mu Qingli felt dumbfounded as she looked up at Gu Anran. In her mind, Gu Anran is an amusing girl who loved to laugh. She had never seen Gu Anran show that expression ever before.

Beside her, Chi Mengyan looked at the open door and didn’t see a shadow of Hong Qingyi…for some reason, Chi Mengyan felt a sense of loss.

“What? Not talking anymore? Where did your arrogance from just now go?” Gu Anran sneered.

“Gu Anran, what are you going to do to Feng Qian? Put her down.” Another proud voice called out.

Gu Anran turned to look at the source of that voice. Bringing over some classmates with her, Shangguan Qing stood there with a satisfied and despisal smile.

If it wasn’t for the family behind Shangguan Qing, Gu Anran would’ve already stepped on that infuriating face a long time ago! Do you think that just because you have a better background a fox can become a tiger?! So fake!

”Gu Anran, why haven’t you put Feng Qian down yet!” No one has ever disobeyed her words before, and at home, Shangguan Qing is treated like a princess. However, seeing the Gu Anran who refused to listen to her, she became angry.

“Why should I? Because you are the little princess of the Shangguan family? Based on my family background, I am not afraid of the Shangguan family. Other than throwing around your family name, what else can you do?” Gu Anran snorted.

In the past, after announcing her name, they would defer to her, but now being told by Gu Anran that her family name didn’t matter, Shangguan Qing felt shocked.

“F-Feng Qian is still your classmate, so you should let her go!” A follower behind Shangguan Qing called out.

“Classmate? You’re trying to use this reason against me? I can see you left your brain at home today and it’s only filled with tofu! “This…you…I…” Faced with Gu Anran’s machine-gun fast replied, the girl didn’t know how to answer.

“The one being too much isn’t me, can’t you tell? Is there a problem with your eyes!” When it comes to arguing, how could Gu Anran lose? As an orphan, her debate skills had been practiced to perfection!

“You..you…” Shanggaun Qing couldn’t beat Gu Anran with words and so with a head full of anger, lifted her hand and swung at Gu Anran before being stopped halfway.

“Oh my, it seems that Miss Shnagguan wants to hit a classmate!” Hong Qingyi held Shangguan Qing’s wrist with a smile on her face, but her grip continued to tighten.

Feeling the pain from having her wrist squeezed, Shangguan Qing tried to shake off Hong Qinyi’s iron grip but failed to do so.

Gu Anran glanced at the two people not far from Hong Qingyi and then looked at Hong Qingyi who looked back. Naturally, she understood what Hong Qingyi wanted. Meanwhile, just as Shangguan Qing put in all her strength to pull back her wrist, Hong Qingyi released her and she fell to the ground.

“What a good show we have here!” Duan Hongwu had his hands in his pockets and walked up, a gloomy expression on his face. Even the kind Song Wenyan had no expression as he looked at the crowd in front of them.

「Male lead’s favorability rating towards the villain female lead has decreased by 30 to (-100) and the supporting male lead’s favorability rating towards the villain lead has decreased by 20 to (-60).」

“Brother Wu~~” When Shangguan Qing heard Duan Hongwu’s voice, she froze, but then immediately stood up and ran towards Duan Hongwu.

The female villain is so thick-skinned! Gu Anran thought as she sighed.

Duan Hongwu avoided Shangguan Qing’s 「pervert hands」with a look of disgust and pulled Song Wenyan with him into the bathroom. Upon seeing Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan’s tragic appearances, the two’s expressions hardened even more.

Based on this past month’s interactions, the two have long since regarded both Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan as close friends. Seeing their close friends being humiliated like this, anyone would get angry.

“No one here today should even think about denying today’s events! After today’s events, I don’t think any of you will have the qualifications to keep studying at this school.” Gu Anran sarcastically said as she looked at the pale-faced girls. Gu Anran acting like this usually wasn’t a good thing because every single student at this school had a powerful background. However, Gu Anran didn’t care because she had both the Duan and Song families, three of the major families, on her side. Furthermore, isn’t this the perfect moment to kill the chicken to warn the monkey? [1]

Anyhow, the forces behind these girls are all probably lackeys of the Shangguan family. All she had to do was remind her father to be on guard, and if they have to break relations with their families, then fine! As for the Shangguan family? They wouldn’t be willing to offend the other two major families and the Gu and Hong on top of that, just for the sake of these little shrimps. This kind of choice, even a fool would know what to do. Only Shangguan Qing, this stupid c*nt, would be unable to differentiate good and bad and bring their family into this mess.

Even though it was still autumn, and not quite considered cold yet, one can still catch a cold after being drenched in water. So Gu Anran took off her jacket, covered Mu Qingli with it and then gently hugged her, with Mu Qingli’s back facing her.

The still shocked Mu Qingli was suddenly swept into a soft embrace. This soft embrace made her want to cling onto those arms, but when thinking about her trash covered body, she tried to shake off those arms. However, the arms around her only tightened and after struggling a few times, Mu Qingli finally relaxed into the embrace.

「Female lead’s favorability rating has increased by 10 to (70)」

It increased! Gu Anran felt excited, but her expression was still frosty as it has been the last few minutes. Glancing out of the corner of her eye, she looked at the Hong Qingyi who was similarly hugging Chi Mengyan. Although Chi Mengyan had no expression, Gu Anran heard the system say that the supporting female lead’s favorability rating had increased by 10 to 75. Hearing this, she couldn’t help but feel happy for Hong Qingyi.

In the end, those girls were handed over for Duan Hongwu and Song Wenyan to deal with and although they weren’t sure what happened during negotiations, those girls never came back to school again.

Later, Duan Hongwu told them that the school wanted to push all the blame onto Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan because they didn’t want to offend five families and possibly the Shangguan family all at once. However, Duan Hongwu merely pulled out a piece of paper and asked for the four’s signatures.

Glancing through it, basically, it said that whoever dared to lay a hand on either Mu Qingli or Chi Mengyan will have to go through not only the Duan family, but the Song, Gu, and Hong family as well. After the four finished signing, Duan Hongwu domineeringly threw it at the principal’s face and left without waiting for a response.

In fact, there was no need to reply. All four of them were heirs to their respective families, so although they didn’t have the power right now, what about when they inherit their families’ companies? Therefore, all of the girls involved in the incident disappeared.

After this event, no one else dared to mess with Mu Qingli and Chi Mengyan. With such a precedent, who else dares to go up against them? Maybe those who didn’t want to live anymore?

However, Gu Anran and Hong Qingyi couldn’t care less about any of that! What they’re concerned with is their amusement park date on Saturday!!!
