Chapter 39

"Oh, delicious...!!"

The moment Amelia took a bite of the devilishly delicious dish of braised beef tendon on a baguette, she couldn't help but exclaim in delight.

Beef tendon was usually tough and flavorless, not particularly delicious (though it was one of the better dishes served at her parents' house), but this beef tendon, having been cooked for a long time, was tender and melted in her mouth without any resistance.

The onions and carrots cooked together were infused with their natural sweetness, pairing perfectly with the crispy baguette.

As Amelia savored the unknown deliciousness she had never tasted before, Logan observed her intently.

"You really enjoy your food, don't you?"

"Ah, I'm sorry, I must look so unladylike..."

"It's a bad habit to apologize too much."

"Ah! Um, thank you?"

"That's a different issue. Never mind."

"Ugh... It's so difficult..."

"I'm not angry, actually, it's a good thing."

"Really?"

"Personally, I think so. But in public, you should be more careful."

"Ugh... I'll be more careful."

But it was so delicious, she couldn't stop. Next, she reached for the fried shrimp spring rolls with her fork.

The plump shrimp and crunchy cabbage were wrapped in a crispy crepe, offering a delightful texture and flavor.

"Mmm...!"

The thick shrimp greeted her with a well-balanced spice, complemented by the light cabbage, leaving no heaviness.

It was delicious and easy on the stomach, a dish she could keep eating forever.

In the background, the usual chef nodded in satisfaction.

"You're looking much better."

Logan said, looking at Amelia. Her fork stopped mid-air.

"Um... Have I become a bit plumper...?"

"On the contrary, you should eat more. You haven't been eating enough. Eat more and get back to a healthy weight, then you'll look even better..."

At that, Logan fell silent, looking away.

Amelia was starting to recognize this behavior as a sign of Logan's embarrassment.

"Lord Logan?"

"Nothing. Just eat a lot, but not so much that you get sick."

"Yes! I won't cause any trouble by getting sick again!"

"That's a good attitude."

Logan smiled contentedly.

As dinner drew to a close, Amelia was savoring a rich, Eastern-style pasta with mushrooms when Logan spoke again.

"By the way, I overheard something."

"Really?"

"You don't have to speak when you have mushrooms in your mouth."

Munch, munch, gulp.

"Sorry... Ah!"

"That's the correct usage. It's good to see you're aware."

"Yes, thank you... So, what did you overhear?"

"A few days ago, you served food to everyone, right?"

She remembered the weed dinner from the day before yesterday.

"It wasn't much of a meal, but I cooked a little something with seasonal weeds and everyone enjoyed it."

"I see."

At the time, Silphy had been concerned about whether it was appropriate to eat the same food as the master, but Logan didn't seem to mind.

"I heard it was quite well-received."

"Yes, I'm very happy."

"Seasonal weeds, interesting."

"Are you interested?"

Amelia asked, her excitement evident.

"Yes, after eating all the high-end dishes, I sometimes crave something made with unusual ingredients. I'm curious about the flavors of the plants growing in the backyard."

"I see..."

No matter how lavish the meals, they could get boring if eaten every day. This was a feeling Amelia, who had always eaten simple meals, couldn't quite understand.

(No wonder Lord Duke is amazing...)

Amelia thought to herself, and Logan said:

"Let me try it sometime."

"Of course! I'd be happy to!"

Amelia nodded with a bright smile.

Logan's gaze shifted slightly again, but Amelia, lost in thoughts of learning cooking techniques from the chefs, didn't notice.

Thus, the dinner time passed.

It had been a long time since she had a leisurely dinner with Logan, and they had a chance to talk about things they hadn't discussed before. It was a very enjoyable time.

Amelia realized once again that eating with someone was much more delicious than eating alone.
