Summer turned on the light and then walked directly into the next room, turning on the light there as well. There was nothing in the room.
"Come out, do you really want me to invite you out?"
"Who are you?"
A man in black walked out from behind the curtains. He no longer continued to hide, since he had already been discovered, there was no need to play cat and mouse anymore.
"My name is Summer."
"Summer? You're Summer!"
The man in black carefully scanned Summer from head to toe.
"Do you know me?"
"Of course, there isn't a single person in the Quicksand who doesn't know you. You are the son of Summer Long."
"You know my father. Tell me what you know about him, and I might spare your life."
"Do you think you can kill me?"
The man in black looked at Summer with extreme disdain and continued, "There is detailed information about you in the Quicksand. A model student, they all say that a tiger father doesn't have a dog for a son, but you are far from being like Summer Long. By the time Summer Long was twenty, his name was already known throughout half of China."
"Is there anything else?"
"You already know enough. If you hand over the Heaven-Linking Scroll, I might tell you more."
Summer crushed the bead in the middle of his necklace, and a wooden slip appeared in his hand. "Tell me what I want to know, and it will be yours."
"It seems my luck has really turned." The man in black said excitedly, "You want to know about Summer Long, right? It's simple, anyone with a name in the world knows about it."
"But I don't."
"There are four great masters in China: East Elder, West Hidden, South Killer, and North Army. Summer Long is West Hidden."
"Then why did he die?"
"I'm not too clear on that. I've already told you enough. Give me the scroll."
"I have one last question."
"Are you playing with me?" The man in black said coldly.
"Here, take it." Summer threw the Heaven-Linking Scroll to the man in black and then asked, "What is this thing for?"
"A treasure of the highest order, something everyone in the world is pursuing." The man in black looked at Summer with cold eyes, "Now that I have the Heaven-Linking Scroll, I don't need to kill you, but that woman must die."
"I'll give you a chance, a chance to live." Summer looked up at the man in black.
"Did I hear that right? You're actually giving me a chance?" The man in black looked at Summer with disdain, "I shouldn't have broken the rules and let you go."
Summer's figure disappeared, and when he reappeared, his right hand was already gripping the man in black's neck, and his left hand was pressing a point on the man's hand, causing the Heaven-Linking Scroll to return to his possession.
"I'll give you three sentences to try and save your life."
"You, how is this possible?"
"First sentence."
"I can tell you more about your father."
"Second sentence."
"The Heaven-Linking Scroll has eight parts."
"Sorry, I don't want to hear that. You've missed your chance to live." Summer's right hand quickly struck the man in black, disabling his limbs and knocking him unconscious.
What he most wanted to hear was that the man would stop pursuing Zeng Rou, but he had said the wrong thing. He would eventually learn about his father, and he wasn't interested in the Heaven-Linking Scroll. He protected it simply because it was something his father left behind.
Today, he had learned enough. What made him happiest was that his father was indeed a remarkable person.
In ancient times, there were the Eastern Evil, Western Poison, Southern Emperor, and Northern Beggar. In modern China, there are the East Elder, West Hidden, South Killer, and North Army. Although the titles are a bit crude, they represent status.
West Hidden, Summer Long.
"Brother Xu, I need your help. Have Xiao Fei come over too." Summer called Xu Dechuan.
When he came to the living room, Zeng Rou also came out when she heard the voice.
"Are you okay?" Zeng Rou looked at Summer.
"Of course, if just anyone could hurt me, how could I protect you?" Summer sat on the sofa, "Do you have any alcohol?"
"Yes, did something unpleasant happen?"
"No, I learned something worth being happy about." Before coming out, Summer had already reshaped the Heaven-Linking Scroll into a bead and put it back on his necklace.
"Then I'll have a drink with you."
"You'd better not drink yet. A few friends will be coming over soon."
Zeng Rou put on a bathrobe and sat next to Summer.
"Will you always protect me?" Zeng Rou leaned against Summer's chest.
"Yes." Summer nodded.
He didn't know when it started, but he never got drunk from drinking, yet he could still feel the stimulation of the alcohol.
Half an hour later, Old Xu and Gao Fei arrived at the villa. Summer opened the door for them. Gao Fei was already wearing new clothes, which Old Xu must have bought for him. Upon closer inspection, Gao Fei's clothes were much more expensive than Summer's.
"What's up, Brother Xia?" Old Xu sat on the sofa.
"Two things. First, Gao Fei is a good seed. I hope you can help me train him well." Summer patted Gao Fei's shoulder and continued, "Second, there's a person in that room who can't move. Take him to the police station and hang a sign on him that says 'Quicksand Killer.'"
"Don't worry." Old Xu nodded. Summer was now his benefactor. The martial arts competition at Green Forest Manor was about to begin. If he could defeat San, he wouldn't have to live in fear anymore.
Although he didn't know the relationship between Summer and the Quicksand, he wouldn't ask.
After saying goodbye to Old Xu, Summer leaned back on the sofa, and Zeng Rou leaned against his chest.
"Let's go back to rest." Summer saw that Zeng Rou was a bit tired.
"Let's go to that room." Zeng Rou pointed to another room.
This made Summer a bit dizzy. Not returning to the previous room but going to another room together, it made him think of all sorts of things.
"Don't overthink it. I just want you to hold me while I sleep. The bed in the middle isn't big enough." Zeng Rou explained.
Hearing Zeng Rou's explanation, Summer nodded and walked into the other room with her. As soon as they got into bed, Zeng Rou threw herself into Summer's arms, "Hold me."
Summer was wearing a pair of pants and a short-sleeved shirt, while Zeng Rou was wearing a silk nightgown. Holding Zeng Rou in his arms, he could fully feel the softness of her body, a sensation he had never experienced before. His little brother immediately protested.
