Chapter 13: I'm very sad to hear you say that. Why don't you just pretend to have something to fool me!

Lu Chaoge understood and immediately responded, "Skipping class to drink, causing a commotion in the classroom, beating up classmates, and insulting teachers—the nature of these students' offenses is very serious. Their presence would tarnish the reputation of Zhuniao High School and have a very negative impact among the students."

She paused, then looked at Li Mingqiang and said, "However, since Teacher Fang Yan has taken the initiative to plead for these students and taken the main responsibility—Director Li, I suggest we give these three students a major demerit. What do you think?"

"Let's investigate further. It might be a misunderstanding—" Li Mingqiang looked sharply at Fang Yan, as if trying to see through the young Chinese teacher's every organ. "Teacher Fang Yan is very responsible and patient with the students. He is a very good teacher. We are all confident in entrusting Class 9 to Teacher Fang Yan."

Li Mingqiang made a concession.

Li Mingqiang's attitude wasn't important, but the stance he represented, Zheng Tiancheng, was crucial.

Lu Chaoge nodded and said, "I'll have someone investigate further to get to the bottom of it. I will handle this matter fairly and justly."

"I believe Principal Lu will handle it well." Li Mingqiang coldly said, then turned and walked out of the hospital.

With the truth revealed, the others, seeing Li Mingqiang leave, followed suit.

Lu Chaoge turned to look at Fang Yan and asked, "How did you do it?"

"Because I can pass through a garden of flowers without a single petal sticking to me," Fang Yan said.

"Teacher Fang Yan, I'm asking you a serious question."

"Principal Lu, I'm answering your question seriously," Fang Yan said.

He wasn't lying. Tai Chi emphasizes the concept of having a circle that seems non-existent, having an extreme that seems non-existent. It's about using force to counter force without physical contact.

Some Tai Chi masters in the folk emphasize not using their hands to strike, considering it shameful to use their hands.

Not using hands to strike sounds both impressive and pretentious.

Although Fang Yan couldn't beat the violent girl Ye Wenrou, dealing with these three drunk students who couldn't even stand steadily required no effort at all.

Lu Chaoge just stared at Fang Yan without speaking. She felt she couldn't get a straight answer from this guy, even though she had just been helping him so much.

Fang Yan knew Lu Chaoge didn't believe him and said, "Look into my eyes—"

"I am."

"Do you see the sincerity in them?"

"I see a clump of eye gunk." Lu Chaoge was so angry she turned and walked away.

"Fang Yan, you—take care of yourself." Zheng Jing wanted to scold Fang Yan but, knowing it would be useless, quickly followed after Lu Chaoge.

"Principal Lu, do we really need to go to such lengths to protect Fang Yan?" Zheng Jing asked with a forced smile. "Isn't it a bad deal to offend the board chairman and Director Li for a new teacher?"

"What's a good deal and what's a bad deal?" Lu Chaoge stopped and asked.

"This—It's for your own good, Principal Lu. I think you've just barely established yourself at the school. There's no need to confront them head-on," Zheng Jing quickly explained.

"I never intended to confront them head-on. I will do what is right and avoid what is wrong—" Lu Chaoge laughed coldly. "They only want to protect their own children. Have they considered the impact on other students if they get away with it? If they can't distinguish right from wrong, how can we expect them to have good character and integrity? Without good morals, no matter how capable they are, what good is it?"

"China and the United States have different national conditions—"

"The sun represents the day, the moon represents the night. Bamboo has joints, trees have roots. Black is black, white is white. This is the same in any country—this is Zhuniao High School, and I am the vice-principal of Zhuniao High School. I will make it the same, and it must be the same." Lu Chaoge said firmly. "I can compromise on many things, but on some things—I would rather bleed."

Lu Chaoge walked away with a resolute expression and a graceful figure.

The sound of her high heels tapping the ground echoed, each tap striking the heart.

Zheng Jing stood there, and after a long while, he exhaled a deep breath: "For the first time, I don't find her tyranny so detestable."

Thinking about it, he gritted his teeth and cursed, "All because of that disaster, Fang Yan. Just wait and see how I deal with you."

Zheng Guodong, Li Yang, and Chen Tao were in the same hospital room. Actually, their injuries weren't serious, but to frame Fang Yan, they had all exaggerated their conditions.

Li Yang's entire head was wrapped in white bandages, Chen Tao's left hand was in a cast, and Zheng Guodong's eye was purplish-red—Zheng Guodong wasn't faking it; his eye, whether hit by Chen Tao or Li Yang, still stung painfully.

"That guy dared to offend us. We have to ruin him," Chen Tao cursed.

"By the time we get out, he'll probably be long gone," Li Yang laughed. "I called my dad when I came in. My dad said a teacher like that doesn't deserve to be a teacher. Since my dad said that, he won't be able to stay at Zhuniao."

"My dad also said he would look into it," Zheng Guodong said, holding his phone and playing a game.

"With Uncle Zheng on the case, that guy is dead meat," Li Yang and Chen Tao exchanged glances and laughed.

"Are you talking about me?" Fang Yan stood at the door, smiling at the three on the beds.

Li Yang and Chen Tao looked terrified, and Zheng Guodong tried to jump out of bed but dropped his phone on his eye, causing him to cry out in pain.

"Why are you here?" Li Yang asked warily.

This guy was a bit eerie, like he had magic. They had planned to beat him up, but ended up in the hospital—what was he doing here now?

Was it because he knew he was about to be expelled and wanted to beat them up before leaving?

Thinking of this possibility, Li Yang became even more afraid and shouted, "Doctor! Doctor! Nurse! Help!—"

"Why can't I be here?" Fang Yan thought the question was stupid. "I'm your teacher, and you are my students. My students are injured and hospitalized, so I came to see if there's anything wrong."

He pointed at Li Yang and said, "Stop shouting. You can yell until you're hoarse, but it won't do any good—I'm your teacher, not a pervert. What are you afraid of? Besides, your faces are natural wolf repellents. You're safe."

Zheng Guodong, Li Yang, and Chen Tao looked at each other, feeling insulted.

Fang Yan pulled a chair and sat next to Zheng Guodong, asking with concern, "Are you okay?"

"Y-Yes, I'm fine," Zheng Guodong replied. He couldn't understand why this guy was suddenly so kind and concerned. Was he trying to show weakness and beg for mercy?

Hmph, too late!

"I'm very sad to hear you say that," Fang Yan said with a regretful look. "Why don't you just pretend to have something to fool me?"

"——"
